We have given Michael Kautz two chances at cleaning carpets. Both times they came back dirty and they are not interested in making it right. Go somewhere else for carpet cleaning.

I contacted Kautz carpets in June 2015 to inquire about having an oriental carpet cleaned. They picked up my carpet to clean it and returned it to our new residence in August. it was rolled with paper within the roll. We had had new hardwood floors installed(a different contractor) and were told to wait a few weeks before we put the carpet down. When we did unroll the carpet we found several dark brown stains toward one end of the carpet. We don’t know if they are chemical stains or burns. I called the store, was asked to take pictures, which I did and I sent them on to Kim at the store on 9÷15÷15, Since then I have called the store several times, without any success, and have left messages for her and for the owner, Michael Kautz. We wanted someone from the firm to look at the carpet and to see if they could remove the stains. They have totally ignored us and our requests. We sent a beautiful, expensive carpet to them to be cleaned. It has been ruined in the process and they won’t even give us the courtesy of a phone call.

There is no stars for a reason! They are the worse contractors I have ever worked with. The carpet was damaged and had to wait to be reorder. The flooring we choose in stock, wasn’t and we had to change it and wait another 4 weeks. The estimate included removing existing flooring and prep for the new one. They didn’t removed it and installed the hardwood over it. The cork under the floor is not installed properly and therefore the floor moves. They wanted to reinstall the original trim, when the estimate was to provide a new one. The trim, let me tell you a 12 year old could do a better job. They broke half of the furniture and the vanity came twice wrong after having provided them with architectural drawings. And lastly the job was going to be done in three days, well after two and a half months it was still not done

While Michael Kautz Flooring Designs may have installers competent to install carpeting, our experience with their installation of high quality laminate in the residence of a disabled adult has been disastrous. Similar to another consumer’s comment in connection with laminate flooring, when the job requires precision or attention to detail they fall short. So much so, that when the Michael Kautz staff failed to return calls for remediation of the problems, I contacted the Alloc Flooring manufacturer’s warranty representative directly to receive a copy of their report and it was then that I learned the reason for Michael Kautz’s silence: Their improper installation of the floor VOIDEDTHEPRODUCTWARRANTY. We are considering all avenues available to resolve this problem including bringing this matter before the Ward’s judge in the probate court for disabled adults.
