The Golf Club at Rancho California

I really do like the course. I think it is one of the better ones around. But if your trying to go out at 3 – 5 for super twilight make sure you prepared to get rushed off. Last time we went out it was 430 – 5. Paid the money to play and they had us start on the back because they had all ready pulled the front nine. We said that was fine we will just play nine. Than they told us to have the cart back at 7 and its not dark to 8:30. Anyway we agreed understood we were going out late. But when the guy came behind us on 14 with the flags form the first 4 holes I told him I would pull the rest and bring them in if he would like. He assured me that he was not going to pull the rest until we were done. Once we got to 17 we were in the middle of the fair way and some other guy pulled the pin this was like 6:45. So he pulled 18 as well. If your going to do super twilight stay open tell dark if not than don’t bother letting people out.

Great course, greens are in great shape and the fairways are coming back from last summer. Awesome staff including the marshall Kyle!

Wonder day of golf at this spot. Well manicured greens, fair pricing, and very helpful staff. Grill room has great burgers. Had a blast guys, thanks again.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the people were nothing but rude. I am not the best golfer, however, I paid my fees and set out to have fun and play golf. The Marshall rushed us to tee off even though our tee time was not for another 15 minutes. Then he caught us after the first hole, while waiting for the group in front of us, told us someone complained because it took me more than 7 hacks to get to the green. Then they checked us every other hole only to make comments about our game and to ask me to pick up my ball if I was behind. It was all I had not to tell him to F off. If you want to be babysat while you golf, this course is for you. The maintenance crew should be fired too. Ugly.

Great course layout. Greens are always in great shape and fast! Fairways could use some TLC but overall always a great experience here. They have the best practice facilities in the area and the staff is always friendly.

Great course but the cart attendant was one of the rudest most unwelcoming people I have ever encountered. It was my first time to the course and he seemed annoyed when I asked where the range was then yelled at my group for loading on the wrong cart. He made us take everything off the cart and switch just because he didn’t want to walk 10 feet to give us the key. Awful experience because of one person.

Worst service! Got talked to by 5 different people pressuring us to move ahead to make way for a tournament! Don’t go here! Worst service ever! Owner is an ass!

I knew I liked playing at this club from the couple of times I played it before, but after playing it recently, it probably deserves a higher spot on my top 10.
Excellent practice range, good customer service and consistent, above average conditions are solid reasons why I enjoy this course so much, but the layout and the challenge is what I like the most. At 127 slope from the whites, Rancho is right in my wheel house for my game right now, It’s open enough to let driver out without much fear of losing your ball, but well placed obstacles make it a must to hit it straight.
If you are a developer, you might want to look into buying property, like the mobile home park, might be a decent investment to build upscale homes there.
The mobile home park is clean, just seems a bit out of place for this great course.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Greens are well kept, and a nice driving range and putting green. Priced a little on the high side for a round of golf but worth it.

Very nice range. Would have five stars but it was confusing to find where to get tokens for the range balls. There was a building and teaching facility there but you have to go across the street. I have now played here a few times and absolutely love it. Best greens I have seen in a long time.

Went to The Golf Club of Rancho California for Father’s Day to have a brunch. We were very pleased to have our food hot and ready within 10 to 15 minutes of ordering. The food was outstanding and the service of Sarah and Chris (head chef and waitress) was amazing. They were so friendly and new how to make you feel welcome. I ordered the pancakes from the menu and I had never tasted pancakes so light and fluffy until then. The burgers we had ordered I heard were delicious and everything they had put on the burgers really tied them together. Overall the brunch was perfect. They didn’t mess up our orders, we had a wonderful view from the outside of the Grill Room and outstanding service. Definitely would recommend going there for a bite to eat. Lots of thanks to Chris and Sarah for making the expierence very pleasent. Can’t wait to go back!

