J’s Barbershop

Doug did a great job with my 5 year old. He spoke to him and explained the process so my son was calm and didn’t fidget too much. They take their time and do a great job– you can sense they take pride in their work here. Will definitely be back!

I’ve search for a traditional barber shop for a while and the search is now over. Me and my son both get our haircuts here and leave happy. We’ve only had the opportunity to use Doug and Maria for our haircuts and not a single compliant when we are done. Doug is awesome with my 5 year old, remembering his his hair style and ensuring the back of the neck and behind the years are all cleaned up and Maria ensures that the style is to my liking before i leave the chair. We both get traditional military style haircuts. We both enjoy that they use electric razors on the sides of our head to us with a fresh and clean look. If you are looking for a nice, kid friendly barber shop, than this is your place.

Nicole always does an amazing job on my whole family! My daughters bangs, my cut and color, husband and sons fades are on point! I love J’s family environment. If your looking for a killer fade go see Nicole!!!

I love going to Js for my hair cut, color, style by Nicole Kelley. I leave there looking like I just left an upscale salon. Nicole is my favorite but everyone else is friendly too, especially Doug!

Js barbershop is the place to get a great haircut and great service was friendly and on Tuesdays & Thursday two for 20 you can’t be that value won’t go anywhere else.

Cool, old barber shop feel. They do everything from simple cuts for men to cuts and colors for women. Kid friendly with lots of cool toys for them to play with. Even a model train that runs around the shop on an elevated track! I go on Sunday mornings to see Nicole and she does a great job with my hair as well as my two young boys. She also cuts and colors my wifes hair. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Went to the Murrieta location last week. My 12 yr old son likes the longer look and I speciffacly told the girl this and said just trim it up and don’t cut it too short. Well she cut his hair so short that my son didn’t want to go to school the next day. My son is not vain at all and would usually blow this off. He even pointed out his side burns were crooked. This was just a really bad haircut all around. Not sure why the girl didn’t listen or if this was lack of experience. The last time we were there they also cut his hair too short, but was nothing compared to this. Had different girl last time. We won’t be back. Unfortunate as the price was right. Guess get what you pay for. Inexperienced staff.

The staff here are all very friendly. Cute little shop tucked away in the corner. Went to Crystal for a Brazilian blowout treatment. She did such a wonderful job. Took her about 4 hours to complete the Brazilian since I have very thick hair. One thing I noticed is that she is VERY gentle when she works. I greatly appreciated that since I hair frizzy tangled hair and other hairdressers tend to pull and yank to do any process to my hair. But Crystal was able to work with my hair without any pulling, it was almost relaxing to have her do my Brazilian, that’s a first for sure! I def recommend her for a Brazilian, good results, and treats your head with respect lol
PS. The Starbucks in that shopping center is an added plus, hit Starbucks for a yummy drink and get your hair did at J’s!

Doug did an awesome job! Great attention to detail and very easy to talk to. He made me realize how much work goes into a professional men’s haircut. It’s all about the small details and he definitely didn’t rush or take any shortcuts. Will definitely be coming back!

Js Barber Shop is a family friendly location that gives quality haircuts. My son and I both get our hair cuts there and we are always satisfied. If you go to Js, ask for Lorena. She is the best. Won’t let anyone else touch my hair since finding her.

Doug is the man. Always has been and never disappoints. The entire staff has always been super friendly and always make you feel welcomed. Never a long wait, and always a good haircut. The new shop offers a newer look but still the friendliest staff.

After a very bad hair cut experience for my son right before important pictures I asked all my friends for recommendations. Most of them said try this place. After realizing it was only two miles from my house I decided to give it a shot. My mom, son and I went in for a trim for him. He was instantly happy with the play area. Lorena put both of us at ease and we have been going back every six weeks for almost a year now. She always remembers my sons name and how to cut his hair. Just bring cash or check because they don’t take credit cards.

My husband has followed Doug to J’s Barber shop and has been coming to J’s for years. My kids have gone to Nicole and Virginia recently and both do a great job. Always friendly and accommodating. Great books, toys & a train for the kids to keep them occupied. Love this place.

I would give a review on the job they did, but the barber refused to cut my hair… I went in and simply asked if the older man was good at doing fades… he was very, very rude back to me and told me I would just judge him and said he would not cut my hair. He even told me toI was not welcome and to leave… Ive never been treated so badly in my life just for wanting to get a cut. Very unprofessional and I dont know how he is in business with that type of customer service… Go somewhere else

I live in Seattle (there’s something funny about this, but I’ll get to it later). But, whenever possible, I get my haircuts here.
First of all, the customer appreciation and recognition here is amazing. I usually come home to Murrieta a few times a year; this year, it was 8 months before I came back. In that time, J’s relocated to a new (sightly bigger, less cozy) location. I was worried that my favorite barber wouldn’t be here, but lo and behold she was! She remembered me! After 8 months! It’s very comforting to be able to get on a plane, fly 1200 miles, and still come into a place you don’t frequent *that* often and still be greeted with hospitality and recognition. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name. I’ll update when possible.
As far as the actual hair cuts go. they’re perfect. They look good when you walk out of the shop, and continue to look good for a while. This is not something I’m used to in Seattle; haircuts either look good for a week or «take time.» Not to mention it’s pretty cheap; $ 14 for a men’s haircut? Yes, please!
The shop itself is pretty nice; all the decorations carried over from the old store. Personally, I preferred the other one because it was a little cozier. the new place feels a little too big.
Back to Seattle. apparently my regard for this place was so high that I unconsciously chose a barbershop with the EXACT same name! Sorry to say the one in Seattle doesn’t come anywhere near.
Would I recommend giving this place a try? Yes, definitely.
