When I was in Myrtle Beach, we decided to check out Tommy Bahama’s due to other’s great recommendations. It was well worth it. This is a nice upscale place if your looking for top notch food(well who isn’t) with a island inspired menu with featuring fresh seafood and juicy steaks. 5 out of the 7 people enjoyed their meal while the remaining 2 thought it was the worst meal the whole vacation and that was the fish tacos and the macadamia nut crusted snapper. I tried the crab stuffed shrimp and they were absolutely delicious. Someone else had the blackened mahi mahi(which is what I was going to order) and that was scrumptious. For the appetizers, we tried the macadamia nut encrusted goat cheese, chicken lollipops, seared scallop sliders and short rib sliders — you can’t go wrong with any of these. For dessert, we tried the triple chocolate cake and piña colada cake. Both desserts had a nice twist, the piña colada cake was a lighter cake but neither did I love. Would probably have given a fifth star if the desserts were better. Overall, Tommy Bahama’s has a great indoor ambiance(except for the flies! they were flying all over our food because the doors were open) and a nice outdoor patio. It feels like you are vacationing on an island outside of the US. Everyone loves that, right?!

A-Ok Let me start by saying that my expectations was a bit too high for this place. My family and I went there on a Tuesday afternoon. Had reservation at 6:30 and showed up early. The staff was nice and attentive. As we ordered I notice that they had very little beer selection for this type of restaurant, but hey blue moon will do. After placing the our orders, the bread that was brought to our table was Super Good… Ahh!!! I bet the food is even better… Then our server came and told me that they were out of the entrée that I ordered. No prob it happens, I opted for a couple of appetizers instead. As I waited for my re-ordered, everyone in my party had their food and about to finish before I flagged down my server and ask about my order. Let me check he said… No prob… I have patience. Finally I could no longer wait and decided to cancel my order. The nice server told me that the food is on the way, but I told him just to cancel it. Then the manager came out and said that it was prepared and they will not charge me for it… I said no but he insisted. Great bring it on then… Then it happened, I should have not taken that food. The chef must have forgotten that he/she already put salt twice and decided to add more on my orders… So salty that I could not even finish one bite… didn’t eat it… So the kitchen manager came out and offered desert once he notice that my order was not touched. Sure to go please… Our server brought out this tray full of sweets and we pointed out the two that we would take home… To my surprise, when we got back the desert was half of the size that they offered… After spending $ 150 for five excluding my meal, that was pretty lame… I gave it 2.5 stars for service and management other than that…

While visiting Myrtle Beach with family, Tommy Bahama was our grand finale restaurant — and it was totally worth the wait!!! It is very rare that every single element of a meal, from the atmosphere, service, drinks, every course, is an outstanding 10⁄10. Good company certainly helps, which my husband & I also had. Our waiter, who I believe was named Keith, was absolutely a total Southern gentleman and we enjoyed his suggestions all evening. My husband & I split the macadamia crusted goat cheese. .. OMG total perfection it is served with a hoisin-type sauce that was amazing. Other app’s at the table were scallop sliders(also good). Main course — hubby had the Sanibel Chicken — another 10⁄10 — it comes stuffed with creamy goodness. .. just unbelievable. I ordered the blackberry bbq baby back ribs — they slid right off the bone and were spicy but the blackberry came through surprisingly strong. Garlic mash also good, as was the apple coleslaw. That being said, 2 people had the macadamia crusted snapper and they seemed extremely happy with their choices also. Truly, I am only sorry we didn’t have an opportunity to visit this place more than once! Someone at our table had a severe soft-shell allergy so it was avoided but no-one felt they missed out in the least. Coming from a city where food can be pricey, the prices were a welcome surprise(2 people, drinks, split app, 2 main and dessert = $ 76(without tip)). I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is visiting Myrtle Beach and wants to indulge in an extra-special meal. Market Common, where it is located, is also lovely to walk around in.

Had a great dinner and service on a Thursday night, ate on the outside patio. Started with drinks, on the expensive side but good volume and excellent taste. Warm bread and a butter flavored with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a very light touch of pumpkin, delicious. Son had a 12 oz Strip steak, cooked to perfection with onion straws and bacon as a topper. He loved it. Garlic mashed potatoes very good. Wife had a salad with salmon, excellent. Daughter had chicken with wheat pasta, grape tomatoes and onion in a light wine broth. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with jerk sauce, onion straws, pepper jack cheese, very good on a delicious broche bun. Server was very attentive to drinks and food. They have a great menu and would like to go back to try out other items.

We enjoyed an awesome meal here to end our Spring Break 2013. We make it a habit to stop at Tommy Bahama if there is one ion the city we are visiting, and this one kept the streak of delicious meals going. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Our drinks, even water, were never empty and our food was served quickly and hot. The fish tacos were outstanding, along with the coconut shrimp and crab soup. The crab soup was so great, my husband went to the store and bought the cookbook.

