Specialties

Our students learn techniques and skills in the most effective martial arts. Our mixed martial arts students learn the arts of Brazilian jiu-​jitsu, wrestling, western boxing and our core striking of Muay Thai Boxing.

The synergistic blending of these fighting methods into one curriculium is the reason why some students drive up to 4 hours to come to practice every week.

We are not just a Jiu Jitsu school or a kickboxing gym.

History

Established in 1998.

Dion Riccardo started his training in 1984 at the AMAA where he studied under Anthony Pellegrino and earned his black belt in Joe Lewis’s Association of American Kickboxing. He then went on to become the head instructor and manager of the school before it closed in 1991.

Around 1985 he became a student of Ron Balicki. Ron accepted him as a private student and Dion learned Kali, Jun Fan Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, Silat and Shooto from him and went on to be the first certified instructor that Ron produced.

IN 1989 Dion was sponsored by Ron to earn his Instructor certification under Dan Inosanto in Kali/​Silat and Jun Fan. He was just 16 years old. Ron had took him on approx 104 seminar hours under Guru Dan’s Instruction and traveled across the Midwest following him with Ron.

IN the 90’s Dion trained with Paul Vunak, Rickson Gracie and Wellington Diaz. Much of his training then centered around the ground game. He also went out and trained with BJ Penn.

Manager

Adam «Karate» Grisko, born in Tinley Park. He is a 20 year veteran of multiple martial arts including ju-​jitsu, American kickboxing, JKD and other various styles which affiliate with MMA. Some of Mr. Grisco’s accomplishments are National champion in Shotokan karate and regional title holder. Mr. Grisko has fought all over the country. Mr. Grisko is a 2nd degree black belt under Master Dion Riccardo.

Mr. Grisko’s mission as school manager is to continue providing students with quality instruction in a safe and friendly environment.

I have been a member for the last 4 or 5 years, the place has changed my life, i have lost weight, met an amazing group of people, and changed where ive bwwn at mentally. The people in this gym are amazing, uplifting, and will not only help you to achive the physical goals you have set but will help you grow as a person as well. They offer 2 weeks free so do yourself a favor and take those 2 weeks. See how you like it and im sure youll be hooked. The kids program is fantastic as well. I have 2 nieces in it and the way they promote not just being good at martial arts but growing as good person. Absolutely amazing.

My son has attended classes at Victory Martial Arts for 2 years. He just turned 8. He love his Dojo away from his Dojo and he loves his instructors. I personally love the last 5 minutes of every class where the instructor sits the class down and teaches them about focus, respect and honor. The facility smells like a stenchy sweat and I love it! It’s the smell of hard work and character! I’d recommend this facility to anyone!

This is a very welcoming group of people where the instructors are fully engaged in their students goals. Whatever it might be weight loss to know martial arts or to compete even become an instructor themselves. They have a variety of classes that include the adult MMA womens kick boxing and a grappling class and they are all great, Ive learned so much not just how to defend myself but how be a upstanding individual. Everyone is so helpful and encouraging too! The kids classes are something special, they dont just teach martial arts but they make a focus to talk to the kids and help them might right decisions in life. I strongly recommend everyone to try it out because Victory Martial Arts in Naperville is where its at.

I researched several martial arts dojos, particularly from a children’s perspective since two of my kids (8 and 5 years old) wanted to learn self-​defense techniques. Victory Martial Arts stood out as the leading dojo. They have a unique way of integrating the time-​honored traditions of respect, self-​discipline, and confidence, with the relevant combat techniques of MMA, best suited for modern-​day defense situations. My children love going to class, are eager to practice at home, and embrace the «mat chats» at the end of each class, which focus on being a better person.
Having full confidence that my kids were in good hands, we decided to make it a family affair. My wife and I also train at the dojo and the adult classes are phenomenal. They are suitable for adults (male and female) at different age/​skill/​fitness/​goal levels. As a 39 year old male with limited experience in combat sports, I was a little intimidated my first day. That feeling dissipated within minutes. Everyone is helpful, welcoming, and there are no egos. For those with a strong competitive spirit, a competition team is available for advanced training. For women who are a little apprehensive, you will find comfort in the female only kickboxing class.
I encourage you to utilize their 2-​week free trial period. You will not be disappointed. They also offer affordable family rates, although you will quickly become a «grappling dummy» to your kids.

Victory is a great facility to train at whether you wish to compete or just desire to learn self defense. No one is considered a «training dummy» and everyone is respected. The classes allow for one to go out their own pace, so there is no need to feel intimidated or pressured.

