Uptown Soda Bread

We ordered 4 6″ loaves for a work event and Cynthia was amazing at working with us to make sure we got it in time.
The quality of the bread — phenomenal! Great hit. Will probably become a regular order.

When I had a chance to sample Uptown Soda Bread’s wares, oh my.
Most people have an image of soda bread in their head as a heavy, dense bread. I have no idea why. This stuff is light and nowhere near dense. The original is basic and good. I also tried some with cranberries. Mmmmm. Addictive, easily. I’m anxious to give the savory stuff a try sometime.
This is a very small operation, which makes it more impressive.

Big fan of Uptown Soda Bread Co. and since I became aware of them about 2 months ago, I have placed 2 orders (approx. 2 or 3 loafs per order). The bread was a big hit when people were over for dinner and I am about to place another order. I prefer the cheddar-​bacon flavor for dinners and chocolate chip flavor for mornings but have yet to try them all. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great tasting bread. Best of luck to the new business in my neighborhood.

Really, really good bread. And really, really good customer service, from delivery to keeping me informed.
In really hot weather, like we’re having now, I order it and pretty much live off the soda bread until it gets cool enough to cook or go out to eat.
I like the sweet breads, but just ordered cheddar chive. I have high expectations based on the cranberry walnut and raisin.

I used to think that if I was marooned on a desert island, and was only able to pick one food, that I’d pick Slim Jims, fried chicken, something like that.
Not anymore. I’d pick Uptown’s bacon and cheddar bread. I know I really like something when I think about hiding it from my spouse, or taking it with me to work. The first time I bought a big loaf, I brought it to work and shared with co-​workers… They ate it all in under two hours. But then I was left with only crumbs and a fleeting memory of paradise.
I got smarter the next time. I got two loaves, shared one, and kept the other one in «special» storage, meaning only I knew where it was.
Imagine…now imagine a really good soda bread. Now add generous amounts of bacon and cheddar cheese… You spread a little bit of butter on a slice. Munching. Am I crazy or is the sun a little bit brighter, are people’s smiles wider, heck am I even a little taller and I think some of my gray hair disappeared?
Good stuff indeed.
I like the chocolate chip one as well as the bacon and chive offering. But in the words of Highlander, there can only be one. And it has bacon in it.

Who knew that soda bread could taste sooo good?! If you are looking for a twist on the classic soda bread … THIS IS IT! From savory to sweet, they have it all. The Cheddar-​Bacon is one of my favorites and I’ll never pass up the chocolate chip or cranberry walnut. There’s a flavor for breakfast, lunch or dinner !! Handmade deliciousness!!!
