Oh for the love of God this is horrible. I can not hear my TV in my apartment with all the doors and windows closed when the person upstairs runs their air conditioner. The pictures on my wall shake! I can’t sit in the living room I pay for and watch TV much less have my door open??? Run don’t walk away from The Addison of Naperville!!!

If the extermination service was so REPUTABLE they would have found the source of the problem which could have been the MANY TOILET OVERFLOWINGS and/​or SEWER BACKUPS and FLOODS and I wouldn’t have had to contact you to bring them out on numerous occasions. The first roach sighting was in May and I kept seeing them until I high tailed it out of there in August! I’m seeing roaches for three months but GENERAL PEST CONTROL is a reputable company?! They claim that they saw nothing but yet I have pictures and saw roaches for months but this is a REPUTABLE extermination company?! Just stop with your practiced, dry response and tell that to someone who may believe your lies. If the Addison of Naperville was so REPUTABLE the Addison wouldn’t be getting soooo many negative reviews. There’s obviously something not right. You can count the number of positive reviews on one hand. People aren’t stupid and can see the Addison of Naperville management for who you are. A SLUM LORD and everyone knows where there’s one roach there could me thousands. One «isolated indicent» sounds far fetched and as long as potential renters know (and you admitted) to one apartment having a pest problem they will be more reluctant to rent from you and I’ve done my job;-) now GOOD DAY TO YOU.

I had lived at Addison of Naperville for a year. I made a list as things were occurring so I would remember to write a review for this place once I was done living there. FYI This is my first Unilocal review. Naturally, if I am writing this review I am passionate enough to give people my opinion of this facility. I hope this will be a helpful resource for those who are considering moving there to prevent anyone else from moving there… seriously. Not a good place. The office people are getting better, but overall the apartment complex/​management company wants money. That is what will drive them and not the safety, health, and happiness of their tenants. Please read below for a list of things I had noticed during my stay there:
1. Notices of maintenance issues and fixes occurring in the near future for the building and/​or apartment consistently for about 6 months straight
2. No notice of fire in building attached to mine (lack of full disclosure)
3. Maintenance of grounds had been forgotten for about 3 months in front of my patio (I was on ground floor in a one bedroom)
4. Shutting off the water without notifying tenants beforehand
5. Tenant living above allowing pet to go to the bathroom on balcony on to my patio below. YES THIS HAPPENED. I am shocked too… apparently people are so lazy they adopt a pet and don’t have the energy to actually take them on walks. I e-​mailed the office and received no response.
6. Entering apartment to do maintenance that turned out to be different work tasks than what was stated on the notice.
7. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff in the office
8. Not diligent to alert tenants through e-​mails of upcoming maintenance on building or apartment.
9. No respect for your personal items — throughout a sprinkler installation project done in my apartment, I had paint splattered from the workers on a lamp, desk, and many other personal items that are now thrown away.
10. Packages will sit outside your door instead of in a locked office — clearly they are very passive with how they approach their tenants and their concerns
11. If there is an issue with a neighbor they will not respond to the issue… you must eventually assume it will be taken care of. You make a call and they won’t listen to you on the phone but they tell you to e-​mail their management group, and the e-​mail will never be answered.
12. DO NOT rent a garage, the doors are starting to fall outside of the tracks, the doors don’t meet the asphalt on the bottom so there is a large gap where debris and small animals can get in, and the cement on the bottom is crumbling. No upkeep whatsoever, yet you’re paying an extra fee to have one.
13. During the winter, there was one small plow working his way through the parking lot way after 10 a.m. so during the morning rush it was a madhouse. He was not in the parking lot early enough to even be considered as «helping.»
14. The fitness room smells and a bunch of things are broken and have not been replaced. Plus, there is no water cooler, they make you pay to get a bottle of water. This is what my rent is paying for obviously
15. If you intend to be up and out of your apartment before 9 a.m. on the weekends you MIGHT beat the traffic, however, they will not be done with the construction on 59 for the next century ergo… you are not going anywhere fast if you live in this neighborhood. It took me 40 mins. to travel 10 miles each morning.
16. They charge a convenience fee for ACH rental payments and didn’t used to when I first lived there. It is about $ 2.00 to be able to pay rent online.
Honestly, I hope my review plus others will prevent more people from having to deal with this place. I truly want no one to experience what I had experience and from reading other reviews it seems as though some people actually experienced much worse than I did. Hopefully this is helpful for others. Please feel free to pass along

