Alex is a very professional massage therapist. He works hard and is a good person, plus charges a very fair price for his service. I’ve probably had 30 different masseuses provide massages to me over the past 10 years and Alex is among the top 5 best. It’s really unfortunate that someone wrote a review accusing him of being ‘creepy’ without actually stating the specifics to back up this statement. Shame on people who use Unilocal to make vague accusatory statements that wreak havoc on small business owners.

Alex gives the best massages I’ve had and is willing to work with you to find the type that works best. Worth a try!

Um, yeah… I hate to give a bad review to a masseuse, but this guy totally CREEPED ME OUT. Ladies, I would not recommend going here alone.
There is always a chance I was misreading, but after over 10 years of getting massages from both male and female therapists, and attending massage school myself, I think not. Something was definitely amiss with this guy. There were a few things that happened that made me uncomfortable beyond just the vibe of the place. Nothing super blatant, but enough that I will not go back, and am taking the time to write this review for you. I actually made an excuse and left my appointment early.

Alex is a professional, knowledgeable and holistic massage therapist. He pays close attention to my requests and my needs, and always offer helpful suggestions for self-​care. I highly recommend him!

Alex came highly recommended through a friend of mine so I thought I’d give him a try.
I saw Alex very recently and what impressed me most was his vast knowledge in holistic and ayurvedic approach to his craft. He is skilled and does an outstanding job as a Massage Therapist. The bodywork session begins with healing and cleansing of mind, body and soul.
I loved the attention to details that made each massage relaxing and peaceful. I felt so much better after my session was over.

I’ve been going to Alex a few times now and am really happy with my decision to have regular massages with him! I have chronic back pain due to my height and frequent tension headaches and all has been vastly improved since seeing him once or twice a month. Alex is extremely knowledgeable about how the muscles and ligaments in the body work and is very good about pinpointing problem areas instead of just giving a general rub down. He also has great ideas for different exercises and stretches to try for relief. His space is comfortable, quiet, clean, and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Alex was wonderful! I went in with blinding pain from sciatica, and he instantly made me feel comfortable. I also appreciated that he used actual pressure — in the past with other massage therapists, I have felt that not enough pressure was being used to actually help my tight muscles. I left feeling less pain, and was given a list of self massage techniques to help improve further. In my haze I realized I forgot to leave a tip, but will definitely be going back again and will leave enough to make up for it! Thanks, Alex!

The massage Alex gave me was exactly what I needed, extremely relaxing and enjoyable. He used hot stones and blankets, and worked on my sore spots. He also has very comfortable environment with light ambient music which I liked. I’d recommend him to anyone who needs to relieve pressure of our busy life.

Alex knows his stuff and I highly enjoyed my massage! Especially the hot stones and accupressure. This was my first male massage therapist experience and I don’t regret it!

Alex was able to tell that I had TMJ just by looking at me, how the heck could he tell??? I didn’t even realize you could get a massage for TMJ! So, that was another bonus. He’s definitely interactive and wants your feedback as he strives to do as much as he can for you without the guesswork so be prepared to explain what you need and help him help you.
Alex doesn’t let you leave empty handed. He gave me some useful tips for where my pressure points were to reduce stress and to relieve TMJ pain. In addition, he gave me some exercises I could do at work while sitting at my desk. And his prices are extremely fair for the bay area!

Alex is a therapeutic massage therapist. If you are looking for a «spa experience» or «Swedish massage», you may want to book at an actual spa.
Alex is a healer. I have a serious degenerative disease in the discs of my neck. I am in chronic pain. I have been seeing Alex for 9 months and I will never go to another massage therapist.
Like others. I found Alex through a Groupon offer. This was my 4^th attempt at finding a local massage therapist through Groupon. The first 3 «deals» were either lukewarm massage or plain painful. However, after one visit with Alex, I knew I had found someone who could help me.
Alex is schooled in so many different healing modalities in addition to massage– acupressure, aromatherapy, herbal medicine (to name a few). Like one reviewer noted, he often sends me home with «homework» because healing the body is not some magic bullet that one person or one drug can shoot to cure. It is a process.
The environment at the office is a little different. Often, there is no receptionist (depending on the time) because many different body healers use the space. I repeat — it is not a spa — it is a space for healing the body and body/​mind.
I have been seeing Alex regularly ever since my first massage. I know for a fact that his knowledge and his healing touch are helping me in a way that Western medicine can’t…and, for me, that is priceless.
His massage room is very clean, comfortable and relaxing. I can tell him exactly what is going on with my body and he has a plan. If I am tighter on one side, he will work more on that side because it needs more attention. Symmetrical massage may feel normal for some people but my body does not respond to stress and pain symmetrically — I may have a tight spot on one side near my neck but a tight spot on the other side near my scapula.
Lastly, you may notice that one of Alex’s certifications is in Italian — he is European — which explained to me immediately why he was so open to alternative healing methods. It seems all other countries value solving health problems at the root level and not just slapping a band aid on the issue. Just my opinion:)

I had a wonderful massage by Alex 2 days ago, and I came here to post and was shocked to see some of the negative reviews here. Due to an injury to my neck during birth and subsequent surgeries to my neck, I’ve spent my entire life in a low constant pain and get monthly massages and chiropractic adjustments. Alex worked out all my neck and shoulder pain in one session and left me feeling gloriously light. He even noticed my rotated hips and worked on my lower back muscles to get the hip bones back in alignment. His suite is inside the Dr. Jay Health Center, so just go inside and don’t walk around the complex a few times looking for a separate entrance like I did.

