Horrible horrible horrible! The lady is condescending and rude. Will never buy a single item from them. Shop at Binnys!!! Better prices better service!

Some nice premium wines available here and a decent selection of other wines. Also a goodcselection of chilled craft beers. Glad I finally stiopped in to check them out.

Been coming to Peterson on and off for the last 3 years. I drive out mostly for the great wine tastings they have and have bought many a bottle of wine from there as well. The staff is always very nice and knowledgeable and their wine selection fits almost any taste or budget. They also have a nice selection of craft beers (nice, but not great), but they need to work on their Scotch and Bourbon selection. They have all the high end, usual suspects but nothing that separates them from a typical liquor store.
Granted you could probably go to Binny’s and find what you need for a bit cheaper as far as beer and spirits. But when it comes to wines this is a great place to check out.

I was impressed by Peterson’s. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but on the inside it was a pretty big place. They have a wonderful variety of wines, liquors, and craft beers to choose from. Everything is very well organized and very clean. There are signs posted every where in the store to categorize everything (reds, whites, cab savs, pinots, etc) so there’s no way you couldn’t find what you are looking for.
The customer service is not outstanding, but that is based off only one experience I’ve had here. When I walked in the girl said hello, but I wish she would have told us something about the wine tasting they do. I noticed there was a bar, but she didn’t make an effort to talk to us about anything after she greeted us. Aside from wine, they also sell food, shirts, and other little knick knacks. All of it was pretty overpriced, but I guess that can be expected for a store like this in Naperville.

Peterson’s please note: Customer service and first impressions matter! I went to Peterson’s for a wine tasting a few weeks ago and I was not impressed with the staff there.
The selection of wine to taste was great. I think we tasted over 25 wines, red and white. Great. But, WHO HAS A WINE TASTING WITH OVER 25 wines and NO FOOD? Crackers, nuts, anything to kinda soak up the alcohol. A woman was lucky enough to have packed some cheerios for her kid earlier that day still in her purse so she was able to nibble on those. Ridiculous.
Okay not having food wasn’t my issue with Peterson’s though. When I arrived, I was NEVER greeted. When I asked about the tasting, the younger guy at the counter was nice after some prying. He asked if I had cash for the $ 5 fee. When he realized I didn’t, he CLEARLY didn’t like that. What was that about? Then, this woman behind the counter on the phone with a customer was soooooo focused on the call (whatever) that in the middle of the guy ringing me up, she jumps on his register/​computer without even acknowledging the fact that she RUDELY made me wait. Really?
I will never come back to this location. I shop at the Trader Joe’s often next door to Peterson’s. I’ll go to the one on Maple. They are much nicer. The two women I was with agreed. Both live near downtown Naperville and I am sure they will pass the word about the rude staff at this location. If you didn’t want to have a wine tasting why throw one?

I went to Peterson’s because they advertised that they now had Oskar Blues and were tasting those the beers. They had five or six beers to try but you could only sample three. Okay understand that policy but then I couldn’t purchase two of the beers because I don’t belong to their «Beer Club». I was told I would have to wait until next month to purchase those beers. Really, it’s beer not even a limited edition beer. So, I drove to Malloy’s and they were more than happy to sell me Oskar Blues.

I must confess, I know absolutely NOTHING about wine, but, I know how to shop. They are currently having a sale on select wines ~ buy one bottle at regular price and the second bottle is $ 1.
Who needs to know anything about wine? My husband wrote down what he wanted, the sales people were very helpful, and 3 cases later all is good.

Stopped by for a free wine tasting. Very educational and relaxing until my lady friend broke a tasting glass. Hey, at least it wasn’t a bottle. Bought a bottle of a nice Cab Sav. anyway. Why not 4 or 5 stars? While their craft beer selection was great, the prices were through the roof. Plus, the tasting samples were so small that I could hardly taste the wine.

They actually do a good job of selling more than just Wine. There’s a walk-​in cooler in the back for the beer and I’d say their selection of it is about comparable to an Armanetti’s rather than a Binny’s, which is still pretty good.
Pretty much, they carry every the usual macros and year round (not specialty releases) local, midwestern-​mainly, micros like Bell’s, Founders, Goose Island, & Two Brothers. They had Sierra Nevada Porters & Stout, which isn’t available in most stores. Then there’s a couple of shelf spaces reserved for craft/​import beer outside of the cooler.
All in all, I wouldn’t make a special trip here, but if you’re within a walking distance, its a go-​to store for your drinking needs.

Whoa Nelly, it’s been awhile since a review has been posted and what is a better way to catch up than with good old fashioned alcohol?
That’s what I thought too.
I am no wine enthusiast, now don’t get me wrong. I love nothing better than to sip a glass and enjoy the warm haze of a grapey beverage however choosing a bottle for a friend. This would definitely call for some assistance.
Enter the enforcer, and for this visit: Peterson Fine Wines. I had been to the downtown Naperville location which is much more petite and was impressed with the layout. This location has way more to choose from.
You are in need of wine don’t stress just make a trek out, holy moly there’s a lot going on in side and the staff will jump up to help you without anything but a smile. I was greeted immediately and with very little description of what I needed.
(Hi my name is Morgan and I really don’t know the different between a Shiraz or a Pinot Noir)
Anyhoo, the guy whom I absentmindendly forgot to get his name was fabulous. he educated me on the two types of wines and I ended up walking out with an unusual Shiraz blend from NZ. Double score.
All wrapped and ready to be gifted, many thanks for great service, affordable prices and a smooth sailing way of purchasing a super fine bottled beverage.

In the space that used to be Cabernet & Co. between Trader Joes and Oswalds, this purveyor of wines, spirits and craft beer really has it all.
I went in to inquire about gift certificates, and since I’d never been in before the girl behind the register kindly gave me the lay of the land. Along the wall wines are organized from lightest to heaviest, essentially. Then in the middle there are racks of well-​priced (under $ 10) and higher priced wines (it seems that these shouldn’t be on racks that are back to back, though everything is meticulously labeled; too easy for confusion all the same). Then you get into the different countries of origin. Against one wall is the «bargain basement,» of sorts, wines that were obtained at good deals so they can sell them for less; the salesgirl assured me that some good stuff turns up in here.
There’s a modest selection of liquor with a few interesting inclusions, but can’t beat the selection or price of a Binny’s.
And there’s a big craft beer cooler in the back, perfect for that beer geek in your life.
They do sell gift certificates as well as wine-​of-​the-​month memberships, and they have tastings and events as well.
Overall, a nice resource to have with knowledgable staff, in a convenient locale. I’ll say «Salut!» to Petersons and hope to stop in again soon.
