Established in 1997, Stepping Stones Learning Center provides childcare to children from infancy to 10-​years-​old in a warm and welcoming environment. We offer an educational curriculum that is designed for each specific age group, and taught by caring teacher’s.

Owner, Shawna Martin, started the company out of her home when she herself had 2 young children. Being unable to find a quality childcare center, she was inspired to open her own. As the years went on and the amount of children needing to be watched grew, Shawna hired assistants to help her. Eventually she had so many children to watch she contacted the Department of Human Services, and after a lot of paperwork and building a facility, she officially opened the childcare center to the entire community. My high school dream was to work as a preschool teacher. As soon as I graduated from high I jumped right into college to start taking my early childhood development classes at Muscatine Community College. Owner, Shawna Martin, started the company out of her home when she herself had 2 young children. Being unable to find a quality childcare center, she was inspired to open her own. As the years went on and the amount of children needing to be watched grew, Shawna hired assistants to help her after having my two kids I was having lot’s of trouble finding a suited able daycare for my children. That’s what gave me the idea to start my own daycare right out of my home.
