Decent food and service. Very disappointed they have chosen to auto add a share portion fee of $ 10.00. An empty extra plate cost $ 10.00 without notice. Not the money but the waitstaff should have made us aware.

This is the best seafood in Myrtle Beach. We visit Myrtle at least 5 times a year and can’t wait for our trip to drunken jacks. If you are a fan of raw oysters you must try them here. The creek shrimp is a must and the chef special has never dissapointed. Great food.

This is my absolute favorite goto place in Murrells Inlet. We always start out by going down to the(family friendly) lounge and listening to Justin whale away at Brown Eyed Girl while the kids dance, then when the buzzer goes off, which we’re almost reluctant to leave the lounge, we head upstairs for great seafood. After dinner, the walkways are there around the marsh to relax, have a drink and enjoy the ambiance. But at Drunken Jacks, we have the best memories. Thanks y’all, see ya in the Spring!

The view is nice if you sit outside, but unfortunately the food is just simply not good. Especially not for the prices they charge. Not exaggerating when I say they had the worst she crab soup I’ve ever had.

Was here n ordered the oyster basket. it came out with 6 oysters surrounded by 80% breading… sent back because even then the breading wasn’t cooked. the bar manager came out and I explained what happened and asked if he looked at them… he said no… I was appalled. as he showed complete indifference and acted like it was no big deal… needless to say will not be back.

We were looking for a place to eat with a water view, Drunken Jacks delivered big time! We were told 30 minute wait which ended up being only 20, awesome! Drunken Jacks Sampler to start was on point with each individual piece done just right. Good enough for 4 adults. Blue Moon and orange slice were fresh, the way you want it. I had the Steak Neptune; Steak was perfectly medium rare and seasoned expertly, scallops were tender and not overdone, shrimp were juicy but the lobster was a touch over and rubbery. Still very very good! If you’re looking for seafood in Murrells Inlet, this is the place to go!

Great atmosphere… Friendly service. Really good appetizers at bar area. Salad bar is one of the best on the Marsh Walk. Clean and a good variety of choices on salad bar. Ranch dressing is great. Drunken Jacks is always on our(go back to) list. Oh and don’t forget the popcorn in the bar area… delicious! great while having a drink at the bar and yes great bartenders.

Another stop at Drunken Jack’s and I just love this place the more I visit. First off, you get a beautiful view of the inlet and goat island while seeing boats and people come in and out. It makes for a nice relaxing meal. We stopped for lunch again and I was still impressed. Menu prices were great especially for the quality of food offered. I ordered the special of the day, which was Mahi Mahi tacos with a mango salsa. They were to DIE for! The BEST fish taco’s I’ve had from anywhere. The mango salsa was the perfect compliment to the white, flaky, just cooked perfectly Mahi Mahi. I also thought the Mexican rice and black beans paired well with the meal and were quite tasty. My 2.5 year old loved the rice and ate most of it herself. The rest of my party was happy with their meals and drinks. Our server was fantastic and I wish I would have gotten his name as he went above and beyond! He was very engaging and seemed to really enjoy his job. I would highly suggest a stop at Drunken Jack’s just be forewarned at night it does get really busy and there usually is a wait. This is one reason we go during the day to avoid the long lines.

Went on a monday in july waited an hr and a half. Got a buzzer so we were able to walk the marsh, they have a store called lazy gator across the street which is cool to go in. the hostesses were like you’re lucky you dont have to wait three hours like usual so i guess what we had for a wait was not bad. After walking Around and shopping we decided to go to the bar here. The bottom two floors are for the bar. I think they should open up it for restaurant seating so that people won’t have to wait as long because there were plenty of tables open in the outside area and maybe people want to sit out there .the downstairs area(bar) had live music and I saw a lot of people getting popcorn themselves. The bar outside area is nice, the bar seating is overlooking the marshes. really pretty. the service is fast and the waitresses and bartenders are nice. They have goats across the way to that the place owns and someone feeds. Its cool to look at. Drinks were good we had the ultimate piña colada at the bar while waiting as well as the jack palmer. Both very good. We had two apps one was the sampler the crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon was good same with the crab fake and bacon scallop the beef was good but sauce paired w it was to peppery for my taste. The hushpups w the lime honey butter was the second app and it was good. I just wish i was told that when u go upstairs to eat(Which the waitress saw our buzzer) the hush pups are free! So i have no clue why i paid for them!!! You do however get a lot of food good quality for a decent price. We had a good experience at bar w apps and drinks then we went upstairs to have dinner. My husband and i both got the risotto. It was two scallops blackened mahi mahi and lobster crab risotto in a cream sauce. Soooo good! Nice portion! Cheaper then jersey prices would be for this. It was such a good dish! We got salad bad included. Great salad bar! When u leave u get silly pirate hats which are a cute touch and some yummy mints. Parking across street fills up quick infront of place. Didnt do dessert got ice cream across way but they had plenty of options. Cute cat that roams around friendly has collar lays on front lawn of place. Its a nice place. Id go back. :)

