History

Established in 2006.

Since 1991 Middlebrook Design/​Build has been involved in the design and remodeling of upscale residential projects throughout the western suburbs, with a few custom built homes added in the mix.

In 2006 we took our basement remodeling to another level by adding a drywall free finishing system. Our sister company, Beyond-​Basements, was then born.

In addition to our drywall free soft wall finishing system we now also offer an eco-​friendly waterproof finishing system. Both systems are seamless and mold/​mildew resistant, with the former being acoustical and removable and the later being waterproof. We can also combine the two for the best of both worlds.

And all with No high pressure, NO phony discounts, NO both parties being present during the «sales» presentation, blah, blah, blah.

Business Owner

David is the founder and president of Beyond-​Basements and Middlebrook Design/​Build.

Beginning in 1991, when only 25 years old, David bought a 6-​flat apartment building. Within two years he had 88 rental units and was also acting as a banker himself by reselling properties he had bought on contract sales. These simple apartment renovations led to small remodeling jobs, which led to medium remodeling jobs, which led to rehabs of single family houses.

After throwing in a few semi-​custom homes, David began doing high end remodeling work with a speciality of being able to deliver on any customer’s challenges and wishes.

This led to the development of his unique fabric wall drywall free finishing system. It is so superior to anything else in the U.S. that he offers a free basement remodeling challenge.

He now also offers an eco-​friendly, seamless, waterproof finishing system and a hybrid – which is a combination of the soft removable wall and the hard waterproof wall.
