Established in 2008.

We have over 20 years experience in the garage door industry. There really isn’t any problem we haven’t seen. We have worked with all types and models of garage doors and openers over the years and feel confident we can take care of any problem you may have. We do both repairs of existing garage doors and openers as well as installing new ones. We can also come out and service your garage door or opener and bring it back to performing smoother and quieter. We are a family owned and operated business that really values integrity and honesty and we truly care about our customers!

Hi my name is Mike and I am the owner of Overhead Door Solutions. I started my company in 2008 after years of working in the industry for another garage door company. I felt it was time to branch out on my own when I started my family. I enjoy working with my customers and meeting all kinds of new people each day. I love it when I can help someone and I can tell they really appreciate it. I have the utmost integrity when it comes to being honest with my customers and telling them what they really need even if it means I won’t be making money for my business. I needed a 2 car garage door repaired. After meeting 3 other door repair companies that told me the door could not be fixed and needed to replaced $$$. I was thinking wow the door isn’t that messed up to be replaced with an entire whole door and hardware? So I called Mike at Overhead Door Solutions and if he said I needed a new door then that would be what I needed to do. Well, Mike said he could fix it and he did! I have just called him to fix my small garage door now and I am confident he will do a great job. It is nice to find an honest person that you can count on. Thanks Mike! ;)

I called Mike at Overhead Door Solutions after my Genie Pro garage door opener broke one morning. He gave me a quote over the phone and was available the same day! Price was very reasonable and Mike was very personable. He showed me what had broken and explained some simple DIY maintenance to keep it in good running order from here on out.
The garage door is now whisper quiet and runs better than ever.
I recommend Overhead Door Solutions to anyone needing fast repairs at an honest price.

Overhead Door Solutions impressed me. A friend’s rental property in Murietta had the garage door spring break. I read through reviews on Unilocal for this business and a few others. I then called and obtained verbal quotes as to how much we could expect to pay and asked about availability for the next day.
It was already passed 6pm, when I first called, I got the voicemail. I hung up without leaving a message but got an immediate call back from Mike, the owner. He provided me with a lower quote than the others I had called and was available the following day for the installation. For parts (2 springs) and labor, I was given a quote of $ 220.
I let hm know that the occupants of the residence were tenants and inquired as to what method of payment would be sufficient. I was able to pay with a credit card. Mike advised that he would call me after he had completed the work and obtain the credit card info at that time and would then forward the paid receipt via email.
When I spoke to him following the completion of the job, the bill was exactly as Mike advised it would be! No surprise price hikes! I can’t answer as to his workmanship, but we received no complaints from the tenant. However, if Mike was as pleasant in person as he was on the phone, then I highly recommend him for your garage door needs.

The coils to my garage door opener were busted a couple days ago. Called several places today looking at Unilocal reviews and took a chance in these guys. I am VERY glad I did. Not only did they come the same day, but the guy that came did an excellent job. He was nice, very professional, and the cost was VERY fair if not better than some other quotes. I will DEFINITELY call these guys again if I need to. Thank you VERY much!!!

Watching Michael Shehan assess and fix a garage door problem is absolutely riveting!
He wastes no time — he’s here on a mission to fix whatever the issue is with your garage door! He discusses the problem, gives a very fair price to do the job, then suits up with his amazing one man show equipment gizmo! When he’s ready he has everything he might need strapped somewhere on his body where he can get to it quickly and easily. He adjusts, lifts, changes settings and when he’s done it’s perfect. Watching him work is like watching an artist paint a picture — and everyone is thrilled with the outcome! There isn’t anyone else we’ll ever call to fix a garage door again because he’ll do it right, and with a smile on his face! He’s amazing at what he does!

Yup, my husband and myself accidentally messed up our doors. First the sensor wire was knocked off by my husband somehow, then I tried to do the lock thingy-​only not locking completely. Then husband comes home from work and opens the garage breaking a spring, messing up the rail and the garage looks like it is all crooked. We could not close the garage at all. Plus it’s the afternoon on a SATURDAY!!! I called up ODS and Mike was able to come out to help us! He came all the way down to Escondido for us. My husband and myself are extremely grateful for him for being prompt and kind. I wouldn’t go with another company. This is the second time we have used him in 2 yrs for a 20 yr old garage system.

This is what a good local business looks like. Honest, gets the job done right, on time and good communication. I originally reached out to Mike at ODS based on his reviews and because he literally lives right down the street from me…
I called him and told him that I have a broken torsion spring on my 2 car garage, to which he said he’d fix for $ 200. GREAT! I said I’d call him back in 2 days when I got back home and get setup for him to come out. I sh*t you not, I then made a 5 star review draft I was ready to post after he finished the work because based on all of his previous reviews, I thought his work was gonna be a slam dunk!
Fast forward to almost a week later… I’ve called him twice since we originally spoke last Tuesday, and I even had my wife call him yesterday and leave a message to see if he could still come out… no answer! I understand it’s a holiday weekend, but what’s been the most ironic part about all this is that every time we have driven by his house… his truck, clearly marked ODS, has just been parked in his driveway! No call back to say if he could postpone or anything due to the holiday…
Fortunately, I reached out to Garage Door Medics today, and with their current Unilocal deal, they’re about 50% less than what Mike at ODS was going to charge me!

Got a few quotes for a broken spring this morning, no one could see me for at least a week and about $ 80 more then ODS quoted. Mike did an excellent job that very PM, efficiently, friendly. CUSTOMER SERVICE? WHAT? Yes, it still does exist… called Mike on a Saturday morning and by Saturday afternoon our garage door springs had been replaced and the (what we thought was broken) pulley put back on… professional, prompt and FAIRLY PRICED, what more could you ask for! We called Mike and we scheduled an apt with him that Saturday morning. He told us it would be between 10−12pm. Well he called at about 9:45 and said he would be here shortly! We were so happy he was prompt!
He took one look (or listen) to our garage door and knew instantly what needed to be done. Took care of it all within an hour and didn’t charge is a fortune! Couldn’t ask for a nicer more professional guy. Would recommend him to anyone!

Mike just finished my door and I could not be more satisfied with the service. I found him by referral and texted him I needed a spring. He gave me a quote and I set up an appointment for my next available day. I also requested a tune up because my door was never correct even before the spring gave out.
The day of he texted me when he was on his way an was promptly there. He told me everything in the tune up was covered besides the parts. He mentioned the bearings was the likely culprit and he had them in stock and they were only $ 40. Turns out the bearings were binding and he had the job all finished in the 30 minutes he said it would.
I’m a business owner myself and deal with a lot of companies and I can honestly say that true professionals are pretty rare nowadays. Mike was punctual and knew exactly what he was talking about just from what I described. I’m used to delays and back orders with most places, and this transaction couldn’t have been any smoother. Turns out my friends were right and I will recommend overhead door solutions to all of my friends and neighbors.