Visit several times a year and have consistent experiences. Wait time varies significantly during peak season. Downstairs bar with live music and attentive wait staff saves the day making waiting 2 hours easier. Food is always good. Recommend chef’s special regardless of what it is. Last two visits have included swordfish with scallops and most recently Cajun grilled mahi. Salad bar and famous hush puppies are a must. Will continue to visit!

We have a family of 5, one child is 4, and the other 8 months. We knew there would be a wait, but have eaten here in the past and knew it would be worth it. There were plenty of things to see and do outside as we waited(they even have goats on the island). Our server was Jamie, and just let me tell you, I’ve never met a nicer or more professional server. My husband stepped outside of his comfort zone and tried the trigger fish that was recommended, it was fabulous. My children are HUGE fans of the hush puppies with the sweet butter. Hopefully we’ll get back here next year!

We arrived around 3:40pm not know that the dinning area opens at 4pm so we sat in the bar to pass the time. As we sat, we just decided to snack on something and just have a drink. The bar is opened for the day from 11:30am to when they close at night(I discovered that the restaurant closes between 2:30pm to 4pm, not the bar). I did not eat a lot as I was not hungry. However, I tried their Mozzarella Sticks(good) and a basket of their World Famous Hushpuppies(great), which came with this sweet tasting light butter(Yum!). Some in my party kept wanting to grab more of these hushpuppies from my basket, as they also realized it was good too, but after a while, I think they got their own(I am not sure though). For drink, I had a Pina Colada Daiquiri which was also really good(it came in a very tall glass too). I noticed on the menu, that they had certain items checked as «Gluten Sensitive Offering» and then it also stated to notify your server — this information is located at the bottom of the menu. The bar area is indoors, but they also had an outdoor area as well, if you want to watch the view of the marsh and see boats come in or just people watch. Parking is not plenty, however, they do have spots across the street if the lot is full(it is labeled«Drunken Jack’s additional parking). If we visit the area again, we will certainly try dinner.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would without thinking twice. When my party of 12 came around 5:20pm we were told by the hostess it would be 1 hour and 45 minutes until we could be seated, but with such a large party we would be split into two tables, okay no big deal. So as my party and I waited we decided to hang out in the back bar area, take a walk on the marsh walk, and some of us hung around the dockside. There’s plenty to do while you wait, but when an hour and 45 minutes passes and you haven’t been called yet you begin to wonder what exactly is going on. So when one of us had gone and asked the hostess how much longer she said about 30 minutes. We did not hear anything again until 7:45, which was only six of us could be seated and they were waiting for the other party at the other table to leave so the rest of us could be seated. Okay, so six of us had gone up. As six of us went up we passed two large empty tables that I could not understand why we weren’t just sat there, but I proceeded to the table not asking questions. We were sat and waited on immediately but the server understood we were still waiting for the rest of us to join before we ordered. A few minutes go by and the party, who we are waiting to leave, has already paid and is just hanging out. So one of our members went and spoke to someone about asking them to leave and they refused to do so, so he took it upon himself to speak to the party politely about our situation and as soon as he was done the manager came up to that party and said to them to stay as long as they would like. I then got up and went to speak to the manager myself. After him arguing with me for about 5 minutes I left out of pure utter disgust of such a human being. Instead of APOLOGIZING for such an inconvenience this all caused, he kept blaming my party for wanting to sit«split up» and there was«nothing he could do». When I brought up there were two big tables for us to sit at he simply said«we did not want to inconvenience you all to move» and I brought it to his attention that those two tables were ready when we walked in he cut me off and repeated himself about«inconveniencing us». Not only did he continue to make excuses and point the finger on everyone but himself, he chose to continue to argue with me as if I was wrong about this whole situation. He claimed that party had every right to stay as long as they would like because they waited an hour and 45 minutes to be seated. I said I understood, but why could they not be asked to move down to the bar area since that’s where MY party has been waiting for almost 2 and half hours. He then told me we have not been waiting that long and I said to him that we have been there since 5:20pm and it’s 5 minutes before 8pm and he shook his head and told me that we have not been waiting that long. Are you kidding me? You do not treat your customers like that. I nor my party will ever go back here again. I can not believe such a person manages that establishment, but than again by the number of stars and the negative reviews this place has it’s not a shocker to me. The food is also overly priced. There are tons of other restaurants along the marsh walk that are worth your time and money.

