Dr. Lisa M.

Business Owner

Dr. Lisa McIntyre graduated second in her class from the University of Illinois in 1999. She was a veterinary extern at the Anti-​Cruelty Society and worked at Blum Animal Hospital in Chicago before having twins and moving to Naperville with her husband Andrew. Since then, two dogs and another son have been added to the family. Dr. McIntyre feels fortunate to be able to enjoy a gratifying career as a small animal veterinarian as well as an active home life. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, internal medicine, behavioral health and geriatric health care. Personally, she enjoys reading, long-​distance running, gardening, traveling, and donating time serving on the Chicago Veterinary Medical’s Human-​Animal Bond Committee and assisting on the Pet Loss Support Helpline.

Dr. Lauri and Sarah came to my home last week to help me with my decision to end my feral cat’s life. Jack was completely feral for three of his eight years and befriended me first. Slowly I got him into my home. Unfortunately the good life with too much abundance of food caused him to develop diabetes and then neuropathy and his walking became very difficult for him. He trusted me and fortunately he only had about 30 seconds of «fear» before he was sedated and relaxed to be euthanized. I miss him very much but have comfort in knowing that he did not have to endure a crate, car ride, strange office – just peace. This was my best decision. Wonderful Dr. Lauri and Sarah – thank you.

They are amazing. They have helped us with end of life services two times now. They made it more comfortable for our pets to pass away at home surrounded by family instead of a cold medical like facility. And they truly care about you and your pets. We hope that when we are ready to get another pet we will use their services for a more happy visit.

We just put down our German Shepard on 4÷4÷15. The Vet came to the house and transported him away. Everything went smooth. No problems. I know my dog is in a better place. No more pain. Thank you Welcome Waggin!

Having three cats, it can be very difficult to get them to the vet. With Welcome Waggin there is no need to take them anywhere, the vet comes to us! Dr Lisa and her assistants are extremely personable with us as well as the cats.
Unfortunately, our first encounter was when we had to put down our eleven year old cat. We wanted him to be at home and not stressed like previous pets we have had. Dr Lisa came and gave her condolences before even meeting our Lucky. She was compassionate to us from the start, that’s what really matters and that is why we have stuck with Welcome Waggin since 2011!