I started observing classes in July if 2012, with no intention of ever taking classes myself. I have gotten close with so many people there over the last several months. The atmosphere at Victory Martial Arts in Naperville, is so loving and inviting, that I couldn’t help but feel that I was part of a family. I started taking classes a couple month ago and I am loving it!!! I was never much for physical activity, but this is so much more fun than it looks! And the kids Martial Arts classes are the best too!

I’ve only been there for less than 2 months and already I can honestly say it’s changed my life. It’s rare to find a place where it can change your mind, body, and spirit all at once. (You’re lucky if you even get one of the three.) Victory has done that. I was going through a hard time when I started and they welcomed me with open arms and no judgement. At Victory Martial Arts in Naperville you can tell that the teachers are genuinely invested in you – the instructors actually care. That made a big difference for me when selecting an MMA school. The culture in this dojo is very special. You can describe it as a family, but it is more than that. What is special about Victory is that its students are not only there to learn, but also to contribute to the success of others. I have been training consistently for 5 months at Victory alongside fighters experienced in the cage and other novices like myself. I feel I have quickly improved in strength, body composition, skill and flexibility. These improvements are a testament not only to the high quality of instruction, but also to the culture and fellow students I train along side with. I could not keep this experience to myself – I signed up my 6 year boy in the kids MMA class (I am looking forward to enrolling my other boy when he becomes old enough). The kids MMA class is more than learning mixed martial arts – it is also about learning to become better people. The instructors keep each child engaged throughout the class. Learning to ‘focus’ is key; something that I found lacking in the kids programs at other local Karate and Tae Kwon Do schools. Victory Martial Arts in Naperville has changed my son and my life. When we first came for the 2 week trial I really did not know what to expect. But we were warmly welcomed by the awesome Victory Family. We have now been going for 4 months. I started training about 2 months ago and I love it. I have lost 20lbs and am in much better shape. Martial Arts is not just a great body work out but it feeds your mind and your soul.

Training at Victory for the last few months has been an life changing experience. The first thing a new student feels coming in is the positive and open atmosphere. You soon forget that they are strangers and move from teammates to family. The instructors are amazing, they are so passionate not only with teaching martial arts but with our tribulations in life. The coaching staff is highly experienced and caring for every student. The Kids class on Mondays looks amazing and I have recommended it for friends and neighbors they have a great time with a fun workout and martial discipline. I have tried a lot if fitness programs and been to a lot of gyms, but nothing has put my body to the test and made me feel as good as Victory MMA and no gym has felt more like home! The atmosphere here promotes hard work and excellence. From the instructors to the fellow gym members, everybody here motivates each other and pushes one another to do their very best. I have been a Victory member for a few months and I can honestly say that becoming a member here at Victory has changed my life in this short period of time. I have always been actively working out (Wrestled in High School and College, and was in the military for a total of 6 years). Without a doubt, Victory MMA is the best training facility in the Chicagoland area. I highly recommend Victory MMA to anyone up for a challenge.

I enrolled my 7 year old in the Naperville kids class about 3 months ago. The class meets on Monday’s and Saturdays. He absolutely loves it. Not only is he learning all different Mixed Martial Arts techniques but also how to be a respectful and disciplined young man. The instructors are so good with the kids and make it fun for them. After observing him in all of his classes, I became inspired and have now enrolled myself in the adult class. I have attended two classes already and plan on continuing as long as I’m physically able. It is an unbelievable workout and I’m learning various MMA techiniques as well. I was a little apprehensive in my first class but the instructors and other students created such a comfortable environment for me. The students never seemed to mind lending you a hand in teaching you things you may not understand or missed. The Dojo has plenty of space and easy to work in. The cost is also really affordable. I am so impressed with and think I am hooked on Victory Mixed Martial Arts and invite you all to try it out. Whether you are an experienced MMA fighter or a novice, there is a home for you there.

This is really an amazing place! I have been training at this gym for a few years now and they really have something special here. Everyone there treats you like family. I have seen a ton of people come into the gym and go from being really intimidated to being another member of the Victory family. On top of this comfortable feel there is a team of knowledgeable instructors. Also, if you’re looking to compete there are great fighters as well. Whether you want to train one day a week or compete in the cage, this is the place to be!

new location in naperville is nice. the coaching staff is awesome and energetic. they challenge you. they welcome new people. kickboxing and mixed martial arts can be intimidating to begin. they make you feel comfy and feel like u fit right in. as a girl i thought the coed class would be rough but i really enjoyed myself. everyone is equal here and no one judges. its a great place to work hard and better yourself at your own pace.
