Smog It Test Center was awesome for getting my smog test done! I called and made an appointment a few days in advance and was in and out in 20 minutes. Super efficient and helpful! Thanks for making the smog test a painless experience!

This is a wonderful place to take your car for its smog check!
I took my previous vehicle to have its final smog check performed here, 10 years ago (when they were located in Sunnyvale), and was so enamored with how well it went that I remembered them when California finally decided it was time for me to have my hybrid vehicle smog-​checked. I called up and was told they weren’t busy, drove my car down, and was in and out in under 30 minutes. $ 50 for the test and the smog certificate (which is sent electronically to the DMV). The owner was nice, explained the whole process to me, and of course pointed out the free WiFi hotspot details.
It doesn’t get any easier than this!

Have taken multiple cars here for years, never had an issues. Always call ahead so you can judge the wait time, there was no wait today. I was done in 20 minutes. Joe is always friendly and professional, have all the confidence that things will go smoothly here. Paid cash ($ 45) and was out the door, no hassle. Will never take my car anywhere else to get a smog check!

I came to Smog It to get my smog test done after getting tired of waiting in line at Quick Smog on Old Middlefield Way. I called first and was told there was no line so I came over and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Very efficient, clean office with pleasant waiting space, and wifi is available. Smog test price (including certificate) for my compact car was $ 45. This is as good as it gets and I’m so happy I came here. I am now a loyal customer and will come here for my oil changes as well. Thank you for your service and for caring about your customers!!!

PROTIP: Call before you go to assess the wait time.
I was in and out within fifteen minutes. With electronic signature to DMV, my total was $ 50 for a smog check. Most efficient place ever.

First time customer, and I was majorly impressed. The owner/​operator? I guess… was the only one around, but now I know why. He didn’t NEED anyone else!
Super fast service, and he even worked with his next door shop owner (A Euro/​Merc auto shop… and since I have a Mercedes) to replace my low beam headlamp for super cheap, and I mean SUPER cheap. Had I gone to Autobahn it would have been … don’t even want to guess.
Back to the smog work. I was in and out in ½ hr. They can submit everything on the fly these days to DMV and take the payments (even my, cough cough… «late» payment), hand over official Registration (temp) documentation, and most importantly, the new registration sticker!!!
Oh yeah… and free WiFi, not that I needed it because he was done so quick!

P. S., I can second the motion that Abhi, below noted, that the owner was super honest in that he too asked me if I even needed the smog because they only require it every other year, I think (?). Of course, I did, but beside the point, how many auto shop owners ask you if you really need repairs/​work done and possibly cut themselves out of doing work? First time I’ve seen that!

I stopped in to get a smog while I was in the area visiting a friend. The owner set the expectation up front that because my car is older that the smog test will be more extensive and a bit of a longer. It wasn’t really much of wait. Provided a professional and honest service.

The proprietor is a very honest gentleman. I took my car to do a smog test and he asked me if I really needed one. I didn’t apparently — my registration renewal notice did not say that I needed one. Even though I said «let’s do it just in case», he insisted I call home to figure out whether I needed it before taking my money. I thought it was very nice of him to do this and I’ll be taking it back here when I do really need a smog check.

I had used Smog It Test Only Center 2 years ago when I last needed to get my car smogged and found them efficient, courteous and professional. Well, they moved from their previous location in Sunnvale and I initially couldn’t locate them,

Recently I made the mistake of using Green Smog Check Test Only Center in Sunnyvale because it was more convenient, WOW, what a mistake !! Not only did they fail my car, but they NEVER specifically explained the cause of the failure. Since I had just recently replaced the catalytic converter my mechanic told me that I needed to drive the car as the ‘Monitors were Not Ready’. Well I drove it around 400 miles and took it back a 2^nd time, and the Green Smog Check Test Only Center has no retest policy, so I wound up paying a 2^nd time, and it failed a second time, and again the clowns didn’t explain the failure.
Finally my mechanic told me where ‘Smog It Test Only Center’ moved and I took my car back to ‘Smog It Test Only Center’ at their new location in Mt. View and the car passed the first time !!!

Best smog place in Sunnyvale Mountain View area. No appointment needed, just stopped by to have them smog my second car. They were quick and very helpful. This is now my go to smog shop.

Best smog place! Honest, helpful, hassle free. I’ve been taking my cars here for years now. This new location is nicer and bigger!

I tried them a couple of years ago before they moved locations, and came back and wasn’t disappointed.
An honest, hard working soft spoken owner (Joe)/ tech and wife run small business.
They did just in time scheduling over the phone, saw me when I made an appointment. The car failed the smog test because of the NOx emission standard change; I was correctly briefed on my options, apparently the state helps to pays partially to have it fixed through select shops after a deductible, and was given the paperwork. I decided to go with my trusted local mechanic, who fixed the problem. They promptly did a «FREE» retest, again with proper scheduling, and only at this juncture did they charge me the certificate fee, which they were careful to deduct the first time around. Charged me as quoted, no hidden fees/​taxes.
Theyr in a new facility, probably need to do some work, maybe a water dispenser upfront in the waiting area, I was happy to find today’s copy of the Mercury news there while I waited. @

I made an appointment and they took care of my car right away. Good service and reasonably priced.

Been here twice, it was relatively cheap and fast. Not fancy, but who cares. Prices displayed on wall.

Dishonest dump that lies to customers.
They quoted me $ 35 for a smog check. I brought them the car and they ran the test. Afterwards they charged me $ 45. I said they quoted $ 35, but they replied with «it’s an extra $ 10 for the license.» I’ll never do business with these liars again.

Fast (15 minutes) and cheap. Turtles were there, as advertised.

Clean, quick, convenient. Plus they have some red-​eared slider turtles to look at in the waiting room. What’s not to like?
