L’Auberge

The food is fantastic! I loved the duck and the wine selection was wide enough to satisfy every one. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the service was a bit slow; however, this wasn’t for a lack of trying. The staff was constantly working to take care of their tables. Unfortunately they simply seemed to down a server or two that evening. Will definitely go back.

Oh my. Talk about a neiborhood french resteraunt. So delish. And wonderful people there. You are treated as family! I will keep going and going. Wait till you try chef special deserts! Enjoy

Amazing Amazing Amazing… everything is above and beyond… Must try the duck, the Salmon and All the Soufflé… Don’t miss this restaurant if you are in Naples for season… but call for reservations… a must do!!!

My mother Suzanne told me to get the duck and boy was she right. Best duck I have ever had. Wow.
Also I highly recommend the flan for desert.
Make sure you order it when you order the main course because it takes along time to make and you have to order ahead of time.

The owners are friendly and the French food is delicious– It’s a hidden gem. Even though this is a great place for a date, we took our son there and the chef and his wife were very sweet and accommodating. I had the escargot and a shrimp and scallop special in a light cream sauce. The cream brûlée was divine!

Small cozy French Resturant out of the way but worth the extra effort to find and enjoy the real taste of French Cooking. The roasted duck was perfectly crispy. The mussels were to die for, the escargot was out of this world. We had a wonderful Nite with perfect service. This is a real find, authentic, charming good food and the French bread was served warm, perfect and homemade.

My husband and I dined here tonight with another couple. I give this restaurant three stars for a few reasons. First, I asked if I couldvget quiche which was only on the lunch menu. Our server said quiche is available only at lunch time. Second, I asked to get French Onion Soup instead of the house soup which was part of the twilight menu pre-​fixe dinner special for $ 18.50. I was advised that I could get the three course twilight pre-​fixe meal for $ 26.50 which would include the French Onion Soup. So I did. The French Onion soup was bland, very watery. My entrée was Beef Bourignon. It included mashed potatoes and broccoli and carrots. Beef was very tender and tasty. Mashed potatoes had an odd taste, maybe ginger. My dessert of peach melba was very tasty.
The ambiance was not very enticing. The restaurant became very loud as more and more pastries arrived; it became hard to hear across the table.
On a positive note, every table was taken by 7pm. The restaurant just opened in July so not sure if patrons were recurring customers or first timers due to newness of restaurant.

It’s very nice to have a French bistro close by. I tried L’Auberge for lunch, and enjoyed the croissant with melted brie, accompanied by spring greens with garnish and a hint of vinaigrette. I asked for music since the place was dead cold silent, except for the forgettable conversation from two adjacent tables. The chef was all smiles as he turned on the streaming French radio station at an acceptable, low volume.
It seemed a little sad, but I ordered the individually sized galette des rois. It was flakey & delicious, and held a ceramic chef at its center. I recalled sweet memories of sharing a large Epiphany cake in Paris with friends who practiced the old traditions, laughing all the way. The youngster with us got under the table and called out to his aunt with the name of who would get the next piece of cake. Then everyone dug in to their slice to see who got the Baby Jesus, baked somewhere inside the cake. Big applause went to that person. Le Roi would bring a lot of luck in the following year to whomever had the good fortune of getting the tiny baby.

I am a regular, long-​time visitor to Naples, so when this restaurant came to our attention we decided to try it since it near where we stay. We enjoyed it so much we returned later in the week. What a lovely gem this place is, tucked in a strip mall. It is small and the décor is a bit plain, but seems authentic with lace curtains on the front windows and white tablecloths. It’s owned by a french chef and his american wife. His cooking is very traditional, but lightened up, due to the influence of his wife. I started with an appetizer of mussels, which were awesome. There are at least ten broths to choose from. My husband had escargot, which were excellent, not too heavy on the garlic. I had salmon en papillote, very simple, and my husband had the duck, another excellent dish, not too rich. For dessert, he tried the crêpe and I had the chocolate mousse, both very good. I highly recommend the mousse.
The chef has a very deft touch in his cooking. We also sampled french onion soup, lentil soup, osso bucco and fish with citrus sauce, all excellent. The house salad is yummy and even the simple baguette slices served with the meal are tasty.
The owners are very friendly and the chef circulates the dining room chatting with guests. His wife oversees the dining room, helping with service, attending to everyone’s needs. The wine list is quite good and they had a couple of special selections that are a great bargain. We had an inexpensive rose champagne that was really good.
I hope the word gets around about this place because it’s really fabulous and deserves to succeed.

I felt a bit uneasy when we walked in. This is a tiny restaurant in a strip mall, and its location was plain in the dining space. The qualms quickly receded when we were seated and helped by the attentive waitstaff; my husband and brother-​in-​law enjoyed cocktails, and we all savored our two bottles of wine. My husband and sister-​in-​law had filets, his with blue cheese sauce, hers with pepper sauce. I had red snapper with a white wine citrus sauce, rice, and spinach, my brother-​in-​law the roasted duck with citrus sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Dessert was delectable; for me a crêpe with almond caramel sauce, my sister-​in-​law a crème brûlée. The husbands, with admirable restraint, confined themselves to espressos. A memorable meal!
