I enjoyed our lunch here. It was great I sitting outside, the fries were good, the food was excellent for this type of location. I think the owners switched out or something because the menu had a lot of great things to choose from as well as great bakery items. Service is really nice!

This place should be investigated by the Board of Health. The stink is enough to make you sick — it will stay with your clothes for the rest of the day. One star because they don’t permit anything less.

Strange place. Not a huge amount of options in Mtn View. But most are better then this place. No prices on anything. So that’s always a bad sign. My brisket looked good, but tasted like rubber.

It’s been 2 years since I had a burger & fries at the Shoreline Grill. I left feeling meh & have never returned. First impressions w/the basics are important because if there are flaws in service, but the food is good, then there might be a compelling reason to return for a 2nd try. Especially important, if it’s a burger, sandwich, quick food kind of place of which there are so many of to choose from. Thinking back, I remember telling them that it was my 1st visit & I had a hankering for a burger. My order was taken sans smiles. When called, I went up to get my burger & asked about condiments. I was quickly told @ the condiment bar but it didn’t come with smiles either… The burger was meh, the fries unimpressive & I remember leaving thinking, well — I gave the place a try & as I keep saying, w/so many options out there, there’s no reason to return. Upon seeing a Living Social deal today, I thought maybe… just maybe… but after a quick look via Unilocal to see if anything had changed, I decided I’d rather pay full price for a good meal elsewhere, save for a really outstanding meal or try someplace new. ‘Nuff said.

The burgers are still overcooked, and they’ve changed their french fries to a more bland & generic-tasting style of fries. They’ve still got a pretty good selection of burger variations, but the competition across the street is tastier and cheaper, so I think I’m even less likely to come back here now.

Ok, just to make it simple. There are so many people complaining about the service and all kind of random stuff about this restaurant. Yes, they are true, but so what? This is not a 5 star hotel type of food, it is food that you take it to go or maybe you can call it fast food shop. It is just like how you cannot expect the cook from a street taco shop to serve you everything. That’s why you dont leave a 15% — 20% tip. Unlike all you guys come here for the service, i am here for the food. Philly cheese steak, is DELICIOUS. I like it even more after heat it up again from Microwave, so all the sauce and juice soak into the bread. Yum. If you are like me, come here for the food, dont mind a dirty table sometimes, and have the ability to carry a dish from the counter to your table, I think this is a good place to have your lunch in the middle of your work. 4 start reason. Yeah, 5 star does need a good service or at least everything is clean even for fast food. I agree to take out one star only, because for the price i am paying i dont need a 5 star service.

I had the falafel lunch special. It came with fries or salad and a drink. Fries are the way to go. The Falafel were 3 flattened disks, freshly fried but not good. It didnt have any flavor and wasn’t what I am use to. But a lot of guys were there eating and they all had burgers. So I guess you order burgers here. But if I am gonna eat a burger I’d go to In-n-Out on the other side of the parking lot! Not coming back, it was an impulse trying to support Mom n Pop. But failed.

My coworker had been telling me that shoreline grill has the best burgers. I trust Unilocal, and SG has a low rating so I immediately regretted responding«yes» to her outlook invite for lunch last week. However, I ordered the #1 with grilled onions and it was savory and delicious, got 15% off by showing my costco card at the register and yah, enjoyed my classy burger! Fries with mayo were delicious too!

