So Cal Water

We have extremely hard water in Fallbrook and realized it was time to install a water filter system for the house.
We had three companies that gave us bids. So Cal water was by far the most reasonably priced and very knowledgable about the product they offer.
Our installation day arrived and Daniel was right on time, which I always like. He worked all day without a break to set up our system. Normally it doesn’t take much more than four hours. However, we had an issue with power to the units and Daniel stayed without any breaks to fix the problem. He was very nice and patient with the issue until it was solved. Great customer service on his part.
Customer service aside, we are very happy with the quality of our water now. What a huge difference in the taste and feel on the skin.
My only issue is I wish we would have made this decision a long time ago.

Was going to get a water softener and use a coupon that was sent to me from a well known company. Decided to research Unilocal and found what I thought were unbelievable reviews for So Cal Water. I mean nobody can have that many extremely satisfied reviews right?! But, called So Cal Water for an estimate because I couldn’t ignore how many people were so happy with So Cal Water. Just like the reviews indicate, people who initially answered phone and set up appointment were extremely professional. Scott came out to do the estimate and was great. Knows his audience and realized that we didn’t need a «sales process». He talked to us like we had known him for a while. Price was shockingly good. In fact, it was so good that we ended up doing a reverse osmosis drinking system as well. The entire appt took about 20 minutes for us to make the decision to go with So Cal Water and book an install appt. They even ended up calling us to get us in a day earlier for our installation than what we originally scheduled. Our technician Mark showed up on time, did our installation and when it was completed went over how the system works. He even went over warranty info with us again. Really nice guy too:) Cant say enough good things about this company. In a world where things are getting so fast paced and we tend to lower our expectations regarding customer service, its nice to have a company that does everything right. Definitely go with So Cal Water!

We overall had a positive experience with So Cal Water, though it was a longer experience than we expected. We liked that SCW did not have a proprietary soft water unit brand that you could only buy parts for through them, unlike a different company we had gotten a quote from, so it was easier to see costs and value. Our installer was Mark, who labored intensively from 10:20 AM until 8 PM at night. Yes, that is right. 9.5 hours. Our installation was very intensive because the water main came through the very front of the house, so Mark needed to dig a trench and bury the new copper piping he installed under flower beds, a decorative brick border, and cut holes through our wooden fence so he could route it to the side yard of our house behind the fence. In addition, because our backyard irrigation supply came through the house, he needed to cap off the pipe that supplied the backyard and reroute the system so only hard water came out for backyard watering, using PVC pipe. At one point, he had a co-​worker come by and help him lay the PVC piping. The PVC part was unfortunately problematic, as it sprung 2 leaks before Mark left which my husband pointed out, but which Mark fixed promptly before leaving at 8 PM. The next day, we noticed a 3^rd leak in the PVC, and Mark came out promptly to fix the leak. I have to say, Mark was really a hard worker and very exceptional in his customer care. He made sure to do his best in the parts that he was working on, and took a long time to ensure that everything was working properly. He even offered to re-​lay the entire PVC piping area if we wanted him to, but since it was finally working without leaks we did not take him up on it. He was very communicative, pleasant, and polite. Anytime he had questions or something to communicate he’d knock on the door and get everything answered; I have no complaints whatsoever with Mark. He is one of the nicest people we’ve dealt with regarding home renovations and was very patient with our barky dogs throughout the lengthy install. As for our water, immediately after the install, we noticed a metallic, smoky taste to the tap water, so I called them and Scott said that this was common after the work had just been done to the plumbing, so he gave us tips on just running the water everywhere to get rid of it, and that worked just fine. After a day or two, the nasty smell /​taste subsided, and our water quality has definitely improved. We have a TDS meter and our tap used to be at 456 ppm. It is now around 350 ppm just with the water softener. Our water hardness before the install was 17 grains per gallon which we tested with a titration kit we bought online. It is now at 0. Our dishwasher now cleans the dishes spotlessly — before they were always gross and stained with hardwater deposits and defeated the purpose of having a dishwasher. Our glass shower doors are now clean and unspotted and we know our major appliances will get a little extra life due to the soft water. Glad we did it.

I am very please with this company, their service and product. Scott has been very informative. The prices are reasonable and the product is great.

