We proudly stock a variety of gear for hiking, flyfishing, biking, camping, and paddling. We have also been told we have one of the largest fly tying departments in the area. We have based our gear to the outdoor adventure that you are geared for.

History

Established in 2006.

Appalachian Outfitters of Murphy, NC opened in the summer of 2006. Our love for this beautiful area and outdoor adventure led us to open the doors to an outfitters store in downtown Murphy.

Since opening in 2006 we have expanded and moved our storefront to a large location in the back of the building. We are scheduling for outdoor adventure trips and classes. If you are interested in hearing more information about trips or classes, come into the store or call us.

Meet the Manager

Justin M.

Manager

Justin started in 2012 at Appalachian Outfitters as a spare hand. His knowledge of local area fly fishing and his «No Secrets» attitude has made him a valuable part of the AO Staff. Justin is originally from Hiwassee Dam and worked in Cherokee County and Clay County as a Paramedic while volunteering with local Rescue Squad. This allowed him to learn preventative measures to be used while hiking and paddling. Justin also shares his experience by writing articles for NC Real Outdoors.