Shoreline is your basic burger and sandwich place in a strip mall; It is nowhere near the shoreline, nor is it adjacent to the park of the same name. No matter — I heard they offered one of my favorite foods, so I came to check it out: – Falafel plate($ 6.24). The counter lady said«it came» with a side salad and drink but utterly failed to tell me this was $ 2.25 extra. The plate had 3 falafel balls that were more like disks. Kudos for being fresh-fried, but these disks were over-dense, a little dry, and yet tasted too much like oil. An unexpected bonus was the pita — very high quality; thick and fresh.(A real shame with the sad falafel). The plate included yogurt dip but no hummus. The side salad was weak. In the end, over $ 9 for this was a ripoff. 2 stars. Personal note: They insisted on calling it «veggie falafel,» which I found slightly humorous; Whenever I asked them a question about their«falafel» they first replied, «veggie falafel?» every time.(Is there a meat kind? What does the falafel beast look like?) Once my falafel Unilocal duty was done, I made a couple more visits here to check their nominal offerings. Their burger was decent, with better meat quality than expected. But next time I want a burger, I’d just as soon go to In-N-Out, which is directly across the street(and much cheaper) The Philly cheesesteak was large but flavor was a a bit lacking; and it had only a tiny sliver of cheese; They should change the menu name to «Philly Steak.» Most lunch items can be ordered as a combo with salad or fries and a drink for an extra $ 2.25. But as already mentioned, they have a tendency to gloss over this cost factor with newbies. Stick with the fries, or better yet the sweet potato fries, which are an extra buck.

Came here on a friday afternoon w/my friend and my 1 year old they gave me a dirty sticky high chair that should have been my exit but i wiped it and the table down n gave em a try. they were not busy at all we ordered our meals and chose to sit outside. we both ordered the philly cheese steak special w/fries and a drink. they gave us both number placards to place on our table. upon seating ourselves we watched the waitress slash cashier serving meals to tables, cleaning etc, etc. so finally when our meal is ready she calls our # mind u there are 2 people eating inside and 3 tables w. customers outside so as she calls our number we signal to her like thats our food. the lady leaves our food walks outside and says«u can come get your order» WTF? first off ushe served virtually every other table there food and on top of that why leave our food to come to us to tell us to come get it? ok so we get our food and i ask whats the purpose of giving us numbered placards to place on our table if u wasnt going to bring us our food? she says«oh im busy with other customers» wow are you serious? there are 4 workers here and 6 customers to whom youve already served Anyhow, to make a long story short we got our food philly was DELISH but fries were burnt i mean literally burnt! so i request new fries and the lady has the nerve to tell me this is how we make our fries next time request fries not crispy or we will charge u for new ones. i said no, honey these fries are burnt not crispy and how would i know what to request this is my first time here! well im just letting you know she replies straight TUDE! at this point i want to speak to a manager they all say there is no manager and theres no business cards to contact them blah blah blah… just ridiculous oh and did i mention they watched us the whole time while eating!!! HORRIBLEHORRIBLESERVICE O. K philly sandwich place wasnt to clean either

From what I could hear I believe the people working here sound like they speak Thai. I thought Thailand was the land of smiles? Unfortunately, they don’t seem to be in the best mood like another reviewer said. No smiles here. I waited for a good 3 minutes before a frowning girl asked me what I wanted. Geez, let’s start with perhaps a most pleasant attitude? It’s obvious the people here except the boy on the grill HATE their job because they look so pissed off all the time. It’s like this job is beneath them to which I say be thankful you have something at all in this economy. I had a Philly Cheesesteak and it was«OK». I can probably compare this quality to the good old SJSU commons… which is pretty bad honestly. I’m not expecting top cuisine here but the place is just drab and frankly unpleasant. A prominent sign in all caps says«NOPUBLICRESTROOM» as if the area by Shoreline is that ghetto? I mean honestly a moment ago Office Depot let me #1 next door. Why so shady? Well, this place will probably stay in business just from the sheer foot traffic they get. Frankly I’m so disappointed I should have went next door to Costco for a hot dog for much cheaper. The Philly, fries, and a drink cost me $ 10 with tax. What a rip. I mean this is why local businesses shut down sometimes. You get people who work here who don’t understand you’re in a service industry and there’s no reason to look down on your customers, act unpleasant, or feel any sense of entitlement. I will never come back. I hope other people don’t either, but that’s wishful thinking.