i encourage anyone who has some sense not to move to the addison of naperville!!! the management is horrible and just want to take your money. they have shitty apartments and they want the apartment spotless when you move out, then charge you a ridiculous amount as your final bill. i am only stating facts so believe me when you look at this! they have had about 2 or 3 management companies take over in the past 2 or 3 years (which you can tell something is fishy.) i am really glad i am not living there anymore. 2 middle fingers to the whole staff and company! dont be a dummy and get scammed into moving into these apartments. you can even try other apartments in the area but do not i repeat do not move to the addison of naperville!!!

Their management team sucks! They really don’t give a damn about their residents they just want to take your money and let you figure everything else out. My neighbor just moved after living here for about 3 years because they said that they want to increase their rent. What kind of loyalty is that to their residents who have been good tenants for this long. They need to get their act together!

Ive lived in several apartments all over from different parts of the city and all over the burbs. Legit addison of Naperville is easily one of my favorites, my bf and i have a one bedroom with a den (which is basically a 2 bedroom for a one bedroom price, as the den is quite large) and its a nice open floor plan, the kitchen over looks the living room, lots of cabinet space, a separate laundry room with side by side washer and dryer (i hate the stacked washer and dryer like most apartments have they tear up the clothes) the den we have as our computer/​book room «office» that we keep open bedroom comfortably fits our cali king bed and a dresser, end tables and floor lamp with plenty of space to move around still, nice walk in closet, closet in den as well and in front hallway. Bathroom has an entrance both from bedroom and hallway, nice size bathroom as well, the toilet isn’t sitting right on top the sink or shower, again like in most. Everything is new, carpets clean, wood floors, new appliances. Ive had to email for a maintenance repair 2 times for little things like jammed drawer and front closet door not on track, he was there next day and fix very quickly. Everyone in the leasing office was nice and hospitable, answered all our questions simply no problems there.
Which brings me to my next point, after reading some of the reviews for this place i can’t help but laugh as some people just need to complain about anything. The management and leasing office don’t need to hold your hands through life, they don’t need to «care» about you once you moved in… your an adult right? its not like they live with you or that you even see them unless you go in to see them, i don’t understand why people are saying they are uncomfortable living here based on the management being rude or hurt your precious feelings. And some of the «problems» people listed… okay my personal opinion if you have lived here 5…6.7…8 years, ya you don’t get to complain about anything, you signed a year lease, if theres that many issues, ummm take a drive down the street to the several other apartments in this area. Price wise you will find they are in the same margins as all the others in the area, even slightly more reasonable. i would defiantly recommend this place to everyone and would advise, use common sense when reading peoples reviews, like i said, people like to complain about everything, if your an adult, can take care of yourself and enjoy a clean nice safe, spacious place to live, then you found it! bonus, i can pay my rent via text! woohoo lol

I currently live here and am in the process of looking for another place, upstairs neighbors water blew flooded my apt I asked for a rent credit for a Inconvenience they said we fixed in 3 days and were rude do not feel valued as a tenant screw Addison of Naperville do NOT move here other apartments are better in Naperville !!!

I moved in here in December 2013 and have been very pleased. I had a great experience while looking at the apartment and moving in thanks to Anthony. I love that he always remembers my name. There is another lady in the office that always remembers me too, I’m sad to say I don’t actually know her name. I have had to call maintenance to do a few things and they have always been great and fixed everything very quickly. I resigned after my first lease was up and have been very happy here :).

I lived there for eight years when it was Country Lakes. It started out as a pretty well managed and affordable complex, but over the years got worse & worse. There was a sexual assault 50 feet from the door of my apartment a few months before I moved out, and they’re more interested in keeping their costs low and getting new people in now than providing a quality experience for current residents. There are better options at the same price point.

That Raquel is the nastiest, ill mannered person I’ve ever dealt with. I’m not quite certain how her employees can stand going to work. God bless them and give them the strength to put up with her daily as I never have to deal with her again.
I remember when that complex was under different management years and years ago and the property manager was equally as kind as the staff.
Nasty to the highest degree. Words can not even begin to describe.

