Rootbeer float slushie is super tasty. I haven’t seen someone use a calculator to tally a bill for a while, but that is the way they do it here… old school.

A little piece of all-American heaven in a small town! This A&W has inside seating where you will be served by friendly and helpful staff members, outside old fashioned drive-up and delivery to your car, as well as outside picnic benches perfect for sitting with a root beer float and enjoying the summer breeze. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, got my order right every time, fast, affordable, and the food was absolutely delicious! They’ll make you a float out of any soda or flavor they have so go ahead and ask for something special! Perfect stop in a small town for a burger and root beer float!

This is as good as all-american heartland gets. I had a crispy chix sandwich and a root bear float and loved every bite and every sip as I sat in the diner and soaked it all up. the air is clean, you can see for miles and the people are friendly. All i needed was John Mellencamp in the corner singing a little ditty bout Jack and Diane.

As far as fast food goes, there’s nothing quite like an A & W Drive in, now is there? If you’re a rootbeer fan there IS no other choice! Myrtle Point may be actual«home» to few folks, but far more pass through on their way inland or to the coast — so A & W becomes rather ritualistic for some of us travelers. It’s a quick stop in(old fashioned window service right to the car) and in quick order you’ll have food! Okay so you know pretty much what it’s gonna taste like. You know the same when you frequent any other fast food joint, but there’s something about real root beer, fry sauce, and just a good ol’ cheeseburger when you’re on your way somewhere. Since Myrtle Point is the home of our Coos County Fair, there IS one week of the year you’ll fight traffic in this one horse town. But there’s something warm, inviting, and rather refreshing about a small, rural farming community that’s only half hour or so away from the ocean. It looks even better when you’re slurping an old fashioned root beer — make it a float! You only go through every so often… and how many communities can even report HAVING an A & W! Myrtle Point can… and they do. I confess — I’m an A&W junkie at least when passing through Myrtle Point.
