History

Established in 2015.

Riptide is made up of three good friends, Bob Menzies, Scott Alexander and Norm Scherner.

First and foremost, we love beer, but more importantly, we like brewing beer even more. In the old days, we’d get together in our garages and brew small 10 to 20 gallon batches of beer. While that was a lot of fun, our wives didn’t always appreciate the hot water interruptions and other turmoil. Ultimately, we got the boot and had to find a new home for a hobby that was growing fast.

We found an old office warehouse in North Naples a few years ago and started brewing beer there. It turned into a sort of a man cave. That secret location (known to all our friends), has been the scene of some great gatherings for beer, food and music. As we enjoyed brewing and drinking our beer, we decided it would be even more fun to go big to share with all our friends. That’s how Riptide Brewing Company came to be born.
