Silky Smooth Waxing Studio

Angel is literally an angel when it comes to waxing. I have moved all over the country, and every time I move, I’m sad that I have to find a new waxer, and then extremely disappointed when they don’t live up to Angel. Whenever I go home to Naperville, I try to get in to see her, but she’s so popular it’s hard to get in. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to the pricey salons and spas. Angel will do an amazing job, and is reasonably priced.

After trying many different places, I finally found Silky Smooth…& Angel! I’ve now been going to Angel for 4 years. She is by far the best waxer out there. Her studio is beautiful, cozy, & very clean. Not only are her services outstanding, she makes you feel very comfortable and I guarantee you will keep coming back. Everyone I’ve referred to Angel loves her!

I absolutely love Angel! She takes her time and really makes you feel comfortable. The new location is decorated to perfection. It makes you feel like royalty. If you haven’t already book your appointment!

She is fantastic. That’s all there is to it. She pays very close attention to your face and what shape of eyebrows would look best for you. She’s so sweet and funny too! :) I would highly recommend her.

This was my first bikini/​Brazilian wax ever. And after bouncing the idea around for a while I decided to do it. I was between Silky smooth and another waxing spot in Naperville called Aloha. I am so glad I went to see Angel! She was absolutely fantastic! She was thorough in her explanation of what she does and what to expect. She made me feel so comfortable from the minute I walked in. She was quick but did a great job. We talked the whole appointment and she moved quickly. She was understanding to my nervousness and really made me feel at ease! At the end of the appointment she went over post wax care instructions and gave me a big hug. What’s not to love?! She was great and I will definitely be back. Go see Angel, you won’t be sorry!

Angel does a great job waxing. My friend recommend her to me a while ago. I go to get a Brazilian wax. Angel is extremely nice and makes you feel very comfortable. The studio is small which makes it feel very private, which I like. It’s clean and if you have any questions Angel is very helpful. It’s also conveniently located and has private parking. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to get my waxing done.

I’ve never paid $ 18 for eyebrow waxing before and I will NEVER pay less than $ 18 again because I’m a lifelong customer of Angel’s.
Follow Lois’s directions, OR text Angel and she will send you a detailed map and directions. It’s so convenient that you can text her. I’ll be honest, at first I walked in and didn’t know what to do. All the doors were shut so I just sat and waited until my appointment time. Angel came out and welcomed me inside. Now, I never know what to think of other reviews but Angel is just as amazing as these reviews make her sound. Or even better. We chatted the entire time, even shared pictures from the Amalfi coast. She is so friendly and makes you feel right at home from the first meeting!
As for my eyebrows, this isn’t your run of the mill brow job. She waxed, tweezed, trimmed, lotioned, etc. This was above and beyond the typical wax job. Not one hair was left out. Angel is the Anastasia of Beverly Hills in Naperville.

I have been back regularly to Angel for my brows! They always look amazing and she is the best — so personable and friendly. She takes her time and makes you feel so comfortable. I am so glad I found her and would definitely recommend anyone looking for waxing services to give Angel a try.

*** FIRST TIMERS ALERT ***
Okay, everyone else has covered everything and gotten ROTD for it, so I will try to make your life simple.
1) DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT follow the directions posted in another person’s review, you will be heading away from this location if you do. If you are familiar with Naperville, this building is the front building of the building that used to house Koshgarian Carpet Cleaners. It is the second house south of North Street, across from the Dupage Children’s Museum. So, if you are heading north on Washington, there is a side drive you can turn into that will take you to the back parking. If you are heading south on Washington, you can turn left onto School Street (it is a stop light) then turn LEFT at Center Street so you are heading north and then left onto North Street. Turn into the drive area just before you reach Washington Street.
2) Do not go to the front door. The doorbell is for the business on the second floor, it most likely will be locked, and knocking loudly does not summon a body. Enter at the back door which has a wooden staircase.
3) If you park in one of the spots behind the first house just south of North Street, you will be towed. Park behind either 226 or the house next door to it.
4) Texting gets a better response than calling the business and leaving a message.
5) All credit cards accepted.

