Description

Specialties

housemade desserts, cream pies, lilikoi bars, we make breads and buns for all our sandwiches and burgers, local foods and all Amerian favorites… we have shortened our hours for the months of Sept and Oct… the official off season but will post our new hours for the winter months in late October.

History

Established in 2003.

Formerly the Naalehu Coffee Shop since 1940, we gave the place new life in 2003. We are still using the same stove that fed the soldiers based on South Point in WW2. Hana Hou enjoys the tradition of being the «hub of Aloha» in the southern region of the Big Island. We have added the two motel rooms in back for folks who want an easy place to spend the night and relax. Book on line at Airbnb or check at the restaurant. Hana Hou is an historic icon in our town over 100 yrs old and still going.

Meet the Business Owner

Patty F.

Business Owner

Born in California, migrated to Hawaii in 1978. I have been in the food biz all my life. Hana Hou is my third café and I just really love the small town atmosphere of Naalehu. My Husband Drake and I moved to Naalehu in 1995 and opened Hana Hou in 2003. Our Manager Ipo has been with us from the beginning and we could not do it without her. Her genuine Aloha, and the good foods prepared by our chefs has kept our customers coming back for ten years now. Thanks to all of them and all our fabulous guests for making Hana Hou the place to go. Mahalo Patty