I bought the groupon online but had a very hard time booking an appointment before the expiration date. There are some problems with their online booking system. Even you can make an appointment online, it doesn’t mean that you can get the appointment. Alex emailed me and asked me to change my appointment twice. Due to time conflicts with my schedule, I couldn’t make it to the other time slots that he wants me to go. Now, i have to add $ 45 for the same service I could get if my appointment wasn’t cancelled. Does it make sense?

Alex came highly recommended by a (female) colleague — after much procrastination, I went to him to treat a hamstring injury.
Alex has helped me both with his hands-​on massage and with several suggestions for follow-​up exercises. Lying on his table and having my feet pummeled (in a good way) just reminded me what a wonderful gift massage is. I’m signing up for the monthly discount plan.
Not too many massage therapists know how to «do good» and «feel very good» both at once. Alex speaks the language of the body — for me, he’s been a rare find.

Alex was fantastic. We have had several sessions. He adjusted the massage to emphasize my problem areas, I felt great all over afterwards. And the hot stones near the end were a unique and welcome change to the usual massage. I’ve come back several times.
Probodywork is easy to find in Mountain View very close to Palo Alto, easy parking, it is a clean, relaxed studio.

I have mixed feelings after my massage at Probodywork.
I purchased a Groupon for a one-​hour-​massage with Alex (the price was 55 USD).
It’s great that you can book your appointments online, that was a first positive surprise. You get a booking confirmation as well as a reminder a day before the massage appointment — great!
When I got to Probodywork, it was weird since the receptionist ignored me for two minutes. Then finally she asked who I am, and introduced me to Alex.
Alex was very friendly and made a very positive impression on me. He took me to the clean massage room, and had me fill out a first-​time form, where you can specify areas you would like special attention during the massage, or other areas you would like to leave untouched.
I told him that I feel tense in shoulders and neck, and he promised to give these areas special attention.
Alex is knowledgeable about pressure points and technique, but while he was really nice and attentive (asking often how I was doing, whether I am comfortable, whether the pressure is too much) I felt that there was no «flow».
He performed different pressing techniques with fingers, hands and arms, yet he wasn’t kneading my muscles much. I had the feeling the movements weren’t connected enough. A bit all over the place with different techniques, and though I requested a deep-​tissue massage not really deep enough for my taste.
He did pay special attention to my requested areas, and then moved on to a full-​body massage. Uncomfortable for me was the cold I felt on my feet, even with lying on a warming blanket (I do get cold feet quickly though).
The highlight of the massage were the hot stones that I was massaged with for about 5 minutes, and the hot towels that Alex used to rub off the oil and wrap my face with — extremely pleasant.
All in all not a bad massage, but I certainly had better (try Verde Touch in Mountain View or Orchid Bloom Spa in Los Altos). I did feel relaxed after the massage, but I don’t feel it was deep enough to really release me from my muscle pain for a longer period.

I was extremely disappointed after reading all the good reviews as I had a very different experience. I found Alex to be creepy and completely unprofessional. I was never asked anything about my pain or why I was getting a massage in the first place. Not only did I not receive anything remotely like relief, I was disturbed by our interaction for several days after the appointment — just what I wanted after spending that much money on a sub-​par treatment. I’ve been treated with more respect at a carwash and I would never recommend this person to anyone.

I had a message at Probodywork on Sunday. Alex was wonderful, very professional, very attentive and very nice from start to end. I had a great, relaxing and friendly experience. I felt very comfortable, and I am looking forward to going back.

My brother introduced me to Alex’s services.
Since I have chronic pain issues, I am very careful on who I allow to work on me. If the therapist does not listen to my feedback/​experience or does not intuitively know how my body is reacting, they can inadvertently cause more pain.
Alex is the only massage therapist that I did not have to «correct» even once. He tuned in immediately to my problem areas, and tailored his technique and pressure to my unique situation. I greatly appreciate his superior work to help me achieve my full functional potential.
I can confidently recommend Alex without any reservations.

ProBody Work has been an amazing healthy force in my life.
Leading (stressed, overworked, under rested) life of a silicon valley executive is hard, but seeing Alex regularly has been an affordable and effective investment in my health weekly. The amazing part is that when I finally started taking care of myself, my work improved as well!

I’ve been receiving massages with Alex for year’s now, and he’s great!
Very thorough, and experienced.
He is really great at receiving communication from clients. Whenever I ask for more or less pressure he’s either accommodating or explains to me why less or more pressure would be beneficial or not. Really knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology!
The depth of his massage isn’t maybe in the amount of pressure but (as with ANY massage) in YOUR ability to release/​relax into the healing treatment.
I recommend my friends and colleagues to Alex all the time. They especially LOVE his «Treagger» (sp?) massage!
