I always get the worst service coming in here. So glad they made another fabric store near me. These snarky women act like they are doing you a favor and are down right rude.

I went to Hancock Fabrics to purchase some fabric to recover my couch. My sister referred me to this store because she shops for her fabric here. This was my first experience and I most likely won’t be back unless I need to purchase something specifically from there. I grabbed fabric from the $ 6 section and had 3 yards cut and handed to me. When I got to the register I was told my total was $ 53. You can imagine the look on my face. I told the cashier there was a mistake and that was supposed to be $ 6 a yard. Walked her to the section and showed her were it was but she wouldn’t call a manager for me and told me to use a coupon instead. Ended up paying a lot more than I wanted to and I should have just walked out. I told my sister about my experience and she informed me that they were supposed to tell me the price of the fabric before it was cut in case it was in the wrong section.

I frequent this Hancock’s more than other locations because of it’s proximity to where I work, but in truth they could do a better job overall. The staff are always overwehelmed when I go in around lunch time. They are often curt and borderline rude. Its not as well stocked and organized as the West Ashley location. Fabric is a bit dishoveled and there stock is often running low in the notions area. If you are looking for decent variety and value, its a good choice, but whenever possible I prefer Hobby Lobby’s selection which is a bit higher end. Happy sewing!
