History

Established in 1996.

Tim and Kristen Smith started Windward Shutters, LLC in 1996. Since that time we have grown into the largest and oldest exterior shutter company in South Carolina.

Windward Shutters, LLC started in Charleston provides quality exterior shutters and hurricane protection all along the South Carolina coast. We have provided hurrican protection to thousands of homes, businesses, city halls, fire stations, police stations, schools, hotels, water treatment facilites, hurricane shelters, etc.

Tim Smith and his wife, Kristen met in college and after graduation from College of Charleston formed Windward Shutters, LLC. The business was started from their home on Sullivan’s Island. Since 1996, we have grown and relocated a number of times in the Charleston area to better serve our clients.

We are now located in North Charleston, SC at 4827 Virginia Ave. Our showroom offers examples of all exterior shutters and hurricane protection available. Many of these samples are located on the exterior, providing 24 hour access for clients interested in seeing and operating the many types of shutters available. We offer free in home estimates and also invite you to visit our showroom.

The last several years have proven that Windward Shutters, LLC is here to stay. The housing market continues to improve and Windward Shutters, LLC is growing again. Tim and Kristen continue to operate Windward Shutters, LLC and now have two beautiful children. Come visit us at the showroom!
