History
Established in 2002.
YCIS Silicon Valley opened its doors in 2002 as a non-profit 501©3 school with just a handful of students. Today, we serve over 200 students in Preschool through Grade 5 and are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 2011, we opened a new preschool campus at 199 East Middlefield Road, a short walk away from our Easy Street campus. With the additional space, we expanded our preschool to include a very popular program for two year olds. Although independently registered and operated in the USA, YCIS Silicon Valley is part of a larger network of YCIS schools in Hong Kong and China. The first Yew Chung school was founded in Hong Kong in 1932 by Madame Tsang Chor-hang. Under the vision and direction of her daughter, Dr. Betty Chan Po-king, YCIS has grown into a network of bilingual international schools serving over 6000 students from infants through community college.
