I am the new owner as of July 1, 2014.

I have been involved with vehicles my entire life. I started working on cars at a repair shop to pay for college. The two great owners there taught me to troubleshoot and to take my time and fix things right.

I own several motorcycles and do all of my own work because I understand the frustration of things not being repaired correctly, or the work being done sloppily. This same set of values is what I now use at American Auto Care. Although I do not directly do the car repair, I ensure that each of the certified mechanics on staff have this same attitude when working on your car.

Our goal is to be honest and fair, affordable and fix things right the first time.

Called beforehand for some exhaust work, & was offered 8.50 $ to weld shut a hole. When I took my car behind the shop, they tried seeing if they could fit a bolt in there. I said if they can just weld the bolt into it so it’s easier on them then I don’t mind. Old white guy then told me to step into the office to talk about numbers. It went from 8.50 $ to 150 $ to retap the hole, drop the exhaust to weld the hole and put it back together. He then said that it’s already 45 minutes into the work when they didn’t even touch the car. I declined, and he said, «if you aren’t happy about the price, I can drop the car and you can go find yourself someone else to do it.» Left the shop right after that. A simple job that could’ve taken 10 – 15 minutes took almost an hour just to take a look at the car. Found another place that did it for free.

Very friendly and honest, took my 97 Integra in to get smogged and they let me use their $ 26.70 coupon even though it was an older car. My car failed due to a minor problem, so I took it home and fixed it myself. I brought it back a few days later and they did a free retest for me even though I did the repairs myself. I will be going back to them next time I have car trouble.

Great service and honest people! Mike was incredibly kind, looked me in the eye and shook my hand, let me sit in an employee’s chair because the waiting room was full, and offered me their WiFi password to make my wait more enjoyable. Joey, the female tech working there, was really friendly and finished smogging my car very quickly. The waiting room was clean and air conditioned, with vending machines, magazines, and water to boot. I’d recommend this shop to everyone I know, and I’ll definitely be returning the next time I need any work done on my car!

I am the original owner of my car. This year when my registration was due it required a smog check uuuuhg! So I went to Google and found these guys. Mike set me up with a same day appointment over the phone. He was friendly and even helped with directions. When I walked in they were quick friendly and efficient. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Nice welcoming little shop. They offered to put a movie on for my son and had snacks to keep him occupied. Great job guys thank you :)

My Honda Civic’s AC went out, of course when it’s over 100 degrees all week. Mike explained the price estimates up front without me having to ask & then fully explained the work to be done. I felt comfortable, respected & not ripped off. Great shop!

Mike, the owner is an engineer by trade and is extremely passionate about cars in general. He makes sure you understand what’s going on with your vehicle and why it needs to be repaired. It’s rare to find a mechanic that is attentive and trustworthy. It’s also a great, cheap place to get a smog test. Check them out in Murrieta!

Amazing service I am definitely going to be making then my go to auto place. Mike helped me out and he was awesome he is the actual owner. The place feels very unique and personalized, not just one of those quicke places you can go to but always wonder if it was quality. Not only good timing too, but exceptional quality! Nice workers too! The owner Mike really cares about your car and about its general health and he’s not out to overcharge:)
My car feels GREAT to drive now!
Only bummer is that their location is a little bit hidden in a corner off of Jefferson Road but it’s worth finding it!

Terrible service so far. I had my car towed here because of low oil and a check engine light and didnt know if there was a greater problem. I wanted them to add oil first to see if that helped and then go from there. I’ve been waiting for 40 min and they won’t give me an ETA for when they can simply just add oil to my car.

For over a year I have been a customer at this shop and I have nothing but very favorable input. Kurt sold me a used car, which he had babied and its been nothing but great. The routine maintenance (including new shocks) were handled by Mario and he saved me money over some other quotes at shops around town. Also I bought a used car elsewhere which needed a lot of work and this is a testimony to their honesty there: Mario and Kurt identified specific components in the CV axles as the problem and saved me several hundred compared to other scams around town which I wont name. Kurt and Nicole have great relationships with the parts dealers (I hear him as he is quoting parts) and he has landed a better deal than anyone else, each and every time I have gone to him. I’m shocked at the other reviews I’ve read, and frankly I don’t believe they are legit.

Took my new to me car in for a checkup. Needed a new clutch, and fly wheel. That is a very expensive repair. Nicole did a great job finding the parts and making this as cheap as it could be for me. Mike made sure my repair went smoothly and all happened in a very timely manner. Mario repaired my car as if it was brand new!
The family feel, great prices, and professionalism is how a GREAT business is ran! I am VERY pleased and will be bringing all my vehicles here from now on!

Total complete lies and scam! This place always gave me the cheapest quote and always said they could get me right in but they always made me wait and had some excuse why they couldn’t do the job. Last time I went there it was for an alignment. They said I could get right in and would take about thirty minutes. After two hours of waiting they told me I needed the camber kit to get it aligned. I bought my own camber kit and installed it myself then brought it back for an alignment. They said it would take thirty minutes so I got some lunch and killed time walking around, two hours later I went back. My car was moved to the back of the shop just being stored. They told me there alignment machine was broken and that I’d have to make an appointment for another time so they could take it to a current shop and the price went from 60 to 95! Why didn’t they tell me the machine was broken when I called?! I took my car next door to my other mechanic and he told me that lift has been broken for two years. This place will most likely hold your car for a long time and scam you. It also explains why there are so many cars sitting around behind the shop.

— Least expensive smog check out of 3 local shops that I contacted.
— I was in and out in approximately 45 min.
— Military discount.
— Courteous staff member Kurt put me ahead of people who had dropped off their cars when I told him that I would wait.
— Comfy waiting area with sofas and desk.
— I immediately renewed my registration at the DMV afterwards and the smog check was already in the system.

This shop is located in the back of a business park. I called ahead to make sure they could do a quick oil change and was told they could get me right in. I had to wait for «express» service while both mechanics watched You-​tube videos on the computer (see photo). After waiting 20– minutes for them to start the oil change, I said I had to leave and couldn’t wait any longer. The boss then made one of the mechanics get up and do the service. There was only one other customer in the shop, but she was happy watching soap operas on the plasma TV in the office during her wait.
UPDATE: The owner should not have told me he could get my car right in. He lied from the start when I told him I had a short window of time before I had to leave for work. What kind of management lets BOTH mechanics take lunch at the SAME TIME when you have customers waiting on the lobby. Yes, I did go in the work area to see what was taking so long when they said my car would be right out. If the owner had been honest and said they were at lunch, I could come back another time. But he lied. It is what it is.
