Bluegreen Vacations Harbour Lights, Ascend Resort Collection

My husband and I stayed for 5 days. The rooms are nice and clean, but somewhat dated especially the bathrooms. The pool area was pleasant until I noticed around the the lazy river there was some trash. Some of the people staying there were a bit on the low life end letting their child run around like savages, so I imagine it was they who littered around the pool area.
Also all around the outskirts of the «resort» was very depressed dilapidated buildings, looked a bit like a war zone. The people who worked there were extremely pleasant, however I would not go there if you want to get a way from unsupervised kids.

Harbor Lights — BlueGreen Vacation was fabulous. This destination has plenty of amenities to make your vacation relaxing. It also is a fantastic launching point to enjoy Myrtle Beach. Our faves were the lazy river, hot tubs, grills & the State park pass. Yes they provide a state park pass which enables you to enjoy two Oceanside state parks which are immaculate. Also we arrived just after hurricane which had flooded much of lowland SC. This location was running like nothing came through. No inconveniences. I would definitely visit again.

I have no idea why anyone would want to stay here. It’s too far from the ocean and from any type of nightlife, activities, or restaurants. There are nicer, cleaner hotels with an oceanfront view, and they actually also include maid service. They also have more amenities to offer.
Some people must have very low expectations, because if I see a roach in the room, it’s going to get a one-​star rating. There is no point in having any type of bug around the grounds at all, when you can pay to spray for them consistently. With the ridiculous prices people pay for timeshares, I don’t see why maid service, room service, and major pest control isn’t included.
One-​star accommodations for overall, a five-​star price. Crazy.

Roaches! It is not very relaxing to worry about roaches all night. Our family rented two villas and stayed a week. The rooms were nice, but besides the size, they weren’t crazy great. There is no house keeping so we spent a lot of time washing towels. The outdoor balcony seemed like a nice idea, but in reality it was a front seat view to bugs. Many debris and bugs displayed their homes inside the screened in area. As the sun went down, you would see cockroaches scatter when you would come out to relax. Amazingly we only saw one roach inside the villa the whole week. The pools weren’t bad. The lazy river was great but small. Very convenient location. Would consider returning but probably will bring some type of roach repellant next time.
The wifi. I thought it would be free. No. There are limitations. If you want any reasonable access, you have to pay.

Everything was going great until our last night. There were two big a$$ roaches in the dwelling. And i mean big. I have no idea where they came from. I will
Alert the front desk staff tomorrow at check so that they can get an exterminator in here asap. I can not get comfortable because i want to check threw my luggage AGAIN. I am writing this review 15 mins after killing that second roach.

Stayed here for a weekend trip with my sister. Loved it! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The kitchen is well stocked. They have a great picnic/​bbq area. The pools are awesome and lazy river is relaxing. I liked the 3 different pools available. Its also really nice to have rentals things like bikes and fishing for really great prices! The beds are very comfortable. The pool has a great bar and the bartender was awesome! The only downside was during our stay there was a large group of what i would call «trailer trash» at the pool. The kids were out of control, one of them pooped in the pool and it had to be closed. They were running and jumping in and out of lazy river making it hard to relax. When i advised staff they did nothing about them. I understand they didnt want to kick them out but at the same time they shouldve taken into consideration the other dozen people who were complaining about them.

Great place. Has a lot of extras too. Pool was good and can get free daily state park passes for beach access. It’s included in your stay. Clean and nice open feeling.

Very nice rooms! Spacious and very clean. Restaurant and bar on site. Smart TV everything is up to date.

I stay at this location at Myrtle Beach. It’s close to everything I like. I used to stay in the bigger room but being by myself I found the smaller room just fine. I can’t comment on the restaurant since I haven’t eaten there, but the other stuff they have to offer is nice. The staff has been very friendly and if there is a problem someone was on it very quickly. I have to say outstanding job.

First, we are having a wonderful time on our Vacay! The room we are staying in is big and spacious! And Wi-​Fi is included in the room. Marble countertops, full kitchen, cutlery and serving ware is provided as well! And there is a view of the lake! If you are looking for beachfront property this isn’t the place but, the beach is only about 15 – 20 minutes away! There is free parking and bike rentals and the sales staff and security guard are really nice! Lori Colley walked us through our meeting and took our complaints very seriously. If it was based on her and her alone I would stick with Bluegreen and visit Harbor Lights again. Unfortunately, first impressions are lasting impressions and the check-​in staff, once again, treated us very poorly. I won’t go into detail because a complaint was already made.
The great things:
1. Screened in patio
2. Great view of the lake
3. Comfortable furniture
4. Awesome! Awesome! awesome pillows and bed.
5. The living room tv is a Samsung Smart TV
6. The space was clean
7. The appliances worked
8. The bathroom was huge! With a double sink, shower and jacuzzi-​brand, oval tub.
10. The studio bedroom has it’s own door so we had a great sense of privacy.
The reason I gave Harbor Lights 3-​stars instead of 5-​stars is because:
1. There is no room service
2. You have to drive everywhere.
3. The restaurant on site closes before dinner.
4. The check-​in staff is rude.
5. The television isn’t updated in the bedroom.
6. The coffee maker was filthy
7. The pots and pans provided for stovetop needed to be replaced.
8. I had to clean the tub myself. It had some kind of sediment in it.
9. The Jacuzzi-​brand tub did not have jets.

