I’ve never posted any reviews of any sort online previously, but needed to do so, to assist in my venting over a financially frustrating situation. I visited the doctor’s office in 2013 to ask about lipitor as my father has high cholestrol and lipitor has aided to control his levels. Before granting a prescription to me, the doctor’s PA wanted to check my cholestrol levels. She wrote a script for blood work for Edward’s hospital. I went through the lipitor in the spring/summer and needed a new prescription for refills. I saw the doctor in august and he wanted additional bloodwork done to check my improved cholestrol levels. Again I went to Edwards.(Doctor asked«is Edwards ok?» which I naively said yes to) I received bills from my insurance group(IMG which is affiliated with First Health) — the first visit to Edwards charged at $ 1,424.80! My insurance only covered $ 356.20 when repriced by them. The second visit charged $ 1,142.00, of which insurance only would cover $ 220. The hospital billing department claimed the high charges were due to «how the doctor coded the treatment requested». Apparently in both cases they analyzed more than just cholestrol. I feel that the doctor’s office did not sufficiently advise or discuss with me the potential finanicial & health risk/rewards of having comprehensive bloodworm done twice in 7 months at Edwards. I had 2VERY comprehensive physical exams performed in the past 4 years(including detailed bloodwork) and I am in excellent health. I have been unemployed this year and thus these charges are a huge sinkhole into my finances. None of my background or situation was discussed either visit before sending me for the comprehensive bloodwork. In total, in order to get lipitor(generic equiv.) prescribed from this doctors office it has cost me nearly $ 2,500 when you also note that 2 doctors visits were not fully covered by my insurance(last visit was $ 140 out of pocket).(That is separate topic that I need clarity from insurance company on). I chose this doctor as he had received praise on quality and knowledge of his work and I am sure that is the case. I just want to advise potential patients to have open dialog in terms of the right level of treatment for your situation. With many unknowns these days of what insurance will or wont cover, and highly charges from test centers like Edwards hospital(80% higher than what insurance companies claims is proper), please be careful. I feel like I have been bounced around between insurance, doctors office and test centers without any of them understanding what is logical level of care and charges. I have some(new) health related issues arise recently, that in past I would have gone to a doctor to review. But I have such a bad taste between Edwards, doctors office and first health/IMG that I am fearful to ever get near a doctors office again… and that’s a shame.

I have been seeing Dr. Cianci for over 10 years, dating back to Hobson medical. He has always had great bedside manner and has made correct diagnosis. I am never pressured to undergo any unnecessary testsor procedures, and he always takes time to fully explain any answers to questions I may have. Highly recommend him

Best doctor in Naperville. Seriously. I’ve been seeing Dr. Cianci since I was a little kid. My parents used to choose insurance based on what network he was in and now I do the same thing. I live in Chicago and I STILL go back to Naperville to see him. Wonderful bedside manner, great nursing staff, nice office, excellent referrals, and easy to get an appointment with… All around he’s the only doctor I ever go to!

I just love this doctor! I have been seeing Dr. Cianci for about 10 yrs. now. He is so down to earth and has a great bedside manner. He is not hard on the eyes either! ;-) He helped me through a really bad time in 2001 with Viral Meningitis and again in 2004 with Pseudo Tumor Cerebri. I am so grateful with his referrals and that he knew where to get me to recovery. If you want a very nice, American, well informed doc in Naperville– go see him, you won’t be sorry!
