Planet Fitness – Myrtle Beach

We go to PF everywhere we go. This one is really nice, big, and very clean. They have a big membership and it gets crowded here. You may have to wait a bit to access some equipment, especially the weight racks, they could use more of these. I do not like the small tv’s over the cardio gear, and it seems like the majority of them are broken. The staff is very pleasant here. We enjoy working out here for the most part. A few improvements could move up the ratings for this gym.

I love traveling!!! And with my black planet fitness card I can go any PF club in USA! This is so amazing and comfy because I like to be in a great shape!;) This PF club in Myrtle Beach is so nice and clean. I would recommend to everyone!

I’ve been a member here for a few years now and this place is great if you like a low key workout without intimidation. It’s always clean and the staff are very friendly. Can’t beat the price for what is available ²⁴⁄₇!

The best planet I have ever been to. Plenty of space and every machine needed. Locker rooms are a good size. Each treadmill has a television attached. Very impressed and happy I stopped by on Easter weekend! Great Job planet fitness

There is not a cleaner gym/​fitness center around. The energy generated inside by all the people (working out & running) is shocking. One can FEEL the buzz in the air!

It’s time to update some of the equipment. Get some new stuff in. Maybe time to take out a wall and extend into a few Parking spaces in the side of he building and expand! Way over do in this!

We moved to myrtle beach a few weeks ago — I had a membership in my hometown for a few years before we made the move. Transferring my membership was very easily done! The gym is huge, which is great because there is such a variety of equipment! Best part of all, it’s only $ 10 a month! Overall, friendly staff, cheap gym, and I can get a great workout in!

This location has been fantastic. I’ve have nothing but good experiences there and it is never super crowded. They have tons of machines for everything and it’s always super clean.
My only complaint is only two stair masters. Two. 30 treadmills, 2 stair masters.
Otherwise great location!

Just would like to say I’ve been with this gym since it opened and enjoyed it. The staff some of them are friendly and some not so. The price is reasonable and when I signed up in the beginning there was no commitment. I just had to cancel my membership due to a move to the other end of the beach and the 40 mile round trip was to much. I just found out as I was canceling that I owed a 58.00 fee because I was a new member. I explained that I left for 8mths when I moved to Charleston SC but stayed with Planet fitness same owner in Charleston. When I moved back to Myrtle I resumed my membership. In your eyes I started over in January with my membership so you could hit me with these fees. Also I just paid the 39.00 renewal fee and was told I would get charged for next month too. I would have hoped PF would have taken in consideration that I’ve been with you guys since you opened in Myrtle Beach but I guess you’ve gotten to big to care. Very disappointed and have always loved PF but you have left me very disappointed how this was handled. If they every built one in NMB I said I would join again, but not now and I won’t recommend this facility to anyone again and write as many reviews as I can on how this was handled.

One of the nicer Planet Fatness’ I have been to. Very nice décor, excellent bathroom facilities.
Sufficient equipment that I never have to wait, at least when I am there early to mid morning.
I find the staff to be accommodating, perhaps not BFF type friendly, but professional.

Great gym! Clean and has all of the perks a customer could ask for. If you hate a crowded gym you must attend during non peak hours… late at night or early in the morning.

This PF offers some things my hometown PF does not. Such as soap dispensers in showers & level 5 tanning. Really nice & clean facility. Very busy :)

For being a busy gym and it is really busy, i think the place is well run and kept clean. I have no complaints just hope the Planet in Murrells will open soon for a closer location. Thanks for being here.

The staff is extremely rude and they have several billing issues listed with the Better Business Bureau. Be careful giving out your bank info. They don’t try to resolve anything.

The workout facility is awesome, staff isn’t. They act like They are doing you a favor by speaking. Every other gym I’ve ever been a member with has greeted me warmly with a «hello» and «thank you» after checking in. Hasn’t happened one time here. Kind of hard to make yourself go to a gym where they dread helping you. I want to ask for assistance but most of the time just decide not to use something bc I’d rather not deal with the rude staff…

Worked out three times here while on vacation and was treated very well and given a guest pass for $ 5. The weather wasn’t that great so it was nice to go to my gym 700 miles away and get a good run or workout in.

It’s a great place for Cardio and weight Maintenance I have no complaints other than I can’t bring a water jug on the floor. other than that it’s a great gym.

hmmm… The gym itself is pretty pretty, but thats not why I go to the gym. Everytime I want to use free weights I have to use 1 of only 3 smith machines… which are usually hogged up by other people. So if you then decide to go with dumbells they only go up to 75 lbs. so you will be limited. Also there are no barbells, kinda sucks. No deadlifts, upright rows, hang cleans, power cleans, or goodmornings. Wait, if you enjoy tanning and little massage chairs, then this will be a perfect place.

This place is brand new and the facility itself is amazing. The cardio theater has any machine that you would want to use and the weight machines are so numerous that i can’t even count them. There are also micro workout areas that focus on abs, legs and back and even a 30 minute express workout. They also have several amenities such as tanning, red light therapy and hydro-​massage beds. There is typically a long wait for these but if you plan it after your workout, you usually have no problem. The locker room is also in excellent condition.
Now let’s get to the staff. They need to train, replace and upgrade their staff. Frequently, there is no staff member at the desk when you go to make a tanning or hydro-​massage appointment. Also, the people who are there (when you can locate them) act as if it is a great imposition for them to assist you. I don’t know if they are understaffed or poorly managed but I expect them to operate the desk like the concierge at a hotel. They should be pleasant, knowledgeable and available. I don’t find any of these qualities in the desk staff.
Also, I will say that a few things are starting to be broken or missing in the locker rooms and the tanning area. A few of the tanning beds are missing the cleaned signs and at least two are missing the headrests. This may seem like a small issue but it has been going on for weeks. The guarantee when I bought my Black Card Membership was that all facilities and amenities would be maintained in the same condition. I expect that promise to be kept.
The one good thing about this gym is that you are not locked into a contract and you can exit at anytime you want. Based on their lacking skills in the area of customer service, I may exercise that option soon.
