Worth the money! Great atmosphere, great food, and excellent service. Our waiter, Ridge, was very attentive and professional. Highly recommend

First, I must have a major LOL for those reviewers that were surprised and angry that they were expected to cook their own food at a fondue restaurant and that it took so long. Do your research people!
Our experience at The Melting Pot was fantastic. Our server was Drew, who explained everything in detail and made the evening fun and interesting. Great personality… perfect for the job.
We had three adults and two teen girls in our party, and decided to order the all-​inclusive meal for four, which was just right the right amount of food and included a cheese course, entrees and dessert.
For the cheese course we went with a classic cheddar and a fantastic Quattro Formaggio, which is masterful mix of light cheeses and garlic, along with tomato and basil pestos. The light and dark dipping breads were flavorful and plentiful. Be careful not to fill up too much on bread!
Our main course (which you can easily customize for your tastes) included sirloin, a filet, a pepper-​crusted sirloin, chicken, bbq pork, an over-​the-​top mushroom ravioli (double up on ordering this item!) spinach/​artichoke ravioli and shrimp. We kept things simple and cooked it all in vegetable broth. All came out tender and delicious.
Our dessert course included a milk chocolate and a s’mores-style chocolate for dipping. The dessert treats included pound cake, brownies, blondies, bananas, pineapple, Rice Krispie treats, graham crackers and marshmallows. Sound good? It is!
If you haven’t tried a fondue-​style of eating, it is a lot of fun cooking your own meal… a very social way of dining. My kids are older, so they enjoyed it. Since it takes a couple of hours or more to get through the meal, I could imagine pre-​teens might get bored… at least until dessert shows up. And you may need to worry about really little kids getting burned on the fondue pots… so just keep an eye on where little hands are going.
For the experience you are treated to, the price is on point and well worth it.

I’ve been to a few melting pots in different cities and it’s always a great dining experience. Hats off to our server CJ for making it a great night. Our entrees took awhile to come out due to a «glitch» in the kitchen but the manager was very apologetic and offered to take care of our dessert. A very classy place for a special occasion.

We have dined at other Melting Pot locations before but it had been a few years since our last visit to one. My wife and I were visiting Myrtle Beach for the first time and knowing there was a MP decided to make a reservation to celebrate my birthday. I booked on OpenTable about a few weeks ahead of our visit and got a call a few days later from a manager to confirm the reservation and ask if we were celebrating any special occasion. I mentioned it was my Birthday and he said he would put us at a better table. Apparently if you book Online you are automatically placed at one set of tables. Maybe only some of their tables are set aside for online? In any event, it might be best to call them directly to make a reservation although in all likelihood they will call you.
When booking online I had to choose 5:45pm or earlier or after 8pm. Since it is a longer dining experience I chose 5:45. I was expecting the place to be packed by 7pm but it wasn’t. I would always allow at least two hours for any meal at the Melting Pot.
One thing that seems to have changed is that the dinner choices all include the cheese course instead of being able to choose everything a-​la carte. My wife usually avoids dairy and in the past when we have gotten the cheese and it was just the two of us, it was way too filling. Our server said that she could give us extra portions for the dessert course in lieu of the cheese course. Works for us.
We also like that with the entrees, anything can be subbed out.
We got a bottle of wine and the per bottle prices were not bad and their wine list had a number of good options.
Service was excellent. If you are looking for a slower paced meal or a romantic dinner for two then the Melting Pot is a good choice.

I have driven by the Melting Pot for years always convincing myself that I would not like this type of place. While on vacation my nephew suggested that we go for dinner. I decided to go along with an open mind. Wow! Why have I avoided this fantastic place for years is now the question on my mind. We did the Big Night which is four courses and takes some of the guess work out of the picture. Our server, Josh, fully explained the menu and all options. I’m still amazed how great the food was and will certainly return!

AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH!!! We got the create your own 4 course with Shrimp, filet mignon, sirloin, mahi mahi, and sachetti. The service was fantastic, our waitress was really fun and welcoming, the food was AMAZING. I absolutely loved this place, nothing bad I could possibly say about it. My boyfriend and I’s first time eating there and it definitely won’t be our last!