Love this place! Jamie is awesome and answers any questions that I have and definitely makes me feel comfortable. I like how they have packages you can purchase for an entire year!!! Super clean and relaxing.
It’s an old house in downtown Naperville and it’s off a one way street meaning you’ll have turn on the street right before (or after depending on which direction you’re coming from) to get there. Oh yeah if you go on Saturdays the parking lot is packed bc of kids going to the school of rock which is in the same area so come early in order to get a parking spot!!!

This was my first time going here, but it won’t be my last! I was in the area for a visit and needed a last minute wax — the staff here was able to accommodate me with just a few hours notice — amazing! Jamie was awesome & was very personable. Waxes are not the most comfortable thing in the world, but she worked quickly and got everything off! If I’m ever in the Chicagoland area again and need a wax, I’ll definitely stop here!

This was my first Brazilian wax and Silky Smooth was recommended by a friend. I had my doubts about this place when I first saw it but I guess you should really never judge a book by its cover. I was worried about the pain and did feel awkward having someone besides my doctor and boyfriend so close to that area but Jamie was pretty awesome. It ended up not being as painful as I thought it would be and it wasn’t awkward at all. She explained the before and after care and answered all of my questions.(even the awkward ones) lol She was very quick and careful. She said the first time is usually the most painful so I’ll probably be back again in about 5 weeks to get another one.

I had my first Brazilian wax yesterday; really that was my first wax of any kind. I’ve never had my any part of my body wax. Since I read all of the 26 reviews and they rated Angel highly, I’d thought I’d give it a try.
Pros: EVERYTHING… her place is quiet, comfortable and intimate. Front the start she was VERY approachable and I didn’t feel uncomfortable showing all… She talks to you throughout the entire process which for me was about 30 mins. It’s a natural conversation; she makes you feel so comfortable. Of course there were parts that were uncomfortable (especially the middle), however once she takes off the wax paper, it only stings for about 2 seconds (she did numb the area before hand because she could tell how nervous I was).
I’m definitely going back! I’ve found my one and only Brazilian wax technician. She says she does about 15 a day… WHEW! She’s awesome I can see why!
CONS: parking… if you’re going south on Washington it’s best to turn left on school street, then turn right on the next street and turn left before the stop light to get parking in back of her building.

Angel is FANTASTIC. She made me feel at ease, made the process quick and painless, and was so wonderful to talk to. Couldn’t be happier. I will absolutely be going back!

No surprises here. Love this place & Angel. I’m not a regular, but it is my preferred place for waxing. She is a doll. And she has a magical touch. Waxing doesn’t hurt. Huh? What? Yes, it’s true. Well there might be a slight sting on bikini waxing, but for the most part, it is the least painful waxing I have ever had. She also has a cute quaint studio. If I was made of money, I would go to her for all my beauty needs.

Angel, oh Angel… you have saved me from my eyebrow rut. I was desperate to find someone who could make me fall in love with my eyebrows again after my old girl stopped waxing and her replacements weren’t fitting the bill. I ventured out to see Angel who is in a old Naperville house converted into the home of a massage place and the waxing studio. I did love that I could book my appointment on line. I talk a lot on the phone for my job so anytime I can avoid this step it is always a plus for me. When I got there, Angel was very welcoming and asked a lot of questions about what I wanted. She got down to business and chatted me up while performing her magic on my face. It didn’t take a long time, but not too short either. I loved my eyebrows the first day and now about a week after getting them done I still love them. Price is about right for the area. She does lots of other body parts too, but I think until I get brave enough I will stick with my eyebrows.

Wow. Angel is amazing!!! I am so glad i did my research on Unilocal and found her! Even though I have just had my first appointment with her today, I feel like I could talk to her about anything. That is definitely a quality you want in someone that is doing your brazilian wax! She made me feel super comfortable, did a fantastic job at both the brazilian and they eyebrow wax, and her space is super cute & cozy.
It’s awesome that she texts to set up appointments! So convenient! I made my appointment with her while sitting in a boring Anatomy & Physiology lecture. That’s pretty awesome. She was great at explaining what she was doing and making sure I was comfortable. I will HIGHLY recommend her!