My first impression was a run down restaurant. My wife said this place has big portions and good food so in we went. Typical burger/sandwich joint, however they are trying too hard to please too many people. What do you mean you ask? There are multiple choices from deli sandwiches, gyros, salads, hoggies, and their specialty, burgers. Someone needs to tell them to pick a style and go with it. Get rid of the gyros and deli sandwiches and stick with the burgers, chicken, angus beef, and salads. Don’t use hoggie rolls, just the typical hamburger bun. Get new tables as the ones you have now look as if they were designed in the renaissance period. My wife ordered the Greek Cheesesteak, which she had last time, and I got the fiesta chicken; both with side salads which were AWFUL. The wife said her Greek Cheesteak was good but when I took my bite of the Fiesta Chicken it tasted burnt. The chicken breast was small and fatty. The«Fiesta Rub» tasted as if someone put old Mexican dirt on the dry patty. To compensate I went and put tomatoes, onions, and thousand island sauce to trick myself into thinking it was an in and out product… no luck. As I bit into the salad after pouring the dressing I was not amazed when I could barely swallow. The flavor didn’t go well with the sandwich and salad, nor did the dressing with the feta cheese, lettuce, tomato side salad. I left this place hungry an my stomach hurt ten minutes later. The view from the outside, inside décor, food were not the end. The people that worked there did not want to be there. They don’t like their jobs and I will never come back. The sushi place in the same mall is awsome. Go there.

I worked next to Shoreline Grill(at Lee’s Comics) for over a year. In that time I got to know the people there, and they were always REALLY nice. The food was good, and I was a regular there so as soon as I walked in they’d start up my regular order. The food was always fresh, and fast. I’m a vegetarian now, but I loved their Chicken Sandwiches, nicely grilled and very yummy!

On Black Friday my boyfriend and I had the insane idea of grabbing a quick and cheap lunch somewhere instead of staying at home and avoiding the crazy masses of insane shoppers. I was in the mood for a 3×3 protein style In-n-Out burger. Once we got to the parking lot, it was a nightmare. The drive-through line went up until the street and there was no parking for sitting down inside either. We decided to drive into the CostCo parking lot to see what else was in the strip mall. My boy spotted Shoreline Grill and said he’d had a great gyro-style sandwich here before. I failed to screen this business on Unilocal and trusted him(first mistake). The place is pretty dirty looking and could use a top to bottom cleaning as well as some updating. The menu consists mainly of burgers and sandwiches. However, they also had a few salads on there which didn’t sound too bad. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and my boyfriend got his spicy gyro-style sandwich again. I should have followed my instincts and left when we were ordering. The kitchen looked like a mess and not sanitary in any way. Has anyone done an inspection here? Our food arrived and I was floored. My Asian Chicken Salad consisted of chopped romaine lettuce, grilled chicken bits, a few brownish looking rice noodles and two walnut halves. Sauce was served on the side. I was actually brave enough to try what really looked like a chicken caesar with some sort of dressing that resembled nothing what usually goes on an Asian Chicken Salad. The chicken bits had tendons running through it and I had to spit a bunch out again. I was done after two bites, brought the plate back to the cashier and said that there was no way I could eat this. After she asked me ten times if it was the chicken that was bad and I had to keep telling her that it was and that the entire dish wasn’t even close to being an Asian Chicken salad, she reluctantly opened the cash drawer and gave me my $ 8 back. The only reason this place is getting two stars instead of one is because my boyfriend liked his sandwich both times he’s been here. A shower and a colon cleanse is needed after visiting this place! Definitely not going back.

Shoreline Grill has never been my favorite place. While they do make everything fresh, their fries are generally a bit overcooked for me, and the burgers are just average. Recently, however, I’ve been on a high protein diet so I’m not eating the bun, fries, or a lot of the sides. They’ve been really good at not only making my burger as a special order(no bun), but actually making the burger sans bun look very appetizing. That, if nothing else, raises the food from a three to a four.