For the love of all things holy, DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
They are lying con artists who pretend to care about you until you move in and then it all changes. I moved in less than a week ago and within that time I’ve had 2 sewage backups and my toilet clogged 3 times. They tell me today that it was my fault and they’ll be filing a liability claim with my insurance. How do I cause all this when I’m at work all day and have been living here for 5 days??? I feel like this was just a way for them to place the blame on someone else after they failed to maintain their apartments properly.
Please do not fall for the friendly leasing agents — this place is hell. I can only imagine what is to come in the next 12 months.

I highly advise you not to move here.
I have lived here for a year and due to unfortunate circumstances, I had to sign another lease for 6 months. They added on almost $ 100 to my current rent.
I’ll begin with what just happened. We just had a big blizzard. Everyone was basically snowed in. They do great at plowing the parking lots except for the fact that they plowed a lot of snow around and behind my car so I am completely stuck. I don’t have a shovel so I called the office and asked if maintenance could help shovel my car out. The lady on the phone said, «oh no, I don’t think we can do that. They have too many work orders. Sorry.» And that was it. They don’t try to help anyone and no one in that office has empathy for a single soul who lives here. They make life hell for all of us. It costs too much to have to deal with their crappy attitudes. I feel very uncomfortable in my own home because of the management here.
Back in August 2014, I received a call while I was at work, from the management office. The lady who called me told me they were «receiving complaints» that my smoke detector was going off. Like it was my fault. Instead of sending someone to go in and check out the situation, she told me to let her know what was going on when I got home. She refused to send anyone inside. I raced home and discovered it was raining in my apartment. The water heater in the apartment above mine (I’m on the first floor), burst and soaked half my apartment. None of my stuff got ruined but it was a huge mess, water rained down from all of the fixtures. I called her back and told her to send maintenance immediately. They showed up about 5 minutes later (thank you, it was good timing) and then shut the water off upstairs. They called a water damage company and everything started getting fixed right away. My complaint is that after that day, I received no information on the status of my apartment. It was inhabitable and I had to keep calling back to ask when it would be done only to get no answers and lots of attitude on the matter. They were going through a management transition (which no one told me or anyone else in the apartment complexes until way later) and that was their excuse even though I had talked to many different people. I was out of my apartment for a month because they have zero communication skills. At first they refused to clean the carpets and wave my rent for the month (they were only going to give me back $ 200 out of the close to $ 700 they owed me for an uninhabitable living space) but I wrote an extensive email listing all of my tenants rights and laws and also every bit of information in the lease that made sense in this situation. It’s unsanitary for them not to clean the carpets after a major leakage because of the dirty water and also mold growth. My email got things moving and they finally gave me my money back once they realized I’m not an idiot. Finally by November I was back in my place. They were extremely rude to me and made me feel like this was my fault when it had nothing to do with me.
Every time I go in that office I feel uncomfortable and unwanted. They either give horrible attitudes or are excruciatingly fake.
DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE.

Never move here. EVER.
This complex and it’s staff have absolutely no idea who’s living in their complex, or when third party companies are coming in, and the staff has obviously never worked in the service industry ever.
My roommate and I worked with Taurus, who could not have been more clueless. The whole process leading up to our move in date was painfully slow and inefficient. My roommate called the electric company to get us set up the day before we moved in and the electric company informed her that there was a different tenant in this unit who was not canceling his electric. My roommate called Taurus and it turns out they had rented us an apartment that was never actually available. There was an eviction process going on with the person who was supposed to be moving out. We were never informed or warned about this. So we found out through the ELECTRIC company that we didn’t actually have a place to live the next day. I had to leave work early on a Friday to go in and make sure we had a unit to move into the next day. While we worked something out, the whole situation is still mind boggling.
A week after we moved in I got a call from one of the Leasing agents inquiring about the online application I had started. She wanted to know when I would like to come in and take a look at a unit. Neither this woman or the Complex had a clue I already lived there. She couldn’t remember my name on the phone to save her life. She called me Jennifer 4 times and I had to correct her 4 times. My name sounds nothing like Jennifer.
That same day I got a call asking if I wanted to take a look at some units, I walked into my apartment and there were air quality testers hanging on the wall! I was NEVER informed that ANYONE would need or already HAVE access to not only my building, but my apartment. What if I had been in the shower to come out and find a strange man hanging something on my wall?! I’ve been attempting to contact the manager or assistant manager and she is refusing to call me back. So I’ll just have to go to her office and demand to speak with her in person.
I will be reporting this company to the BBB. Do not move here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Like other reviewers have said, they are nice to you at first just to get you to move in. Once you’re moved in, they are the worst management company ever. They give you attitude and yell at you for every question you have. They try to charge you for EVERYTHIG! They even try to blame you for damages that occurred in the unit prior to moving in.
Their turnover rate on employees are so high. Every time I go in there, the previous people that I’ve worked with are no longer there. Save your money and time and go somewhere else.
I wouldn’t even give this place one star.