After receiving a quote with another well known water company, we decided to contact SoCal water online based on their Unilocal reviews. We had an in home appointment with Scott who was extremely nice and professional. No crazy sales pitch. He explained everything they had to offer. The price was right within our budget and priced well compared to our quote with the other company. We made the decision on the spot and had everything installed the next day. The system included a Fleck 7000sxt water softener, a Big Blue 20″ whole house water filter, and a Nimbus Sierra under sink RO system. The technician (Pablo) showed up promptly at the designated time. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know to operate the system. The quality of his installation was top notch and we are extremely happy with SoCal waters products and workmanship. The water quality in our home has changed drastically. We highly recommend SoCal water! Thanks SoCal Water!

I chose So-​cal water based on the reviews they have on Unilocal I had contacted the company via email to answer a few questions, Nancy called me back the following day she very polite an very helpful. I even spoke to another gentlemen Named Scott they were both awesome answering an concerns & questions about getting a water softener installed. after I speaking with both these awesome people I went ahead an scheduled an appointment with So Cal Water to have a water softener installed.
My appointment was scheduled for the 14^th of December, The installer (Pablo) called me an told me he would be arriving at a certain time an would call me when he was 20 minutes out from my house (Chula Vista) Pablo called when he was 20minutes out. He arrived an got to work immediatly he was very polite an very meticulous about the work he was doing, he stopped an answered anymore questions that I had. The installation took about 4.5 Hours but I was very happy with the outcome of his installation. Pablo explained how the system works an what upkeep comes along with the system So Cal Water an the employees are super awesome I highly recommend them if you are looking for a water softener system for you household.

I highly recommend So Cal Water! They installed a water softener and reverse osmosis system for us. The guys who did the installation were courteous, knowledgeable and hard working. They stayed late to finish the installation in one day. We couldn’t be happier with their service.

I did a lot of research before selecting So Cal Water. I have had various soft water systems for 27 years so I know quite a bit about them. I first tried Sears as they had a good price for the unit I wanted but wanted up to $ 1,000 to install. Now I know that plumbers make about as much money as lawyers but that was just nuts. Next stop Costco, price was about $ 3,000 installed. Good system and great grantee. One local plumber said too hard to install, even though seemed straight forward to me. Finally went with a recommendation from my son who has been dealing with So Cal Water for several years. Called and asked for Scott, he gave me a quote over the phone after I described the location that I needed the install. 24 hours later the unit was up and working. The install exceed my expectations, extremely clean in a tight location. I could not be more pleased.

Quality product and workmanship, quick and excellent support, on time for all appointments. SoCal Water installed a water softener (Fleck 7000) and RO (Nimbus Sierra) and the system works great. Water quality is fantastic and we now know what we have missed for over 10 years living in San Diego. The team is very professional and great to work with! Called in with a service request for the RO system and they were quick to respond and take care of the issue (which was due to debris in the drain, and not a product or installation fault). Highly recommended team and product.

So we just had the R.O. System installed and can’t thank Mark enough for his time and patience on this job. A previous plummer botched our pipe system in the kitchen using inappropriate size pipes. Mark came in and was nice and smart enough to fix their mistakes so the water filtration pressed was right. Nice, professional, totally recommend them!

I needed a water softener for the house and came across SoCal Water on Unilocal.After reading their reviews, I called to get more information. Nancy, who answered the phone, was very courteous and explained that Scott (the owner) will come out and do an assessment on the house to recommend the best system for the house. I said good and scheduled an appointment
On my scheduled date and time Scott showed up promptly, took a look in the garage (where my water main runs in the house), explained the process to me and gave me a price. Once he gave me a price I asked him right there if he had the equipment with him. One of, if not, the best prices I have came across. He chuckled a little and told me he could have someone out here today (11/​11/​2015).
Mark was my service rep that showed up to install the system in our house. He was on time (actually a little early and had to wait on me to get home). As I pulled up he already had the equipment out of his truck and prepped as much as he could. I opened the garage and he immediately went to work. Mark was very proficient and efficient and is a true professional. His install was clean, he cleaned up any messes as he went along, and ensured everything was running properly before leaving. He also took the time to explain the system to, what to look for, and how to care for it.
The bottom line is if you are the in market for water softener give SoCal water serious consideration. Their prices are extremely fair, their work is excellent, and everyone person I spoke to/​with in the organization was professional!

