This place is a joke. The problem starts with the guy that works the counter. He talks down to you when you try to explain the problem with your unit. He makes you sound like an idiot. They know all and you know nothing. They had quoted me a price to fix the issues with my vcr. When it was all said and done they could not fix my Vcr and they wanted to charge me almost $ 600. I said that I never agreed to pay them $ 600 for not fixing my vcr. He stated that they would sue me if I did not pay them. I asked him again what he wanted me to pay $ 600 for?. He added they could not get parts and that’s why it was not fixed. I had to involve my lawyer to get my vcr back and not pay them. These guys might as well use a gun to rob the customer. Never go there if you expect to be treated with respect or fairly. Worst experience I have ever had. I promise you any positive reviews are from their friends or employees. All the positive reviews are from people who have never reviewed on Unilocal before and they just happen to take time to do it for this dump. Right.

Perfection! A simple word that describes the quality and care this shop provides to your valued audio equipment. I recently took my 1976 Kenwood KR7600 in for repairs and was given an estimate which to me was reasonable since there are no alternatives made today to the vintage audio of the 70’s (used daily since ’76 and this was service number 2 in 40 years) As always, I was promptly called when finished and the price was lower than the estimate. My receiver was polished, cleaned and lubed inside and all electronic settings verified to factory specs. They returned it to me shrink-​wrapped in clear film and it appeared brand new. Upon hooking it up it sounds brand new as well. No hiss, no static, just smooth sound. Every button and switch works as it should. Thanks Interwest for your care and preservation of fine electronics and allowing me the opportunity to share the beautiful sound, appearance, and art of enjoying remarkable audio with friends and family.

Took a 70s turntable in thinking I needed a new cartridge, turns out all I needed was a stylus because mine was 60% worn (I’m not a pro at vintage audio)… The guy who helped me and might own the place, Randy, was very kind in helping me find a good replacement stylus and not spending too much money on it, but still being high quality. He definitely knows what he is doing and was very precise in changing the stylus, adjusting stylus and cartridge positions, adjusting the anti-​skate, weight on tone arm, and the tonearm itself. He explained to me everything he was doing and it was fun to watch because like I said, he is definitely an expert. Tested it out in the store when everything was said and done, and it sounded great on just a used record. I’m excited to get home after work and try it out! Fantastic customer service, I trusted what he was doing, and he got my turntable back to the way it’s supposed to be. The store also has lots of cool vintage audio equipment, receivers and everything, so it’s a cool store as well! Recommended. Thank you Randy and Interwest Electronics, will be back again sometime.

I took my 1979 Sansui amp into Randy at Interwest to fix the loss of the left channel. He was great to talk with and gave me a written estimate and schedule. It took about two weeks and the fee was right in the middle of his cost estimate and it now sounds as good as new. This is the third time I’ve had my amp into Interwest (it seems the contacts need cleaning about every 9 – 10 years) and they did a great job again. Yes, it isn’t cheap to get this stuff fixed, but I trust these guys and they know their stuff. I wouldn’t take my high end audio gear anywhere else. Plus, they typically have a tempting selection of vintage high-​end equipment on display for sale. Thanks Randy, you rock man!

Pure competence. They know electronics and how to get them working right and looking great. Not always cheap, not always fast, but they get the job done correctly, every time.
My dad and I have sent lots of high-​end items through Interwest, and wouldn’t trust this equipment to anyone else. They always do a great job and they won’t cut corners on you. If you want it done cheap and fast, these might not be your guys (though my last order was done sooner than I expected) — but don’t you dare subject your nice equipment to service anywhere else. These guys are the only game in town that can really keep your electronics basking in their current (or former) glory.

Great service!!! I brought in my amplifier that was not working properly. It turned out to be a small problem and they fixed it on the spot!!! Great value with very good pricing!

I have an antique Zenith console which worked great with exception of the turn table which was completely broken. Randy and his team fixed the turn table and made it work like a charm. They assured that it was just how I wanted it and they guarantee their work. Interwest is a great resource to have here in the Salt Lake valley.

Should of read some of the previous reviews that were written about this place before hand. The funny thing is their «known» for their work. So why couldn’t they perform?
This place is a place full of lies. And the demeanor of the guy that runs this place is laughable.
Charging outrageous prices for work that was not even completed.
I would never recommend this place, nor would it seem those whom had a run in with this place based off their Google reviews.

Zero stars. Zero stars. These guys are about the most crooked theives out there. They don’t fix the problems you take your electronics to them for and expect you to pay them $ 500 anyways. Their excuse is that they could not find the parts. If you say no way they threaten you with collection agencies. Save yourself the headache and the money; go some where else. The guy is so rude in person and on the phone. I don’t know how they stay in business. I will never go there again.

I’ve been a patron of Interwest Electronics since 1982… when, after graduating from college, I returned home to SLC in May of that year with all my worldly possessions (before shipping off to the Army.)
I was having some issues with my 1980 Sansui G-​5700 stereo receiver, and took it in for service… and it’s performed as great… at least up until about 2011… when I had it back in to Interwest for a tune-​up (one channel was dropping power.) Again, great service.
Now, the Summer of 2014… I just had it back in again as the right channel dropped off totally. 7 weeks in the shop, and I finally got the call from Craig that it was ready for pick-​up (no sense in rushing top grade service!)
I now have the receiver back at home and all hooked up, and it is running at peak levels now out to through my dbX 118, to a Teac graphic equilizer and then out to Klipsch Heresy I’s and a Klipsch KSW200 sub-​woofer.
Again, great service and wonderful attention to detail. Thanks to Craig (the «Saruman of Electronics») and the entire staff there at Interwest!

They’ve been around forever. They take time with you on the phone. They know their stuff, inside and out. They’re spewing over with integrity and character. I first patronized them for something or another when I was a late-​teen/​20-​something. Now I’m old and gray and they’re still the first name I think of if I have an electronic device that is broken and is worthy of repair.
If it’s worth repairing, these people deserve your support. You won’t be disappointed.

The only folks in Utah that I’d trust with my gear. If you have any broken electronics, these guys can repair them. If you have any old electronics, these guys can make them better.
They work wonders on high end stereo equipment (which is how I found them). They are serious professionals and they take pride in their work. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.