I’ve seen this establishment in many«tourist-centric» locations in the past and just steered-clear based on my own skepticism and preference for quieter venues. But I was in Myrtle Beach for work and client wanted mid-afternoon lunch. Big plus was that it was open all day so 3pm lunch was possible. Big surprise was how good the food was. Fish tacos, guacamole, crab cake appetizer with awesome sauce… excellent salad choices. Fried plantains were delicious… I would definitely go again… and for me, middle of the afternoon was perfect without huge crowds of a weekend night.

Timmy Bahamas is not too far from the airport which is how we ended up here. The service was great and friendly. The waitress was super accommodating. for example she offered to take back something one of us didn’t like because it had bleu cheese(even though the menu said it had bleu cheese and she told him it had bleu cheese– doh!). Also, you have to ask for ketchup with your burger and fries and then they only give you about a tablespoon of it in a little cup. Why do places do this? But anyway, our waitress brought us a bowl of it which was more than enough for us ketchup lovers! The food, in my opinion, is forgettable. Burgers and shrimp & grits are good but none of us were wow’d. I would come back if I needed to eat somewhere in the area but would not venture out specifically to eat here again.

Another of my favorite places to eat in MB. Crab bisque is sooooooo good! I’ve never had anything to eat here that wasn’t wonderful. Ambiance is relaxed and service is always great! Prices are reasonable(considering you will pay the same or more at most of the other places in the area for fried indistinguishable food… at least what I imagine is or once was food). Great place!!!

This is one of the few Myrtle Beach restaurants you can count on for fresh tasty food that is not fried or a buffet. I am not normally a fan of chain restaurants but when my options were limited I decided to stop here for lunch. It is right next door to the Tommy Bahama store and decorated as one might expect if you are familiar with the brand. There is a big outdoor dining area and nice doors that open to give you fresh air when its nice outside even if you are dining inside. I had the fish tacos and was very happy with them. The flavors were nice and none too overpowering. You could taste the deliciously cooked fish and was so glad it came with the good kinda slaw– the kind without mayo! The service was also excellent and I was overall, very pleased with my visit. I will go back when in the area visiting family again– who all agreed that it was a delicious meal.

Hawaiian shirts… happy. Cocktails… happy. Yummy small bites. happy. Live music… happy! No wonder Tommy Bahama’s hast he best happy hour in Myrtle Beach! While golfing, my husband and his friends were told to check out the happy hour here. In California, one of my friends was also told to not miss the happy hour specials here. Happy hour runs EVERYDAY, weekends included!!!, from 4pm-7pm. Specials extend to food and cocktails. What made us happy: –mango mojito($ 6)…oh so minty! –coconut cloud martini($ 7) complete with toasted coconut shavings –ahi tuna poke($ 7) served with a creamy guac –3 fish tacos($ 5) My friends and I absolutely love key lime pie so we had to order a slice even if it was not on the happy hour menu. Couldn’t get enough of the slightly sweet slightly tart pie with the thick layer of whipped cream on top!

Great food! If you want fast service, use the regular dining room not the bar. However, happy hour is a good deal and is only in the bar area. The goat cheese small plate and the sanibel chicken are the best! –update– This is closed now(as of fall 2013) & we are waiting to see what replaces it… Don’t hold your breath!

I must say that Tommy Bahama’s is one of my FAVorite Restaurants! Everything they serve here is PHENominal! The Prices are reasonable for the quality you get, the ambiance of the indoor seating is nice and comfy and kinda swanky. The booths have big fluffy pillows in them if you want to take a nap before you finish one of their huge burgers off! I love the fish tacos, burgers and Margarittas! I was a bit hesitant to pay $ 11 for a drink but after trying one these Margarittas there is no further hesitation. The food usually takes a while to come out but is consistantly GREAT! Tommy’s has never been very busy or packed when I’ve visited, not sure how they would deal with a slammed dining room. I’d rather pay a little more for GREAT food than pay a little less for terrible food. After visiting the MB area for many years I’m glad to have found Tommy Bahama’s! It’s a place that serves consistently GREAT food. TB’s is on my short list of places I must eat at while visiting MB!

Stopped by Tommy Bahamas on a Sunday night after spending the day in Myrtle Beach. There was no wait and we were seated right away. Our waiter came by within a minute took take our drink order, my friend and I both ordered sangria. We ordered cinnamon sugar plantains for an appetizer which arrived quickly. For two people there was a lot left over, but they tasted fantastic. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich for an entrée. The garlic aioli on the sandwich gave it the perfect kick and was cooked to perfection. This was my first visit to a Tommy Bahama’s and won’t be my last.