I have a really busy schedule and needed to meet with someone for an estimate late in the evening. I called to set up an appointment and they easily accommodated me and set up the appointment for 6:30pm. I met with Scott and he seemed very knowledgeable about the product. He made it very easy to understand the whole process.
The quote was provided at the time of the meeting. They have very competitive pricing. They weren’t the cheapest I found and not the most expensive. However, I chose to go with them based on their experience and professionalism.
I ordered the softener and big blue carbon filter. The great thing about their product was that it was compact. It fit into the smallest space i had left next to my water heater. The other company i was working with needed to install 2 tall tanks, there’s no way it would have fit.
Since my kitchen was being remodeled, I did not want the reverse osmosis tank installed till it was finished. They agreed to come back when i was ready at no additional charge.
I will be referring them to friends and family who are looking for a great product and excellent service.

Scott is awesome. He personally came out to help me move the soft water unit when I had my epoxy flooring done. All for free. Great service and the receptionist was wonderful as well. Very professional and great service. Highly recommended.

I spoke with Nancy to schedule an estimate. She was nice and very accommodating even though I called a few times with questions. Scott arrived on time. He installed our water softener and RO water system in the kitchen. His work is excellent and very neat! He explained how the systems work. We are extremely satisfied with the quality and service we received from Scott. This guy rocks! Highly recommended!

I called. A very nice, professional woman answered and scheduled Scott to come out and give me an estimate. Scott showed up right on time, was very professional and informative. The price was pretty straight forward, no up-​selling or options. I was satisfied with the price and scheduled an installation date. They gave me a date along with a 3 hour window. Scott showed up right in the middle of that window.
He knew exactly what he was doing and got right to work. Two hours later he was done. The installation looks very clean and professional. After showing me how the system worked and answering all of my questions, the job was done.
That was it. Two hours, no pain, no fuss, just a job well done.
I highly recommend them.

When I initially called to book an estimate the first time the phone etiquette was awful. The person that answered was pretty rude the entire time, but based on the Unilocal reviews I disregarded my instincts and booked anyways. While I understand you allegedly have never had a complaint about service, maybe I have higher standards. I spoke to 2 different women, each time they had awful tone, and sounded very inconsiderate and misbooked my appointments. Judging from your reply, I am quite happy I never gave you my business. After the FIRST time you NO SHOWED, I kindly reached out to you via Unilocal and didn’t give a negative review. I wanted to give you the opportunity to come out, so I rebooked. Clearly that was my mistake. I thought I was being fair in reaching out and giving you guys a second chance, but clearly I wasnt.
APPT 1: So I’m waiting around the house for my 9 am appointment, and by 930 I call and they scheduled it for the wrong day. I never would have agreed to the day she wrote down because I was unavailable. I postponed plans I had for the day, specifically for this appointment. I am 10 000% sure it was their error. But things happen so I agree to reschedule.
APPT 2: Same thing, I think it was a 10 o’clock appointment this time, I call at 1020 am because no one was there yet. The lady that answered said no one was coming out, when she tried to call and let me know the day before my phone rang «funny.» Hmmmm… that weird because I received calls and texts all day without any issue. She offered to reschedule me. She stated she NEVER left a voice mail, so telling me that you left one is a flat out lie.
At this point why would I trust any contractor with a several thousand dollar project if they can’t even show up to the estimate?! (Multiple times at that!) I have found so many great contractors based from Unilocal reviews and I am SUPER disappointed that I was completely led astray with this one. I seriously have no idea how this place has a 5 star rating based on my experience. The water in San Diego is TERRIBLE and I need a whole house filtration system stat, looks like I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Scott was great. He showed up on time during his visit to give me a quote and tell me about the system. He answered all my questions and although he was running a little behind on the day of install, his office called to let me know he would be there 30 minutes late. He did a great job and was very professional. I would highly recommend him for: professionalism, service, and best price.

Scott came out and provided information and assessed my home for the water softener. He was very friendly and knowledge about the system. There wasn’t any of the add-​on prices, it was a flat rate for my system and that was it. The installer was just as knowledgeable as Scott, the installation took about 4 hours.
I love my water softener no spots in the chrome sink, glasses come out of the dishwasher spot free and then the shower, let’s just say it sucks we’re in a drought :-)

Had a water softening/​filtration system installed and couldn’t be happier. We’ve had the system over a week now & I’m loving the obvious results: soft water, no white residue on my dishes after running through the dishwasher, not so many hard water spots everywhere, & water tastes so much better! I have peace of mind now too knowing much of the «junk» in tap water is being filtered out. I wish we had done this sooner. Before I did my research, I was actually ready to buy a new dishwasher thinking that was the problem. Customer service has been great also and I feel I paid a fair price for the system.
