Really good, clean authentic Mexican food. Nothing fancy, but delicious. Great chile rellenos, beans, salsa, and enchiladas just to name a few items. Wash it down with their beer specials, or a Mexican coke and you’re good to go. Very reasonably priced.

Mundelein has many Mexican options to choose from but Taco & Burrito Express is my absolute favorite!
The tacos are delicious and traditional. Served with simple toppings and on corn tortillas, you can’t go wrong with any of the options. My favorite is the shrimp. Just had it recently and I can’t wait to get it again.
Their Enchilada de Mole is something made of the heavens. I’m a huge mole fan and theirs is some of the best I’ve ever had. If there is one thing I can recommend for those looking to try some thing new that would be it.
I’ve only done take out which is quick, easy and pretty inexpensive. I look forward to eventually have a sit down meal. The margaritas look delicious.
You won’t be disappointed with your meal at Taco & Burrito Express.

This place is awesome. It kinda looks like a dump from the outside but the food is amazing. Never had a bad meal here. Their burritos are great and the portions are satisfying. The staff is also very nice!

Went here late night and was a little skeptical about the dark restaurant with the plastic chairs! Well I was wrong! I got the nachos with chicken and it was DELICIOUS! The food was ordered to go and it was legit maybe 10 min to cook if that! SOO fast! We also ordered a king burrito which my fiancé said was amazing (he finished it in 5 min it was so good)! Hit up it for sure– highly recommended

Excellent authentic Mexican for a great price. My family and I came in Friday night and were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and food came out hot and fast. We all had burritos and they were excellent. I got the queen burrito with steak and added avocado, grilled peppers and onions. The chicken and ground beef were also great!

Passing by I said to my wife this looks like a little hole in the wall place that probably has good food. She checked Unilocal and the reviews confirmed it, so we turned around and stopped. The servers were courteous and friendly. The Food came out fast, fresh and delicious. My wife and I both ordered the fish taco meals and They were very good. The rice and beans were the best we’ve ever had. They claim to have The best burrito in town, so look forward to finding out next time.

Absolutely my go-​to for casual mexican-​american fare. Decent horchata and great pricing. I usually go with the tacos and like to mix it up between chicken or chorizo. As is always of vital importance, their salsas are excellent. Though I wish they gave you a bit more than the 2 thimble-​sized containers. I always forget to ask for a few more.

When you see a Mexican crowd dining at a Mexican restaurant, you know the place is good!
I ordered the bean burrito and was blown away! The tortilla was so flippin’ good! The bean and the guacamole I added were finger-​licking good. The salsa they gave me on the side was so tasty as well!
I wanted to give the place 3 stars because of the lady’s attitude (I’m guessing she is the owner) but I ended up rating the food only. Tip for the owner: Smile lady! You only got one life to live! :D

Came in here with my husband and father-​in-​law after their baseball season came to an end. We ordered a couple beers, I had a margarita, which I didn’t check the price on, and some really great enchiladas and burritos. Everything was fantastic, except the price of the marg. It was $ 8.50, and tasted like a cheap mix… wouldn’t recommend getting one.
Otherwise the service, food and prices were great!

A wonderful family-​run mexican restaurant. It’s a great spot for lunch with quick service and very good value meals. The tacos are superb, as are the chips you can enjoy while they are being prepared.
The outside appearance and décor are very simple, but don’t let this put you off — it reflects the idea of simply providing good food. Easy to get to from the 45 or 176 with on-​site parking.