The Addison of Naperville is a heartless, cruel company. My friend has lived there for over five years, been a model tenant, and never was late on her rent. She was recently diagnosed with cancer. She can’t work and is receiving treatment, so she had to move out on a hardship. Not only was the office staff immediately rude and uncaring to her when she told them, but she received no response to a letter she sent explaining her situation, except for a BILL for $ 2000. Anyone thinking that a management company like Addison would be reasonable and allow people in the most dire of situations a little bit of compassion would be sadly mistaken. Don’t support this kind of company! Don’t rent from them!

The apartment are now called The Addison of Naperville.
The remodeled apartments are ok. The staff is great while you are moving in but be careful when you move out! They try to charge you for everything, things that don’t even apply. When you mail them the final payment they turn around and tack on more charges and expect you to just pay them without any information about them. After paying my final payment they found an additional $ 1,000 to charge me for. When I would call to get information to understand these charges the girl in the office whom I had to speak to about it, Raquel, was extremely rude and did not have the customer service skills or knowledge to explain. I managed apartments for years and she could not explain it to me without getting loud, rude and nasty. I am back in the area and looking to rent an apartment with several other people that I work with needing apartments also and we WILL NOT be going back to The Addison of Naperville.

I lived in this apartment «bloc» for about two years. It feel like a communist compound because almost every building on Fairway Dr is operated by Country Lakes. It all looks the same and they rule with somewhat of an iron fist.
Location — If you don’t mind living in Naperville, the location is decent. You can easily get to 59 and hit up shops on that strip. The only problem is that the choices aren’t always the best. The nearest grocery stores were Meijer (hate) and SuperTarget (not too shabby). The actual area of Country Lakes isn’t bad. The buildings wind along the golf course, so you get some beautiful views. It only took a few minutes to get onto 88, which leads to 290 and into the city. I hate the cliché that there is nothing in the burbs, but Naperville really isn’t the place for a 20-​something with no immediate plans for a family. And good luck trying to get to an airport without driving yourself, having someone take you or calling a taxi.
Price — The actual price of the apartments wasn’t bad. It started out around $ 850 for a two-​bedroom. They raised the price last year and it hurt a little, but it wasn’t ridiculous. They offered some discounts for renewing your contract for longer periods of time. I think it stayed just under $ 1,000 for that unit. It’s comparable to other buildings.
Payment — They have a drop box for checks or you could pay in the office; however, their auto-​pay system was horrendous. If you ever had a check bounce or something went wrong with the system then they never let you renew auto-​pay. I understand, they are making sure they get their money; I just never liked that you couldn’t apply for auto-​pay again.
Maintenance — This was decent and typically timely. We had a few issues with leaking that were taken care of almost immediately. Our two biggest concerns were with the never-​ending silverfish and the in-​unit washer and dryers. I was so thankful for these, but they were very crappy when we moved in. The washer wouldn’t spin all of the water out and it came off track. The dryer had a problem where it would overheat and refuse to turn back on for anywhere from 30 – 60 minutes. At the end of its life it made a terrible stink. They tried to fix it a bunch of times, which was appreciated; however, we continued to have problems up until the last month of renting. That’s when they finally put in newer machines.
Fitness Center — I never used the pool. I used the workout machines and they were OK. The center was pretty clean but they continuously ran out of wipes to clean off the equipment. It was open 24-​hours but often dark in the area. There was even an incident where a woman was attacked one evening and tenants weren’t notified until almost 3 days later. I had brought the dog with me to the building once and then we were told animals weren’t allowed in there. I stopped using it after 10pm because I didn’t feel safe enough if I couldn’t bring my dog when I was alone.
Parking — This was never an issue at our end. We always had a surplus of spots, but then we started getting notices that guests needed to hang permits in their windows. It became a hassle and we’d have to figure out how to accommodate when people came over with multiple cars. They started some type of «elite parking» permits. You could pay extra to reserve a spot near your building. Anything to make some extra money, I guess.
Animals — They allow animals, but you’ll have to pay. This is where the price of living here started to take its toll. Rent was high enough as it was and I understand a pet deposit (refundable or non). They have to protect themselves. My problem was that their pet deposit was $ 350 and then you had to pay a $ 40 – 50 monthly fee to keep your pet. By all means, take a deposit to account for damages and charge a tenant if they break something. Do not force people to have to continue to pay for their animals to be there. And if you do, the least you could do is send out a crew to pick up after people who didn’t pick up after their own dogs.
We had a neighbor who would complain about our dog playing in the back area. This was the same neighbor who would feed coyotes that came around. My other problem with their animal policy is that it prohibits a number of dog breeds from living there. Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and Chow-​Chows were a few of the banned breeds. Their official stance was something along the lines of «certain breeds are more suitable for apartment living.» We had a few people in the area who had an English Mastiff and a St. Bernard. They were lovely dogs and never caused any trouble, but I thought it hilarious that Country Lakes Apartments felt 50 – 90 lbs dogs were less suitable for their apartments than small horses.
I’ve lived in worse apartments. It was nice here most of the time. The little things just added up enough to make it somewhat annoying, but it would be perfect if you don’t plan to have pets, love nature and a slower way of life. It’s reasonably safe and affordable.