Second time coming here, we only ate dessert but the food and the service was wonderful. Josh Gray was our server in training and was extremely professional, knowledgable, and personable. Not only does the food, but the service makes for an amazing experience. Will be coming back!

Great over all experience! My boyfriend and myself along with another couple went their on vacation to celebrate my birthday! By far the best birthday dinner ever! From the owner working the front area as a hosted to the manager coming to take pictures accompanied by a souvenir frame down to the best server ever, Anna was awesome! The food was seasoned to perfection and plus I was the chef! The ambiance was breath taking and the service was incredible. Every trip to Myrtle Beach in the future we will have to add a melting pot visit!

Delicious food, friendly staff and overall nice atmosphere. We look forward to coming here when we’re on vacation in Myrtle Beach.

We went to The Melting Pot with a gift certificate. Our children have been to one in New York but we decided to try the one in Myrtle. We were met by Josh, the manager who couldn’t have been nicer. We decided to try the 4 course experience along with the wine pairing. We we unable to finish the 1^st, 3^rd and last courses but enjoyed them the following day for lunch. It’s an experience definitely worth trying.

Pricey but excellent! The filet and lobster were my favorite entrees. The mojo cooking pot had a Indian spice taste. Next time I will try a different one.
We are already full and the chocolate is still to come.

We took our children there for Christmas Eve. This was the first time we ever visited this restaurant chain. I was disappointed in the overall experience not to mention that it was EXTREMELY over priced. It was $ 145 plus tip for four people (2 were children) plus tip. I couldn’t believe that we had to cook our own meal. All the food is brought to the table raw. Even the steaks. Not to mention if you order filet minion why would you want to boil it in vegetable broth. Save your money it definitely wasn’t worth what they charged. If I wanted to cook my own meal I would have stayed home.

Always such an excellent meal. Have not been since 2003 but was very impressed. We were there on September 9^th. Our server (should have written down his name) has exceptional. Excellent salad and loved our entrée. Need to remember dessert in itself is a reason to swing in!!!

The service was wonderful, the food was delicious, the place was clean and we had it all to ourselves at 1pm on a Thursday.
The lunch specials are a really good deal and although a bit smaller you will definitely be full if you do cheese, beef and a desert. They had snickers desert chocolate with nuts and caramel in special when we went.
We got the quattro fromaggio cheese which was great. It got nice and stringy at the end when the mozzarella was finally melting and the beef broth with the wine for our entrée. The broth itself was so tasty you didn’t need any of the sauces.
We even thought their cocktail sauce was the best of the week, nice with a good amount of horseradish.