I’ve been seeing Angel (who owns Silky Smooth) on and off and then on again since The Great Waxing of 2009 (see previous review for full story… and full monty). I took a small break in 2010 and had been going to another area waxer who had slightly cheaper Brazilians and brow waxes… but then one day I looked in the mirror at my brows, which I was getting done about every 2 – 3 weeks at the time.
**sidebar** I was getting them done that often not because I’m hairy, as I have a freakishly minimal amount of body hair to begin with, but because I like the way it feels on my Cro-​Magnon forehead and I have a freakish obsession with NOT having body hair. Like, I can’t fall asleep if there’s hair on my legs– I will get up in the middle of the night and shave that ish off. **end sidebar**
Anyway… where was I? Oh yeah– my brows! So I look in the mirror at my semi-​freshly stripped brows and realize that they aren’t really in any kind of shape anymore. I mean, at one point they were fine, but after such a consistent waxing schedule and that other waxing salon not offering any kind of shaping or tinting service, it was crystal clear that continuing with them would mean going through my normally very active life with a major case of the brow blahs.
With that, I decided to pony up the (not much) extra bucks to see if Silky Smooth could work some magic and fix my sad sitch. I made an appointment with Angel, who had remembered me from my last lone visit the previous year and placed no judgement on my skipping town and the seeing another waxer on reg.
**sidebar** I just have to say how much I appreciate the non-​guilt trip… like to an exponential value kind of appreciation. Nobody wants to be made to feel like they’re a delinquent when they’re trying to pamper themselves. Plus, Angel’s busy, and I’m sure needs my business to a degree, but for the quality of work I get from her vs other waxing salons, I’m really the one who needs her more. **end sidebar**
So, now 2 years have gone by and I’ve been exclusively seeing Angel the entire time. She’s been with with me through thick & thin, hair & bare, a break-​up & a few shake ups, a new job, and SO much more.
Last May I bought a waxing package from her for Brazillians. The package was $ 465 and it covers your brazillians for a year. And I know it might seem like a lot of money up front, but it saved me SOOO much time AND money in the long run and the best part was that it relieved the stress of having to evaluate whether I could ‘let it go another week’ to save on money, or to schedule around vacations, dates, or any kind of event where having a big brown beaver would be a noticable faux pas. It was nice that if I wanted to get the 12 new stray hairs that grew in waxed off 2 weeks after I was just there, I could do that and it wasn’t going to run my broke ass another $ 55 bucks.
My favorite thing about Angel, besides that I can schedule my appts via text (not having to talk on the phone = priceless), are the brows she bestows on me. She isn’t like other fly-​by-​night waxing places where it only takes them 4 minutes to have you in, out, and paid. Angel takes her time and is meticulous in shaping every hair to fit and frame your face and eyes. Don’t be surprised if the first time you go it takes around 40 minutes.
**side bar** I go big and get the brow tint every time, too. My body hair, in addition to being sparse, is clear. Seriously. Most of my body hair is this odd blonde/​grey see through color, and though it works for things like arm hair, looking like you have no brows is just creepy. I seriously look like a bug. So, Angel does that for me so I can go outside without make-​up on and not scare people… which is nice of her. **end sidebar**
In summation (getting formal), I know there are other highly regarded waxing spots in the area, but I choose to go to Angel because it’s worth the extra $ 5 (and then some) for her technique, patience, expertise and dedication to the art. Yes, I said ‘art’ when I was referring to act of ripping hair from my poozle, and if you can’t understand why, well, you’ve clearly never been to Angel.

I had an Angel watching over me – literally – really I did – the owner of this fantastic business is Angel!
This place was definitely off the beaten path – which is probably why I’ve passed it so many times not even knowing that it was there — it’s in a commercialized house just across from the Dupage Children’s Museum, near the metra station. Parking is in the back of the house.
I’ve had ladyscaping waxes before – and this was by far the most relaxing. Angel is very personable and makes you feel at ease for something that you know is just gonna hurt, even after popping a few advil. I was happy that she didn’t make me hold any yoga poses to get at the not so easy places. I like that she uses the electromagnetic wand light thingy after the waxing was completed — say no to ingrown hairs!
After discussing the other services she does – I was pointing out to her this one stubborn blackhead that I had and she was kind enough to relieve me of my painful irritation. I can’t wait to go back and get a facial — my stressed out face needs it!
Pricing was very reasonable. So happy to have found this place.