Do not fall into the BS «newly renovated apartments and pay more» they have so many problems! Raquel the dark haired woman is rude, condescending, and demeaning. DO NOT MOVE HERE, I cannot wait to leave, it looks nice when they show it to you, but it is not the nice quiet place your hoping for. We moved here got a smaller place and paid more hoping for this.
1) Some of their staff is ridiculously rude, not like maintenance, but their actual business staff! No people skills what so ever, rude, condescending and treat you like your trash.
2) Parking costs you money, thus there should be enough of it right? They claim visitors need a parking sticker or visitor tag to park in the lot or get towed but it is total BS. I know because friends have stayed over multiple times and forgot to put anything on their cars. It is annoying because if you work late, you may need to park 4 – 6 buildings away from your actual apartment.
3) Fitness area is poorly maintained, treadmill wont have oil or randomly stops working, mens bathroom wont have soap or towel to dry your hands with for days sometimes.
4) Maintenance is very basic, and you may need to ask multiple times to have things actually fixed, if they get fixed at all. For example we moved into a «upgraded apartment» with new stuff. Our first day there, there is no hot water for a shower! I ask nicely for it to be fixed around 10 am by afternoon so I can shower before I have a dinner meeting for work. They claim they came in an fixed it but did a poor job of seeing if it worked. I then made an angry call demanding it be fixed ASAP, and they said they were busy and would not get to it tomorrow. Yeah, can you imagine taking ice cold showers for your first two days? Until I got extremely upset they didn’t get it done that evening. I’ve also asked multiple times for things to be fixed, but somewhere it falls through the cracks. Also our porch area is flooding whenever it rains, complained because we cannot keep anything on porch because all the overflow comes there, plus it looks like the building is sinking and our porch is lower than the area around it resulting in the flooding. Or complained about their being no light at the front door to get into apartment, multiple times for a week to get it fixed.
5) Payment is a pain, you need to pay $ 25 every month to pay with a debit card.
6) Noisy as hell, people ringing your doorbell to get in, screaming outside or someone honking their horn at 11 pm non stop till you scream at them. Expect it once or twice a week in the middle of the night.

I lived there for 1 year. We lived on the 3^rd floor the electricity bill was sky high. A woman manager with dark hair at the office was so rude that I don’t want to deal with them any more. She almost shouted at me at no big deal. I really don’t know why she can’t deal with people a little bit nicer. Don’t expect any of your security deposit back. We paid extra ~$ 250 besides the security deposit. I will never go back again, and definitely won’t recommend it to anyone.
