Coconut Bay Cafe

Service is very very slow. I understand that they might be understaffed but it’s a little weird waiting forever to place order, get the check etc. Food was okay. Not many vegetarian options.

I went today for their wing special, they are 50 cents on Wednesday. I got the absolute worst service I have ever had. I didn’t get checked on once during my meal. My server or bartender was too busy taking care of the regulars at the bar. I had to go up to the bar after my meal and request my check. I also ordered ranch and got blue cheese, but never had a chance to say anything. There were a couple of other employees just hanging around the bar and they never checked on me either. I have been there before several times and the service was kind of bad, this was ridiculous though. I will never go back here again, they need to worry about more than their regulars and the bar. I would have said something to a manager, but I didn’t see one unless one of the bartenders was a manager. The food was fine, but the service was ridiculous and it was pretty damn rude!

Back in 09 this place was good to me I went a couple months back because I love layed back atmosphere and wings and I always go to toots which is awesome anyhow this was the absolute worst service I’d ever experienced and the place was dead with just a couple guys at the bar it’s turned into a pretty shady place from the people that are in there customers staff and all the food was mediocre but not horrible although it was very pricey for me my daughter and wife she never complaints but her food was hideous my daughters food was ok my wings were decent at best but horrendous service I’ll never be back

We waited 15 min for a waitress to wait on us but no one ever did so we left without ordering anything.

Went there at 1115 am. There was only a couple AT the bar. We were out looking for something different. It took almost ten min to have a server come over, an extra 30 min on food, and the food was beyond blah. Waste of time and money!

A friend and I were passing through Murfreesboro on the way back to Georgia after attending a Georgia versus Vanderbilt game. We wanted Wings, and had planned to go to Hooters in Murfreesboro, but as fate would have it those plans didn’t materialize. After getting to Hooters, we were told we’d be charged a $ 10 cover charge for some pay-​per-​view Boxing match. We politely declined and headed back to the road. My friend noticed all the TVs as we passed Coconut Bay and whipped it into the parking lot. We were not disappointed. Both of us ordered Wings and agreed that these were some of the best Wings we’d ever had (and we consider ourselves Wing connoisseurs). I ordered Hot and my friend Medium and we both agreed that the sauces were darn near perfect. The wings were crispy and huge! The price was right too. In fact, we talked about how reasonable the prices were, even commenting we’d paid more for lower quality wings in the past. The place itself had a very inviting atmosphere, plenty of TVs to keep the sports fan happy, and the staff was very friendly and polite. Both of us were thankful for that cover charge at Hooters that night because if it had not been in effect, we’d never have found Coconut Bay… Sometimes weird things happen that make things work out better… Can’t wait for the next trip to Nashville because Coconut Bay will be on the «must eat at list.» Excellent food, great prices, and a wonderful atmosphere — what more could a Wing Connoisseur and sports fan want???

This is a great place to go for a date. It’s always a fun atmosphere and the food is really good. Don’t get me wrong, the menu is not full of healthy choices but I think this is where you can find the very best nachos in town. I love watching a game here and playing the shuffle board game!
I’m a big fan of their Long Island ice teas. Give the watermelon version a try. It’s awesome!

Very disappointed. Read reviews and thought it would be nice place for date night. Walked in and music was blasting and middle school kids were dancing on dance floor. We may try again next visit because reviews were good.

Good service. Food is good! The gaming unit is kinda fun when eating alone!

OMG. I can’t believe I have never written a review for this restaurant. This was one of our first restaurant we ever enjoyed in Murfreesboro when we first moved here four years ago.
Tony loves the Tennessee cheese steak with Cheeze whiz… and loves the cheap draft beer. I love the interior, though since we have been here it’s been redone three times. There are plenty of tv’s to watch your favorite sports. Plenty of tables, great staff and large bar area. There is a pool table and darts area (ingredients for a real bar).I love to play buzztime on the television screen. I love trivia games. I can play for hours.
We love going here especially during football season.

Went there Saturday night .Not a lot of people there. Ordered a burger which was good. Wife ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, The meat on it was spoiled. We told out waitress and she sent the manager, We told the manager and she said I just came by and you didn’t say anything. I t was my wife’s sandwich and she was in the restroom. We was told that the meat was black angus and it came in on Friday. We told her we was just giving her a heads up. And we wasn’t asking for anything free. Just didn’t think they should serve bad meat. She act like we was lying and I left it at that. Maybe I should have told her between the both of us .We have 55 years in the food service business.

The food was good good but the hoochies with the shots were non responsive. The manager on the other hand was great. She made sure the jello shots rained on it. The drink specials were good and there was no charge for the UFC fight. Overall the night was good the food and drinks flowed like nectar but the bill was reasonable. Keep in mind mind the voodoo juice was over rated and over priced. The waitresses outfits worked for the environment. Great time.

In Nashville overnight & wanted to try a place that wasn’t a chain. Picked this one because the name sounded fun, it didn’t look crowded and was kind of cute from the road. Inside we were greeted by a girl dressed in shorts & knee-​hi socks. First glance, this place looked like a bar or biker establishment but after you sit down & take a look around you realize there’s a beach hut feel & there’s stuff all over the walls and ceiling. The menu is simple but the food was really good. Fried Pickles w/​ranch dressing!!! Only the 3^rd time in my life I’ve had them and these were the absolute best! I had a chicken dish that was rice with black beans, pico, queso and fried chicken pcs. which was quite tasty. My boyfriend had catfish. We both loved what we ate. The hushpuppies were huge!

Service was horrible on St. Patricks night. Worst excuse for a hush puppy I ever had. Again, not sure what the draw is to this place, maybe the kind of party vibe of the Keys, but falls short I think.

Absolutely love this place! Love the atmosphere, (beach theme) love the food (finger foods & sandwiches) and love the music (all kinds). We’ve been here 2 times now and can’t wait to go back. Went once for lunch, next time was for dinner @ 8pm. There was some B-​ball game on almost every one of the 27 TV’s that I counted… yes, I counted them. :) The night we went for dinner they had a guy there with his guitar entertaining the crowd. It was kinda loud between the guy and all the college guys singing along, but it was still cool.
My boyfriend and I are always looking for a place that has the best HOT wings. We’ve tried so many different places. But lemme tell ya, this place has the BEST wings I’ve ever had. If you like it HOT, get the EXTRA HOT. The 1^st time we went I got hot & he got extra hot. Mine were more like mild and his were hot. The extra hot ones aren’t like, set you on fire hot, but they are pretty damn spicy. The next time we went, we both got extra hot. :) They have specials on Wednesday’s from (can’t remember) 4or 6 pm until 8pm on their wings. It’s 25 cent wing night. They have SEVERAL different kinds of wings too. We’ve also had the spinach dip w/​chips. It was pretty tasty. They serve lotsa different kinds of beer & usually run some kinda special on that too, like 2 4 1.
One of the reasons I didn’t give them 5 out of 5 stars is because the staff is a little slow at giving refills. Both times we went we had to wait. & when you’re hot wings, sometimes you need to wash it down quick. The other is the women’s bathroom stinks. It LOOKS clean, but smells bad. Hell, maybe they’re keeping up with the theme of the beach and bring that into the bathroom. Anyone who’s been to a beach bathroom will understand where I’m coming from. It was pretty rank.
But don’t let that discourage you. Just make sure you go b4 leaving the house. :)