**DESERTREVIEWONLY** Stopped in for desert as the Pina Colada Cake was featured on the front of the Grand Strand magazine last October(I think?). Anyway, it looked and sounded delicious. It was just OK. I hate being disappointed by desert. But luckily I drug my two wonderful kids along that NEVER complain when I drag them around for moveable feasts and because I don’t want to look like the biggest pig ever by ordering three things to eat all by myself. Not that I am above that but if I have a stalker they would probably become diabetic trying to keep up with my insatiable appetite. And I’m thinking I really should TRY to keep up my appearance and not let others on the insane amount of food that I eat.(No I am not a super fluffy person. I don’t eat when I work my 12 — 16 hour shifts and am constantly running so it all evens out I guess ;) Anywhoooo… I actually LET the kids pick what they wanted instead of dictating what they had to order so I could taste what I wanted. They got the Triple Chocolate cake — just OK as well, and the Malted Chocolate Pie — SOOOOOYUM!!! This is why the review gets 3 stars instead of 2 for the deserts review. I really wanted to try the Key Lime Pie as this is one of my favorite deserts but it really would have been overkill as I was in a chocolate/sugar coma within minutes of paying my bill and leaving. The Malted Chocolate pie is your BESTBET!!! oH MYGOODNESS!

My husband and I went here during restaurant week this year which offered 3 course meals. I ordered a salad for an appetizer, grilled mahi mahi served over risotto with mushroom broth for the meal and the pudding for dessert. It was delicious. According to the server the portions were smaller with the 3 course deal but there was still a lot of food. The salad had fruit, nuts, and bacon on it. The main course was delicious. It was maybe 4 – 6 ounces of fish served over a delicious mushroom risotto. I don’t know if it’s regularly available on the menu but I would order it again if I could. The pudding was delicious and decadently rich. I was actually too full to finish it but my husband happily took care of it for me. He had key lime pie for his dessert and that was pretty tasty too. His appetizer was some kind of cheese dish and I remember his entrée was something with chicken. I don’t remember fully because I was too wrapped up in my meal I think haha. This place is pretty pricey so I certainly wouldn’t go on a regular basis but it’s nice for an every once in a while kind of treat. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. There are throw pillows in the booths which was weird but neat. The service was fast and friendly and the manager dropped by every table to make sure everything was going well. Give it a try but keep in mind that it is definitely not a cheap restaurant.

Excellent food with a classy décor and a casual atmosphere. As an appetizer our party ordered the Coconut Shrimp, the Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Ahi Tuna Tacos; all were delicious and had us fighting over the last bits. My Filet and Shrimp entrée was cooked perfectly, and everyone at the table raved about their own foods. Getting a table was a snap, as you can reserve your table online at their website. Our large party was seated right away in a semi-private room, and our waiter deftly dealt with all our needs, including the picky eight year old with us(who later described his plain spaghetti noodles in olive oil as «the best noodles ever»). Pricey, but you get good portions for your penny. We’ll certainly go here again next year.

Tommy TERRIFIC! Almost everytime I bring friends down to Myrtle Beach, we hit up Tommy Bahama’s restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Here is the deal… they have extremely fresh and imaginative dishes and if you love seafood… omgoodness… For those of us who love a good happy hour special, every night from 4 – 7 they have Island Happy Hour… $ 4 – 7 cocktails/wine, beer, etc. And they offer a selection of $ 5 appetizers that are huge! 3 fish tacos for $ 5! Generally, they will offer a prix fix deal as well… 3 – 4 courses that are a real bargain and gives you a great sampling of their menu. In my humble opinion, this is the best restaurant in MB! Everyone from young adults to your parents will love the vibe and cuisine!

I am very disappointed in Tommy Bahama Quality of clothing now. Everything is from China and you know, China trys to skirt what they Export to the USA. The quality is not as good as it used to be. I have 12TB silk shirts, 8 pairs of pants and a host of Polo shirts Not to mention shoes and belts. Oh ! I just did. Please go back to the better QUALITY clothing TB. If you like nick knacks, glass ware, or other things for the home. They have a good selection, again made in China. I have been a TB customer for many, many years. I hope to see better quality in the future in their clothing line and not made in China.

Went back here on 6⁄12 with my family. All the food was VERYGOOD. The service was top notch. We had the Scallop Sliders, The Crab Cake and the BBQ Chicken Lollipop Appetizers. We had 2 Filets, Ribs, Scallops and Shrimp, and The Bungalow Salad with Grilled Chicken for Entrees. For Dessert we had 2 Pina Colada Cakes, A Chocolate Cake, and a Brownie. My Dad’s only compliant about the Brownie dessert was that he got one from the side of the pan, and half of the brownie was moist and the other half was dry. They messed up my salad order and I FINALLY got it about the time everyone else finished their entrees, but it was easy to overlook bc of the quality of the food and service. They had a great live musician. The atmosphere was lively and fun.