You have no reason to read my review since I do not review often(or ever). Since I like this place you will probably think I’m the owner or manager using a fake name. Well, I’m not — I’m just a customer, which you can choose to believe or not as you see fit. My son in Portland, OR is a Unilocal guru(or some such word) and suggested I start Unilocaling. Anyway, up til now I’ve had no reason to. I had a burger at this place today and to my great surprise it was wonderful. I’d passed this restaurant many times on my way to/from Costco or Verizon but never ventured in. To be honest, it’s not all that inviting from the outside. However, today I was picking up some stuff at Costco and went in for lunch. I ordered their #1(1⁄3 lb cheese burger with fries and a large soda) — not expecting much.(they also have a handful of «specialty» burgers as well as grilled chicken — I didn’t pay much attention to their other offerings as I was in the mood for a cheese burger). Well, it was probably the best burger I’ve had in 10 years. I didn’t notice how they cooked it but it certainly tasted like it came from a wood or charcoal fire. The patty looked hand(not machine) made). It was very favorable, and cooked to perfection which for me is juicy but cooked all the way through and just a hint of flame crust on the outside. They have a condiment bar with whole leaf iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and some other stuff I didn’t use, along with mustard ketchup etc. The bun was fresh. It came with well cooked fries(the skinny type which I prefer) which were not over cooked(again the way I like them) and they actually tasted like potatoes rather than oil. The whole thing set me back between $ 8 and $ 9 dollars. This burger is very reminiscent of the old Kirks on California Ave, but actually I think Kirks overcooked theirs a bit and they did not offer fries. The only thing I would have liked different would have been Local tomatoes rather than Cisco, Costco or Safeway tomatoes which have no flavor. Hell, this is California in the summer, and if you can’t find a good tomato you’re not trying. Anyway, by now I’m sure you’re convinced I have a stake in this place and have no reason to believe me when I say I don’t — so be it — your loss if you like burgers the way I do. I think I’ll be going back there on a regular basis.

This is located in the costco center, close to Petclub and office max. So you can run all your errands and in case you want a burger this is probably the place to come. There is some outdoor seating and plenty of indoor with flatscreen tvs showing ESPN/sports stuff. The menu has a lot of variety: burgers(featured in many different ways), sandwiches, falafels, salads, and coffee. Prices range from $ 7 to $ 10 depending on if you order a combo with fries and a drink. Portions are generous and there is a condiment bar that includes veggies and sauces. My turkey club was just under $ 8(no fries unfortunately) and was big. They pack the sandwich with turkey and bacon and was pretty delicious. I found the price to be a bit high, i prefer the $ 5 variety sandwiches, but it was good and i’m full. You certainly won’t walk away hungry from this place. If i went back i’d try a burger and fries(they claim their fries are handcut fresh everyday and fried in canola oil, no trans fat). Overall, decent and fairly busy during lunch.

Words cannot describe this place. Seriously. I cannot even categorize this restaurant. Their menus are off the wall… is this place Greek? Mexican? American? Southern? I don’t know. They sell gyros, falafel, ribs, burgers, greek ice cream, salads, hawaiian stuff… I guess you should come here if you are indecisive about what type of food you want to eat. I was extremely disappointed with this place. I saw a coupon in paper for The Big Kahuna for $ 7.99. I went there for dinner and they told me they were sold out for the day! And that’s all I came there for -.- boo. They shouldn’t be called«Best Deli in Mountain View» when they can’t serve their customers what they want. So I split an X-Large St. Louis Ribs… and it was inky dink. They said it was a lot… lies! And it took forever to get our meal. Their fries felt like they were drenched in oil because when you bite into them you feel the liquid oil coming out! gross! I tried their hawaiian banana shake. It was nasty… lumpy and tasted kind of funny. Overall it was a bad experience and very bad service. I give this place only ONE star because their coupons convinced me to go there.
