Gorilla Games

On new years day I recently went in to check it out to see what kind of stuff they had since I’ve never been, saw some games that you can buy at 2^nd and Charles and Disc Reply for a lower price compared to them. What really did it for me was, I saw a couple of blue Xbox-​One controller face plate shells in a case. I asked the guy at the counter how much they were and he said «$ 25 installation,» and I nicely replied «well I can do it myself» he rudely replied with an exaggerated «okay,» I shrugged it off and asked him «well how much is just the face plate then» and again he replied «$ 25 installation.» That is when I knew I was not going to purchase anything from there and left.
Personally, this type of experience is why I continue to purchase 90% of video games and accessories on Amazon. (you can buy a face plate for half that price on amazon and not deal with rude people)
My intentions of this experience are to help with resolving the problems of this establishment. After all businesses are a reflection of their owners and staff.

Great little store. The cashier during my first visit was chatty and sweet, but she forgot to put the cartridge in the game box when I checked out. Went in a few days later to explain the situation, and the young man working promptly found the cartridge and gave it to me. No hassle involved and he was super nice about it. I will be taking my business here from now on.

I really like this place. They have a wide selection of games and consoles to choose from. It’s a nice change from GameStop and if your looking for old school games there more likely to have them. The service here has been great every time I’ve come. They go above and beyond to help you find the right game or give great suggestions on how to find what your looking for. I would be more than happy to keep coming here and giving them my business.

Came here today looking for the new The Last of Us and they were all out (should’ve called ahead). Luckily the people there were super friendly and Nick even called another local game store to ask if they had it. They had a used copy so Nick asked them to reserve it and priced out how much it would be and how much the game we were trading was worth. He could have made a «sale» by just allowing us to sell the game at his store but the other place had a better deal going on so he sacrificed to help us out. Nick is an awesome example of what excellent customer service looks like! We live 1 block from a GameStop but will go the extra few miles to come back to Gorilla Games for all of our gaming needs.

They brought my Wii back from the dead and did it quickly. Very helpful and very friendly. Explained all my options and let me know just what they were going to do. Thanks GG!

Decent place to find new and retro games, and play some in store if you want.
The games… I’ll skip all the modern games since every modern shop, big box store, and online store can tell you more than I can. I focus on the retro games in general (building up that collection of games I had to give up as a kid or had to rent). Though as a brick and mortar store, the prices are a bit higher than online may offer, but with the ability to confirm that the game works and check the condition first hand, I think it’s worth the slight mark-​up. Gorilla Games also has a membership which gives you 10% off retro stuff, which cuts down that mark-​up, and they occasionally do specials which brings the price down even further. Overall, I prefer to pick up retro games here in person, but the selection is based on what people bring in.
The storefront… located in a strip mall, you’ll have ample parking, and may face some traffic on 59. In store, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve come here several times and they’ve grown to understand what I’m looking for. They have four video game stations and they have tournaments (not my thing).
Overall… great place to find a few retro games, just visit from time to time to get what you need.