Totally baffled by the great reviews. This restaurant is definitely NOT FOR FAMILIES. And not for tired moms, either, with or without the kids. Poor service, horribly confusing menu, least relaxing meal ever, and mediocre taste. Let me detail how my night went.
First, I arrive with my husband, mother, and incredibly well-​behaved 6 year old. We are all tired and really hungry after a long day at the beach.
But when we sat down and looked at the menu, none of us could figure out what we were looking at. Instead of a list of food along with prices, there were several paragraphs with confusing headings like «Pick 3» and «Crave Combo.» All the meals were priced for 2 people to share (55 – 65 dollars minimum). The menu items said things like «one cheese, one chocolate, salad, and pick 3» — no explanation anywhere for what any of that meant. I stared at the menu for five minutes and none of us could figure it out. We couldn’t even figure out if we could order something for one person instead of two.
Server shows up and asks if we are ready to order. We explain why we are not ready to order. She gives us some kind of explanation auctioneer-​fast and then walks away. We still have no idea what’s going on. We wait for her to come back and ask again for her to explain because we just can’t order when we can’t even figure out how.
I’ll summarize the rest, but let’s just say that between us we had four graduate degrees including a PhD and figuring this out was almost beyond us.
So it turned out that the four courses actually means we all get a salad, we all share a pot of cheese fondue with dippers, we all share a pot of broth to dip entrée items in, and we all share a pot of chocolate fondue for desert.
BUT — we all have to share one fondue pot at all times. That means we all have to choose the same cheese flavor. Not fun.
And here’s the really bad part: They give us our entrees uncooked and we get to COOK OUR OWN FOOD. Yippee, can I go home now? Who wants to do that? Maybe young hipsters who live on restaurant food or hoity toity foodies, but NOT real people who already cook at home and expect to be served in a restaurant.
Plus, I’m a vegetarian — how am I going to share a pot of broth with meat in it? She tells me I’ll have to cook my vegetables in the pot first, and then everyone else will cook their food when I’m done.
So I ask her, how long will that take? I mean, we’re hungry, and now we’re talking about me having to cook my meal while everyone waits to start cooking theirs. She says 30 – 45 minutes. I freak out. You want my family to wait 30 – 45 minutes for me to cook my food in a pot on the table, before they can even begin cooking theirs?
Now the helpful manager jumps in. It’s European, he says. It’s the European style of eating. It’s good for conversation. So apparently, we’re just too American for this place. Except I’ve lived in Europe and eaten plenty of European meals, and never once had to cook my own food while everyone else waits.
I decide to forgo the entrée and order one of the fondue combos that skips the entrée and just does a cheese fondue and a dessert. She tells me the problem is that everyone else will be cooking their food for 30 – 45 minutes while I do nothing. This just gets better and better.
I tell her I don’t care. We finally order.
Salads come. Californian salad is very good. That’s the first and last good thing of the night.
Cheese fondue comes — she mixes it up in a pot on our table and we get some bread and vegetable to dip in it. Cheese is tasteless and mostly has the effect of making the bread soggy and the vegetable wet. My six year old sums it up with «blech.»
Entrée fondue shows up — a pot of hot broth on the table. I dump the remainder of my cheese fondue vegetables in and everyone kindly puts their veggies into the pot so that I can eat some if I want. We time it with an iphone and take them out after 6 minutes. They taste ok — pretty much like vegetables dipped in vegetable broth. Which they basically are.
Then comes the «European» type thing where everyone gets to dip their uncooked meat in the pot. Turns out we are not classy or something because everyone dumps their meat in at once and again we time it and take the meat out. It takes about another 5 minutes. The meat is OK, or so I’m told, but the act of having cooked it ourselves in a pot of broth added nothing to the meal whatsoever except that my 6 year old managed to burn himself three times. He did not cry or complain. He really is great in a restaurant.
Summary — The food did not taste great and there was nothing fun at all about having to cook it ourselves. It was a stressful evening and not at all relaxing. Would never go again and don’t recommend to moms or families. This lousy experience cost us about $ 200.

First time at the Melting Pot– was pleasantly surprised! We Ordered the three-​course meal: Caprese salad, Four Cheese fondue and Shrimp, Herb chicken and ravioli with Coq au Vin pot. All was very fresh and delicious. Nice specialty drinks, great waitstaff. It was plenty of food for two!

The food was delicious and it was a very cool experience. Would recommend to anyone looking to try new things and share something new with their friends!
Dan, our waiter was incredible. You could tell he genuinely loved his job and enjoyed his work. We made him aware it was our first time and he was patient when we asked him to repeat the process or specific steps numerous times. He made our first visit to the restaurant a pleasure and made us eager to return. We have only shared positive experiences with the melting pot to our friends and family.

My daughter brought my son and I here, as a treat, for lunch, several months ago. I believe it was priced reasonably for lunch and the décor was more for a date, than for a family.
However we were given our extended forks and tiny rations of food to dip into our fondue. It was tasty, but the portions were quite skimpy. My son quietly said to me he was still hungry afterwards. I told him he can fill up at home. This was his sisters treat, and we came here because I mentioned I wanted to try it.
I love my daughter for more reasons than I can count, and appreciate her buying me lunch, but I feel she was ripped off. I don’t like that feeling, but I was not in a position to complain. I won’t be back.
