Dropped my car off for a tune-​up and to find out why my car was not starting/​running properly. Clarks discovered a problem near the catalytic converter/​pipe and changed plugs, fuel filter, plug wires. After picking up my car the first time — it was still unable to start properly — so I took it back. I have made two trips to this repair shop (spending about $ 500), yet the distributor problem is still not fixed. After picking up my car the second time, the «check engine» light was on — all they did was clear it out and my car was still not in repaired. The problem: a rusted out distributor. Pretty simple to discover since the distributor is right on top. Now I am spending an additional $ 400 (that I really don’t have) with yet another mechanic to completely repair the distributor that was rusted out and misfiring. If the mechanic at Clarks had been more thorough and actually looked at the entire problem — they could’ve figured it out easily. It’s not like they had to replace the engine, then to top it off I was accused of «self diagnosing» the problem? Repair shops are supposed to tell you the problem — not the other way around. That’s why they exist. At Clarks, the customer service is great, but the mechanic is not thorough if you have to repeat trips back to the shop for the same problem. Can’t help but feel ripped off.