Wonderful place. A must go! Came here with a group of 19 as we’re on a family vacation. They told us a 2 hour wait which we expected because they were busy and we are a large group. Didn’t take that long though and they had stuff to do outside on the walk. They did have to split our group up into two tables which were close by. We were just fine with that. The server for our table was Heather and she by far gave the best service I’ve had in a long time. To the point Im suggesting people request her section. I wanted to try a new fish and she suggested the Trigger Fish which was the chefs choice… Absolutely amazing. I have not a single complaint and my compliments go to the chef on that dish. Overall an amazing experience. Thank you Heather.

I had the lunch special salad and coffee. They really do it right, salad has strawberries cranberries, egg, grilled shrimp crumbled blue cheese with a light and sweet vinaigrette. Truly perfect. Coffee was just as good as any coffee shop. The service was incredible. Not one employee walked by without checking on me. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This was the fastest service I’ve seen south of the Madon-Dixon line without feeling rushed! Great Job!

Avast ye land lubbers and set sail for the salty marsh walk of Murrels Inlet! Tis a fine ship Jack drunkenly sails upon, for the bar is long and stout. It’ll make a thirsty one smile, for they’ll nay’er go without. With cozy heat and a padded seat, the musician will bend yer ear. And with a full crew on deck, at yer beck, going hungry is not a fear. It’s said that Jack drank himself to an early demise. With a bar as large and comfortable as this one, I can see why. A game on TV, live music, and a bartender who makes a decent painkiller was all I could wish for this time out, and all my wishes were granted. Huzzah!

You have to be strategic and not go during peak season or just be prepared to wait. We have had fantastic service and food here every single time! This has become our go to place to eat when we are near MB. Would love to see them do some renovations. Food deserves a nicer venue.

Drunken Jack’s has been a popular spot for the locals of the South Carolina coast as well as a hotspot for the tourists of Myrtle Beach. Located on the marshy waterways of Murrells Inlet, the restaurant is along a strip of Hwy 17 lined with seafood and fish houses. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The lunch menu is just a smaller sampling of the more expansive dinner menu with seafood platters, sandwiches and salads. We both ordered Po Boy sandwiches. I went for the soft shell crab version, a single breaded soft shell crab served on a buttered hoagie roll with lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce. I am a sucker for anything with soft shell crab and I liked it better without the bun. I had the sweet potato fries on the side which weren’t my favorite. I am not a crinkled fry type gal– they somehow remind me of those frozen fries you buy at the grocery store but Chad really liked them. Chad had the Flounder Po Boy– a large piece of spicy Flounder also on a buttered roll with lettuce and tomato. He chose to have it blackened which made it a little spicier than the grilled version offered on the menu. He ordered the steamed veggies as a side– green beans, carrots, cauliflower and red peppers in a light buttery sauce. So much better than the crinkle fries. For an extra $ 3 we both opted to add a trip to the salad bar with our meal. The salad bar wasn’t huge but it was filled with toppings like tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, broccoli and beans. Well worth the extra price. While the food was all around fresh and delicious, it was the views that stole the show. We ate lunch while we watched boats come and go through the inlet and pelicans diving for fish in the marsh. The dining room upstairs provided the better views, the lower level is a full service bar and an outdoor dining area. There are other seafood restaurants in Murrells Inlet we would like to try, however, we would both recommend Drunken Jack’s to anyone visiting the Myrtle Beach area. We would look forward to visiting again in the near future.
