Veksler Academy of Music & Dance – Mountain View

I’ve been taking my two kids (boy 14, girl 11) to Veksler Academy for the last 6 years for piano lessons and for dance lessons. The teachers are professionals and adapt their teaching to the age and personality of each child. The academy also provides great recital opportunities twice a year, which helps the kids build their performance skills and gives the kids a great sense of accomplishment and confidence in their art. I’m happy to say I’m enrolling my third child (boy 6) into this academy. I highly recommend Veksler academy!

I have three children who take vocal, piano and guitar lessons at Veksler Academy of Music and Dance in Mountain View. Each of my children really, really enjoys learning from the teach they have respectively. I would highly recommend Veksler! Mila at the front desk is very quick to help if there is a need to miss a class and schedule a make-​up. The recital’s are excellent and it is a joy to see the children perform.

What a wonderful school! My daughter just finish her first year here learning the piano and taking the dance. She performed at the Dance Recital and had very memorable and amazing experience. We’ve been particularly happy with our piano teacher Ms. Iffat. She really cares about her students. The School Administrator Ms. Nelly is very receptive to feedback and concerns if any. We’ve been very happy with the way she handled any issues and clearly customer service is an important part of her philosophy.

I highly recommend Veksler Academy of Mountain View, and Sunnyvale. The place runs very smoothly and professionally. The receptionist and billing coordinator is friendly and professional. The academies are crystal clean, safe environments for you to drop off your child. If you feel that your child hasn’t been matched well with the right teacher, communicate! My daughter is very talkative and we are a very upbeat, verbal family. At home, we are direct and clear. My daughter first was matched with a very quiet woman who did not communicate much. Her method is a lot of quiet, a lot of hmms …my daughter was miserable. She came out crying, and so I communicated my concerns and they immediately matched my daughter with a different teacher. Her new teacher is Russian, and culturally they are very communicative, verbal, direct people. But her teacher is also very kind and full of life and very experienced. Now my daughter loves piano again! There was nothing wrong with the first teacher, she just did not inspire my daughter. So, please… you need to communicate if your teacher is not a match. Give it five or six lessons and see. I highly recommend Veksler Academy. I really can’t understand why anyone would give a negative review.
As far as the withdrawal policy, you have to read paperwork before you sign. They can’t just have people dropping classes with no notice otherwise they can’t pay their teachers. 8 weeks notice, to me, is plenty of time for you and for them. Back in FL we had a private piano teacher and we gave her several months notice, just out of common courtesy.

This update is late in coming and I have, increased my rating to 4 stars. Here is why. Immediately upon publishing my review I was contacted by Mr. Veksler by email and phone. He reached me mid-​day while I very busy at work and so asked if he could call me later, which he did, several times, as he was very eager to clarify the situation. Both via email and telephone he made it very clear had we wanted to cancel and leave the school due to the broken arm we would have been refunded the tuition. I have no doubt in his sincerity. We’ve been going twice a week to make up the lost lessons. The teacher has tailored the lessons so my son can get the most out of the time (with only one practice day in-​between Tues/​Thurs. lessons it’s hard to progress at home). I appreciate that. I still wish the communication had been clear the first time but this is past us and we will continue here for the foreseeable future.

The school provides a good after school program. Very convenient to have music and dance lessons in one location, especially if you can work your schedule and have kids lessons back-​to-​back. Good location and nice teachers.
Keep up doing a great job, and remember, it’s always the space for improvement!

Our 8 year old son has been taking piano lessons at Veksler since age 5. He loves learning from Mr. Adershir. Veksler is a professional place and I would recommend it highly.

My whole family has been taking music and dance lessons here since the Sunnyvale location opened 4 years ago. I took piano lessons, my husband takes guitar lessons and both our children take piano and dance lessons. They are very accommodating and skilled at figuring out how to best teach and motivate your child. They truly want the kids to love learning music and dance and it shows. It is also SO nice having quality music and dance classes at the same place at the same time! I highly recommend Veksler Academy of Music and Dance!
