The Murfreesboro Academy of Music is the only establishment in the area solely dedicated to music education. We are not a retail music store offering private lessons but rather a full time institute comprised of professionally trained and college educated faculty members dedicated to excellence in music education.
The Academy provides a challenging yet enjoyable atmosphere with individualized curriculum plans developed to maximize each student’s potential. Our balanced approach to learning encompasses both traditional and cutting edge teaching methods and focuses on creating well-rounded musicians. The Academy’s curriculum includes an emphasis on technique development, music theory, ear training, composition, and offers numerous individual and group performance opportunities.

Murfreesboro Academy of Music offers private music lessons in Piano, Guitar, Bass, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Voice, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Music Theory, Songwriting, and Audio Production.
Meet the Business Owner
Anna S.
Business Owner
Anna Scholten is the Co-Director of the Murfreesboro Academy of Music. Anna grew up in Nashville and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. She has been teaching professionally for over 8 years including 2 years as an instructor at Tennessee Technological University. Anna has also served as a string instructor for the GRAMMY Foundation in Los Angeles, California and with various summer camps and festivals.
Anna has over 10 years of performance experience including Disney’s Hall of Stars Orchestra, MTSU Symphony, and Blair School of Music Orchestra. She has studied privately with members of the Nashville Symphony and has also contributed to numerous commercial recordings as a session musician and performs regualry for weddings and other special events.
Anna teaches a wide varity of musical styles including Classical, Country, Bluegrass, Irish/Celtic, Pop/Rock, and Gospel.