Visited resort with my family. We checked in to 2 suites. Each suite has one bedroom with a king sized bed. Full bath with separate shower and tub. Kitchen, dining area and sitting room with pull out sofa bed. Sofa bed was leaning on one corner, used a cushion to prop it up. Full sized washer and dryer in vestibule area just outside suite.
I was pleasantly surprised. Provided in the room were plates, all utensils, everything you need in a kitchen. Dishwasher powder, soap, and laundry detergent was also supplied. Full sized fridge, stove and above range microwave.
There is also free wifi, a couple of Grocery stores nearby where you can stock up on food. Win, win!
Our room was located on the 2^nd floor across from the clubhouse. Very quiet and convenient for the kids to get to the pool. I liked it so much I am looking into purchasing a timeshare!
Best of all my three boys and my nephews loved it here! I will definitely be coming back.

Me and 2 girlfriends stayed at Harbour Lights on a recent girls weekend. I used Bonus Points from my Bluegreen timeshare membership so the price was FANTASTIC for a 2 bedroom condo. Check in was quick and painless, the condo was spotless and well stocked, and check-​out was also a breeze.
Location is where I drop a star. It’s in the middle on nowhere. It looks like the area was built up at one time. There was even an old skeleton of what appeared to be an amusement park. The beauty of the area is that everything is fairly close, but there was absolutely nothing within walking distance of this resort. It wasn’t a problem for us since we had a car, but if anyone is traveling to Myrtle Beach by plane and staying at this resort, there is no way to do or see anything without renting a car.
Also…for those looking for a beach vacation, this also isn’t the place. There are a few Bluegreen resorts at the beach, but this isn’t one of them. Again… a car is a must.

Please do remember that this is a timeshare, not a hotel. as such, you will not get the usual room service, nor housekeeping usual services. You will get an apartment, with 2 rooms, full kitchen, wifi, plenty of space.
I am only giving it 3 stars since the only restaurant/​fast food joint in the premises was closed. As such, we had to get in the car and drive for any food. There is complimentary coffee in the clubhouse, but that’s about it.
There is definitely not much to do there, but for the price and space provided, it’s very good.

We stayed at Harborlights resort for a family week. This resort was extremely clean, and our unit in building 13 had been remodeled with granite countertops flatscreen TVs and so forth. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The front desk personnel were extremely pleasant and helpful, providing us with free passes to the two state parks are located nearby. In short, we would return here anytime.

Wonderful stay, all the comforts of home with VIP amenities. The kids lived in the pool and enjoyed a variety of activities offered at the club house. Staff really seem to enjoy greeting visitors… everyone was super sweet southern style. Sweet tea, anyone?

Great Place to relax not to close to the strip but close enuff to shop…

Got to stay with a pal with a timeshare, so totally reasonable price for me (essentially free), enjoyed the nice hotel type (small) room adjacent to the master, it came equipped with a mini-​fridge, and microwave, as well as popcorn, Bath & Bodyworks toiletries, and tons of towels. Even had laundry and an ironing setup.
Wifi for AT&T was a pain to get initialized but when done, streamed Hulu well.
One concern was the key cards, constantly getting wiped from a cellphone near it. Changed sets like 3x

A BlueGreen Resort property located in the area near the Medieval Times and the closed down ‘Freestyle Music Park’
The property is a typical BlueGreen property the location has 3 different pools and a lazy river. They also have an on-​site grille and bar at the main pool and the prices are pretty reasonable.
We probably will stay here again. The property is off the beaten path but gives us what we need.

Excellent place for the family. 3 nice pools, a small but decent lazy river with tubes provided, 3 hot tubs. Plenty of activities to get involved in at the resort club house, some cost money some don’t. Excellent landscaping with 2 ponds that have lite fountains.
Our room was for 6 – 8 people, we slept 9 comfortable. 1 king, 2 queens, 1queen sofa pull out, and we turned the two ottomans into another bed for a child. A two bed room floor plan with a tv/​DVD player in each for a total of 3 sets. Everything you need to fix a meal, pots pans, utensils, cutlery, plates, cups, measuring cups, Tupperware, etc. FULL-​SIZE stove fridge dishwasher, even a garbage disposal. Paper towels, dish soap, etc. provided, just bring food.
Located nicely to accommodate a day at the beach, state park (which they have free passes for, just ask), or a day at the outlet mall.