This course seems to alway be a mix bag of good and bad. I would not recommend anyone play this couse on Sundays. The grounds keeps are all off and they dont cut fresh holes, mow or blow the greens at all. Yet they still want a premium price to play 55 – 80. After 9 I want in to the pro shop to get an email address of the head pro. A guy name Darrin sitting in the office said I am. I then state that I think it’s a rip off to be charged $ 59 for a couse thats in $ 25 condition with the cups not being cut. He tells me he will have to check on that with the sup. On 18 I even more unhapp with how bad things are so I say something to the marshal. He informed me that they never cut new cups or anything on Sundays. Needlees to say I was fuming to find out the head pro lied outright to me. We agreed I should not come back.

I am an avid golfer here in the temecula valley, the ONLY reason this course gets 4 instead of five stars is that the rounds are very long. No marshal at all to keep groups moving. with that said, course is great, greens roll very well and I really like the course. PRO shop is friendly and I like it when you get to #8 and they have a menu for you to order before finishing the 9^th. keeps play moving.

Wow, I’m really impressed with this course! It’s a parkland course with a modern layout where errant shots rarely end up in someone else’s fairway. I wouldn’t recommend walking 18 holes here — the heat and hills will hurt you. Taking a cart would be the sensible thing to do, though walking 9 keeps you in the spirit of the game without having to pay such a huge toll.
The superintendent and his crew have done a marvelous job since I moved to the area in September (almost 6 months ago). From tee to green, it’s nothing but fantastic — the tee boxes are well manicured and cleared of debris every morning, the fairways drain properly (except for the area on 17 between the creek and cart path) and provide a nice cushion for your approach, the bunkers not only have sand in them, but the sand is properly distributed and packed along the walls and floors (not too hard, not too fluffy), and the greens… the greens are pristine rolling fast and true (they just started rolling the greens about two weeks ago).
What a fine course! Great practice area too, with both real grass and artificial turf to tee off from, and big bunkers to work on your sand game. Oh, I almost forgot to mention how friendly the staff is, as well.
The only drawback to the course is that it occasionally gets a heavy amount of traffic which can easily lead to a 5+ hour round. But that’s not too bad now since you’ll probably see the cart girl 3 to 4 times during your round.

This used to be an excellent track. Now, it’s in lousy condition. Definitely not worth $ 65 for a round!

Got a good deal on one of the discount course sites. Course was in great shape and the greens were the fastest I’ve played in SoCal. Traditional Robert Trent Jones design, challenging enough but not totally tricked out. Par 73 was kind of unusual, but I enjoyed the layout and see that they are trying to make improvements to the course to make it Tournament quality. Fortunately the weather was cool, but the cart girl didn’t seem to like to drive around the course. Saw her at hole 1 and 18??? Definitely not working on commission. Stayed out of triple digits and hit some nice shots, so no real complaints. Was a little slow, but what do you expect on a SAT.

Went here for the golf range.
80 balls for $ 9. Kinda pricey.

Formerly known as the SCGA Golf Course this was bought out and is now called the Rancho California Golf Club. The course is located East of the 15 frwy and they had overbooked the tee times and were running ½ hour late.
The course itself looks like it was solid at one time but could definitely use some TLC. Many fairways were yellow and seemed over watered and muddy in many areas. The best part of the course are the fast greens which are super quick. The speed of play was exceptionally slow and the round took close to 5 hours which is a frustrating.
I booked my tee times on a discount website which was a plus BC the regular rack rate is expensive for the condition of this golf course. Hopefully the new owners make some improvements and up the maintenance.

You know, i wasnt blown away by this course and i probably wont go out of my way to play here again either.
Lots of ground under repair. Greens still havent completely healed from aerating.
There were golfers in wifebeater tank tops and tee shirts. How tacky! They must be hurting for business if they allow that!
Driving range balls werent offered to us even though we checked in so early.
Maintenance worker happened to be watering each hole right as we pulled up to it, so we were hitting throuh the sprinklers and wondering if he was going to turn the water off so we could hit. Kind of distracting.
No beverage cart on a saturday???
