Napa Winery Inn, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

We loved this hotel. A great location and wonderful staff. They made us feel so at home as we traveled up the coast with our pup. We highly recommend this hotel and plan to return!

We just arrived at our hotel and already we are impressed and happy! The staff were sooo pleasant; courteous and soo welcoming. They had several discount coupons ready for us at front desk for complimentary wine tasting to 6 different wineries. Waiting for us in our room was another special greeting personalized with my boyfriend name next to a complimentary wine bottle and 2 wine glasses! Absolutely satisfying so far.

Wow I wish I could give this place zero stars. Of all the hotels in Napa Valley, you should pick ANY other hotel. We booked this place based on the fact that they would give us a package of a voucher for dinner and a wine reception. Not only did they not send us a confirmation email after booking it and charging the card, but upon arrival proceeded to tell us that the package hasn’t existed for years. I’m sorry, but did I stumble into a hotel package horror movie? Since I typically ride on the faith of good customer service, we told them that we had seen it and we only booked the place because of the package that now doesn’t exist anymore. They repeatedly told us it was non refundable but didn’t do anything for our current situation other than offer more wine tasting cards. Since we are only passing through and leaving in the morning those tastings are pretty much useless. Instead of letting us speak to their manager, the receptionist went into the office to call her off-​hours and then told us that the package never existed and there’s nothing they can do. I’ve worked in the service industry for a while, there’s ALWAYS something you can do. They advised us to talk to the manager at 7am when she comes in tomorrow, which I would consider an inconvenience for people driving all day who just want a nice rest before driving the next day. Very inconsiderate, flippant, and unhelpful. I would never suggest anyone come here. I’d rather tell guests to book a chain motel than here, at least there’s some god damn consistency.

Excellent service, very clean and we got an upgrade because it was my boyfriends birthday. Room had an amazing jacuzzi tub and direct access to the pool which was heated and clean. We will be back again… Thank you!

Renovation work going on. Noisy. This was not disclosed while booking the hotel.

They have an email address as an option to contact them. I prefer to email than telephone just my preference. Thus, I sent off an email two days ago and have yet to get a reply. Another hotel in the area I emailed and received a reply within half an hour. Read about bad customer service from at least one previous reviewer and I believe it’s true after my experience.

This hotel was a great value! Some of the things I liked:
– Friendly front desk staff who helped me print out my boarding pass.
– Pretty quiet. Only once did I briefly hear people talking in the hallway.
– They have wine tasting coupons for many of the local wineries.
– The included breakfast is pretty good. The eggs were different every day and were actually seasoned. The bacon and sausage were decent. There was also toast, cereal, and yogurt.
– Free Wifi, although I had to log in frequently.
– Coffee, cider, and hot chocolate in the lobby around the clock.
– Free wine reception every afternoon including fruit, crackers, and cheese. I had a sauvignon blanc that was very drinkable.
– The room was clean and functional; no complaints.
Sure, I didn’t have turndown service, and the breakfast wasn’t worthy of even a quarter Michelin star, but for the price, we had a great stay and would heartily recommend it!

Customer service here is horrible. Whoever answers the phone and deals with customers/​reservations is rude and not understandable and did not seem to care about the customer at all. It’s customer service, we should come first. I will never stay here or give them another cent. They screwed me over. Stay away.

This hotel is not quite what it appears in the advertisement.
It is very dated. Rooms appear as though they have not seen an update since the hotel opened. The floor in my room had holes underneath the carpet as I walked I could feel my foot fall into them. The lighting is very poor. Which assisted in the rooms appear in quite drab and dark.
The beds were ok but nothing special as far as comfort.
We reserved a king and were given 2 queens for our kid free romantic weekend. Quite the disappointment. No real apology, at the very least a glass of wine offered would have been nice.
The location was not at all as convenient as it should have been for the cost. It was not near downtown or the vineyards. An hour walk to get downtown so we just ubered it everywhere.
There is a wine reception that we missed by a few minutes checking in so I cannot comment on that. The free breakfast is very basic. They had bagels and cream cheese and some yogurt, which was a plus. The hot food left something to be desired as it was scrambled eggs (tastes premise) and that very thin microwaveable bacon. The coffee was undrinkable.
The cost for this hotel was very high and should have been a nicer place. Disappointed in the experience overall and would not be back unless they go through a massive renovation.

Nice hotel but we were in disabled room, the bathroom was awkward and water got everywhere when showering.

This was a great hotel! Rooms were average but the breakfast was amazing and the people were very friendly! Everything was very clean and I would for sure stay here again! The wine reception was also very nice and all the staff members were very nice and informative!

I was in town for just one night and was very happy here. Planning on staying longer next time. Bed was super comfortable. Quiet, superb customer service and a great breakfast. It is under renovation but didn’t bother me. Can’t wait to see when it is done. Nice job Napa Winery Inn!

