My mother ordered a cake and cupcakes for my sisters baby shower and we were not disappointed! The cake was made specifically as it was asked to be. The strawberry cake not only looked beautiful but was delicious, very moist and, paired with a light whipped cream cheese filling. Our guests loved it! We will definitely use this bakery for future events.

They did our beautiful wedding cake– not only was it incredible looking, it tasted fantastic!!! They also make you another top of your wedding cake a year later for free!
It was exactly as requested and a reasonable price. I will continue to get my cakes here for special occasions– all the way from Long Beach, CA!

I have used Sweet Layers for the past 9 years… 3 times a year getting $ 200-​$ 300 cakes each time. Plus the bridal shower cakes and wedding cakes. So I knew to order ahead of time. I emailed pictures of what I wanted 3 weeks in advance along with the date and the cake selections. I had to keep calling to get an answer. The cake was copyrighted so they wouldn’t do it, so I emailed 2 more cakes. I again had to call and was put off each time while they looked for the email. Finally, someone returned my call, but I was not available to take the call. So, I called back. I was told at that point that they were booked up and couldn’t do the cake. That they could do a single round cake with very little decoration even though the cakes I wanted were 3 tiers. I did find another bakery to do my cake and if they do a good job, I’ll be switching bakeries after 9 years. It’s sad that they were disinterested, rude and unapologetic to a long time customer that has given them over $ 9000 worth of business over the years.

BEST BRIDAL SHOWER CAKE!!! Nicole was so patient and kind as we were working on the design of my future daughters bridal shower cake. I was out of town and doing everything by email and phone. The cake was prettier than I could have imagine. I was hoping that it was going to taste as good as it looked and IT DID!!! There was no cake left on any guest plates and even people who do not usually like cake said it was delicious! I ordered the Vanilla bean cake with Raspberry mousse filling and Vanilla buttercream frosting. PERFECT! And at a very reasonable price! THANK YOU soooo much Nicole, Kim and everyone who works at Sweet Layers, you have a customer for life!!!

My future Mother in law had Sweet Layers design and make our cake for my bridal shower this past weekend. First off, the presentation was gorgeous! It absolutely represented my fiancé and me and our rustic theme. I didn’t even want to cut it because it looked so pretty!
Now to the inside of the cake– We did a vanilla bean raspberry mousse. It tasted just as DELICIOUS as it looked. We had barely any cake left, AND when we picked up the cake plates, they were all completely clean and eaten up.
Even my friend who doesn’t like cake had two slices lol. Would highly recommend them! Thank you for making my Bridal Shower cake so beautiful and special to me!

Ordered a cake from here for my baby shower. It came out EXACTLY how I wanted it from the picture I had sent her. The cake was absolutely delicious… the top layer was marble cake with cookies and cream filling… the bottom layer was vanilla bean cake with a strawberry buttercream frosting and a strawberry purée with fresh strawberries. Everyone at my shower raves about how fantastic the cake was. Plan on coming back for baby’s first birthday cake!

Best cakes in town! Our family hires Sweet Layers for every birthday, baby shower, and party we have. Not only do the cakes come out beautiful every time, but they always taste amazing!!! Sometimes cakes can look good but taste horrible. Not here. Our guests crave Sweet Layers cakes!!!

We get all of our special event (birthday, anniversary, etc.) cakes from this shop. They are absolutely amazing. You pick everything from the size, taste, look, colors and fresh fillings. You will love their cakes!

This place is very rude and there pricing is very overpriced. I called another bakery in Murrieta and they quoted me $ 115 for the cake I wanted and they had great service. Sweet Layers wanted almost $ 200 for the same cake but smaller portion! Plus they where very rude. I would not recommend this place. I think it’s overrated.

I was in need of a dirty dancing themed cake for my «dirty 30» birthday party. Living out in Orange County I was unable to find any decent bakeries without complaints of dry, overpriced cake. My mom came in to save the day and found this bakery. We placed the order on July 2, to be picked up on July 6^th to be taken for a drive up to the party location in big bear lake. The cake was completed on time and even made it up the hill without falling apart. The design was exactly what I was looking for and was a huge hit at the party, a ton of compliments on the flavor (lemon with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting). 5 days later we are all still eating the cake and it is still moist! A lot of flavor, cute designs and great customer service! Thank you sweet layers for saving me from any mid life crisis «I’m Turning 30 and don’t have a cake» meltdowns!

I have used Sweet Layers a few time for events as I am an Event Planner. This last event they went above and beyond. The birthday cake looked amazing and tasted even better. They also make a much a little sweets for the party. They all looked great and tasted great. They flew off the table so quickly, I should have order double! Thank you to Kim and her staff for a very successful event.

Based on the Unilocal reviews for Sweet Layers, I ordered a gender reveal cake from them. I requested a quote via email and included photos of the overall look I was trying to achieve. I received confirmation of my email within 20 minutes. The quote and time frame needed to complete the cake were both very reasonable.
I ordered an ombré (either pink or blue depending on the gender), three layered almond cake with buttercream filling and roughed buttercream icing. The cake was DELICIOUS! We had friends and family over to enjoy the cake and share in the surprise, and everyone was raving about the cake. It was fluffy and moist! My only complaint would be that the light blue layers actually looked more green than blue, but it was still pretty and the taste more than made up for it.
I loved them so much, I am having my baby shower cake made here. I hope it is as delicious as the first cake I ordered.

