We have been back every time we come to South Caroline. A trip would not be complete without a visit. If you are looking for Ice Cream this is the place to go with out a doubt. At this point was have had just about everything on the menu at least once and not a single complaint. Pick whatever looks good you can’t go wrong.

We were highly recommended to try Painters by friends who said it is a family tradition. Since we love ice cream it was at the TOP of the list of places to try. In fact, we had ice cream at both of their locations as we saw the one on the Hwy first not realizing there was a location on the beach. On our first evening at Surfside we were a party of 4. Included in the mix was our Godson, Kevin, a Senior at CCU who we made the trip to visit. Three of us 2 of us had Specialty Sundaes – Oh So Delicious;) and 2 had ice cream. We enjoyed it so much that 3 of us returned a few days later visiting the Beachfront location we happened to pass by on our travels. Painter’s Ice Cream is delightful. Both locations were clean and servers were friendly. Beachfront location had just one server handling both Ice Cream and Pizza. Could have used more help there. But maybe someone had simply just stepped out a moment before we entered the place?? – Regardless, we enjoyed the ice cream and loved sitting on their deck out back and watching the waves roll in. We will def return to Painter’s if in the area again which we hope to be.

Best ice cream around! Loved the toasted coconut, the Oreo, the pumpkin, and the pistachio almond. All homemade all yummy. Went 4 times in one week! Generous scoop size! They do have a list of favors that are gluten free if you need it. The family loved the coffee flavor! They have indoor and outdoor seating.

We were glad to discover that Painters had opened a store on US17 with adequate parking. The Garden City Pier location with problematic parking may still be open. Their ice cream is excellent with many choices, including sugar free. The store is very new and clean and the staff is good. I noticed a selection of ice cream cakes and pies.

Simply the best ice cream in town. Painters Ice Cream offers handcrafted authentic and creative ice cream options with a multitude of savory flavors that change on a regular basis. They pride themselves on giving you just a couple of additives to a regular ice cream set up but use amazingly flavorful ingredients that give you give your taste buds a run for their money. For instance, when they make their cookie dough ice cream they literally cut cookie dough out of the dish and plop chunks the size of your thumb into the ice cream. Not to mention its a great deal because they plop down a good amount of scoops in each cone, really getting it to the bottom the sugary flaky greatness that is the waffle cone. Lines can get long in those hours between dinner and sleep, but it is certainly worth the wait and the staff moves quickly throughout the entire establishment, sliding employees down one person at a time making sure they get the full orders ready for you guys and served up brisk and frigid. The staff is very friendly and quick to give you a sample or make a recommendation and don’t feel intimidated about making a few mixes with the creamy options either.

Awesome homemade ice cream. Available in regular cone, waffle cone, waffle bowls, or just a plain old bowl. Staff was very nice, and efficient. Line was out the door when we arrived, but we had ordered and received our ice cream within 5 minutes. Place was clean with plenty of seating. Came here on a recommendation from a local and was not disappointed.

Very good ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose from and some good looking cakes too. Of the three favors sampled by our crew the red velvet seemed to be the best.

We came here twice and both times the girls working were super friendly and the ice cream was great. We didn’t try any other places, but can’t imagine that they are better. We will definitely come back here when we are in the area!

This was the best ice cream I’ve ever had! We even came back the next day because it was so good. A must go if you are visiting the Myrtle Beach area.

I didn’t realize how many ice cream places there were in Myrtle Beach. I would have eaten less dinner to try more of them. Painters is great, fresh, homemade ice cream. As soon as you walk in, you know you will have a hard time deciding what to get, when you see people with all different sundaes and shakes and bowls in their hand. I tried several flavors, all great. Decided to get their strawberry sundae with bananas and strawberry ice cream and syrup. Nothing weird or crazy, which is good, just very creamy, fresh tasting ice cream. It’s hard to find that these days. I grabbed a cool tshirt there too.

This is nice ice cream. Its one of the only places near Myrtle Beach that actually has home made ice cream thats not too over sweet. Try the Orange Pineapple.

Painter’s has the best ice cream in the Myrtle Beach area. The prices are a little higher, but definitely worth it to have a homemade treat. They always have at least 15+ flavors to choose from, along with sundaes, frozen chocolate bananas, and lots of different soft serve flavors. Get there before the line runs out the door!

We were looking for a good spot to stop at for ice cream after dinner. I found this shop on Unilocal and gave it a shot based on previous reviews. Friendly staff and affordable prices made it the right spot. If you are looking for a good ice cream spot then stop in here…