I came to this place for my birthday and given the 4 stars on Unilocal I decided to give this place a shot only to be disappointed.
The place was being restored which I was aware of and was ok with.
Upon check in we asked for a smoking room not because we smoke as we do NOT however, I use my vape once in a while, to my surprise smoking rooms do not exist here.
Since that wasn’t a deal breaker we decided to stay anyways only to get a knock on our door 30 minutes later, from one of the cleaning ladies under the pretense of «there is no telephone in your room so I need to put this one in there», I thought this was fishy so I grabbed the phone from her and closed the door.
A few minutes later Malissa the person who checked us in had the audacity to come to our door (while I am naked and getting ready to hop in the shower) to ask if «there is a problem?» And proceeded to say that we needed to stop smoking of we would be fined.
It was obvious that the lady they sent in with the «phone» was only sent out to spy on us, almost as if I am still living at my parents house. Ridiculous.
Have some balls and address the issue instead of sending your minion to spy.
Needless to say after making us feel incredibly un welcomed and uncomfortable we decided to skip their pathetic wine reception and instead went to a real wine tasting in town.
When we returned from our outing the manager (whom accompanied Malissa while the accusations and harassment took place) greets us and tries to make small talk as if nothing happened a few hours prior.
After this horrible experience we only decided to stay because A) we were not guilty of smoking and therefore had nothing to hide and B) we truly didn’t want to bother with spending my birthday looking for another hotel, but one thing is a fact; I will never give my business to these people ever again.

Overall really good option for a reasonable priced hotel in Napa. My boyfriend and I wanted a last minute New Years getaway, and found a room for about $ 150 including taxes on Expedia. Check in was quick and staff very friendly. Room pretty standard and very clean. They had a complimentary wine reception which was just ending when we got there, but a nice touch. Only reason for not getting a 5 star is when I came back into room after using hot tub and one of the provided towels, I saw it was extremely worn and almost beige (when originally white) from stains and years of use. I’m sure probably sanitary, but still probably time to invest in some new clean pool towels. Otherwise would recommend for a quick trip, not necessarily a long romantic getaway if you plan on being in room entire time. Perfect for our needs!

We booked our stay here for 2 nights due to the location and great price.
Pros:

Cons:
Beds aren’t the comfiest, more on the firm side
Overall, we loved our stay! Everyone was really friendly and you can’t beat how close it is to most of the wineries and restaurants. Christy was handling the wine reception on the nights that we were there, and she was super helpful with answering all our questions and giving us recommendations for wineries (including some bogo tastings!).
Great hotel to stay at without breaking the bank!

Napa Winery Inn was formerly the John Muir Inn&now under new ownership. It has a view of Justin-​Siena High School, nearby Klamath Park, the vacant Oventi/​Marie Callender’s, the neighborhood&the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The plusses–
They have a wine reception in the afternoons, complete with a winery representative.
They do offer good snacks in the lobby, like fruit, cheeses, cookies, and a strawberry/​orange infused water.
It’s fairly clean. They keep up the rooms&bathrooms.
The negatives–
Sometimes, the wine reception runs late… and the wine isn’t all that good.
The TVs are complicated to operate. More complicated than all the tech language in
about the Apple, NeXT&iMac.
Poor lighting out front. What do they think this is, «American Horror Story: Hotel»?
The elevator could use some work.
Overall, it’s OK.

They are the absolute WORST when it comes to customer service. I called with notice letting them know my husband became ill and it would be impossible to leave town. Seeing as how they have a no refund policy, I was hoping we could postpone our reservation. Over the phone their reservation manager offered me information, which was later contradicted by their receptionist. They are either unfamiliar with their policies or purposely did not want to accommodate me. To make matters worse, their manager NEVER returned my numerous phone calls/​messages in order to offer clarification. Their website states one thing, but over the phone they say another.
Luckily, I disputed the charge through my bank and received part of my room fee back, yet it should have never had to come to that. If you are going to book this hotel beware of their NO REFUND OR POSTPONE policy and RUDE employees. I will never stay here and encourage others to do the same!

Great staff, good breakfast, clean rooms, free wi-​fi, dog friendly. We are one of those annoying dog parents and try to take our Biskers everywhere. We booked for a couple of nights the 4^th of July weekend and this was one of the more reasonable priced places. Our baby got a doggy bag, we got a king-​sized bed, free wine tasting, a pretty good hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, lots of bacon and sausage). Not within walking distance to downtown but a short ride. Would definitely come back again.

We were pleased with David at check-​in, helping us find our
information to get us checked-​in quickly so the kids could swim for a couple hours.
This was a nice place to stay. The check-​in staff was very friendly, helpful, and beyond excellent. The room was a comfy temperature upon opening the door. There is a little pool and hot tub that was perfect for the warm evening.
The morning staff was just as wonderful. Greeted upon exiting the elevator. Kind smiles and welcomed us to enjoy their breakfast.
When we come back to visit our friends in Napa, we will be staying here again.

* Dog friendly– Atreyu loved it. Any place that accepts my pit bull is amazing in my book. On top of that they also gave him a doggy bag with a toy, treats and poop bags. I was surprised by how welcoming and loving the staff and guests were to trey.
*The staff was awesome. David, Jeffery and Krista were all smiles and helped us in so many ways (use of a microwave, phone charger, refrigerator in room, late check out) plus they remembered the kids names. All the small touches were nice.
*Free breakfast, free wine tasting, pool, hot tub, super clean and great location. 6 stars!