I noticed that Sweet Layers has gotten a few negative reviews of late on service, but I must say, I am a very happy customer. These ladies have done the cakes for both my kids’ first birthday parties, and for my dad’s birthday, and we were thrilled with the cakes each and every time. You will not find a better cake for the price. For my daughter’s party several years ago, they did an incredible floral themed mango cake that was luscious. For around $ 60. This time, they did a Corduroy-​themed teddy bear cake for my son’s party to feed 48 – 50 and it was so beautiful, apropos, and most importantly, delicious. For only $ 70! I’m telling you, these guys have it all. Best cake you’ll taste, wonderful decorating, and affordable options for every budget. As far as customer service goes, I worked with a delightful and courteous person named Nicole, who was really professional and polite. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Sweet layers cakes takes your vision and makes it a reality! None of the other cake shops in the Temecula area were willing to take on this design. Kim was the only one who instantly knew she could do it and had the confidence I was looking for! Not only did she nail it, but she completely exceeded my expectations. I had just a couple of pictures and a single swatch for color. I was afraid originally that the birds would come out looking too cartoony, but they came out literally exactly like the photo I had provided. They are so talented!
My husband and I think back on our wedding reception and we are always blown away by how perfect our cake was. It was exactly like the photo I had shown her. The birds were suspended in the air draping the ribbon about my cake in a whimsical way that truly represented our Disney side without being over the top and in your face.
My guests raved about the flavor of the cake! We did coconut cake with mango filling buttercream frosting on one layer almond cake and raspberry filling on another and banana with some sort of filling on another! Needless to say it was amazing. And I can’t wait to get my anniversary cake one year after our reception date. April can’t come soon enough!
Another thing I truly appreciated was her willingness to work with our budget. She was very honest about letting us know that our design was complex due to the hovering birds etc. But she definitely helped us make it happen within our budget. I think as long as you are clear on your vision and really talk through the details Kim will be able to make it happen. I recommend sweet layers to everyone who is getting married near the Temecula area!

I wish there was a negative star… absolute worst customer service EVER! Kim told my fiancée she would work with her to make our wedding cake. Last minute she changed her mind, (after encouraging us to drive 2hours to speak with her) she decided she could not help us. While we were there we caved and bought a cupcake… gross! Very dry and tasted box made.

I ordered my grandmother’s 80^th birthday cake from here and it was a hit! Everyone loved how moist, sweet (but not too grossly sweet) and cute the cake was. I had a particular design and they were able to work with my design and it turned out better than expected. I ordered the round cake that served 20 people or so and it was great! It was $ 70 but it was worth it since this is a big milestone for my grandma. We got the marble cake with cookies and cream filling. The lady that helped me with the quote recommended the filling and thank goodness I listened since it was amazing! I ordered about a month in advance. so plan accordingly if you have a particular design. Will order from again very soon! Thanks sweet layers!

I needed a hawaiian themed birthday cake for my wife’s 30^th. I had not known it required a two week lead time to order a cake like this and after calling around I figured I was screwed. Then by chance I called Sweet Layers. They not only were able to make the cake, but it was amazing.
I ordered on Tuesday and picked it up Saturday. Pricing was perfect and the cake was beautiful. It was a pineapple cake with mango mousse. Perfect size for the 25 – 30 people we had at the party. Highly recommend this company. I may of only used them once, but I will definitely recommend them to friends and family. The really are artists. The key is to not be a cheap ass and just give them a basic idea of what you want and let them be creative for you. All these intense house wife’s and their lavish ideas are overwhelming.
Honestly I don’t understand of you have that much time to plan the details of a cake then why not just make it yourself. So of the reviews for this place are ridiculous. 8 cakes and you are complaining. Just saying. If you have a bad experience, but keep coming back you must not of been that disappointed. Try this place out. It will surprise you. In a good way.
Oh it was very moist and not overly sweet. Wife said to add that.

I had to order a baby shower cake for a family member and when I originally called and told the lady what I wanted, I was quoted $ 60. Well when I went to proceed with the cake, the price went up and they couldn’t do the design I asked for because it was last minute and would cost me over $ 100. I sent them pictures and while I didn’t expect my picture to look exactly like what I sent because my budget was different, I had expected that they would put more thought and detail to what I had asked. I have ordered cake from other places before and I have never received a cake that look so creatively mediocre. I paid $ 85 for this and the writing looked SLOPPY. I will not be getting a cake from here EVER again. I am so embarrassed that the cake was presented at the baby shower.

Was pleasantly surprised when Kim did everything in her power to make things right. I appreciated the customer service and will give this place another chance because of her efforts.

My husband came across this bakery as we were searching for a birthday cake for our daughter’s first birthday. After reading the many positive reviews about taste of the cake, I decided we’d give them a try. We needed a cake for the following weekend and I was a little concerned we wouldn’t have many options since I was calling the week before the party and usually custom cakes require a two week in advance order. I was worried for nothing! I was able to walk in the same day I inquired over the phone and order the cake!
The young woman who helped me order the cake was very patient, nice, and attentive as I asked her a bunch of questions about cake sizes, cake design, pricing, and popular flavors. I had no trouble at all with the customer service. Plus!
We went with a 12″ round butter crème decorated cake, red velvet cake and whipped cream cheese filling. The decoration was to be very simple, (something we had seen on their web gallery, because previous reviews had mentioned the cake decorations would fall short of their expectations) but I requested to have the color scheme match the Disney movie, Frozen.
The cake came out just as planned! The decorations were simple so they couldn’t really go wrong. What I liked most was, they threw in a COMPLIMENTARY SMASH CAKE!!! The cake was a hit at the party, it was huge, everyone loved the taste and mentioned comments like «it’s so good!» «best red velvet I’ve ever had» and «it’s so moist!»
I will continue to do business with Sweet Layers and maybe next time see what they’re really capable of doing with their cake decorations.
