Sunset Beach Bar

This reveiw is solely based on the location, right on the beach and the fact that they have designed the space to optimize seating for enjoyment of the beautiful sunsets. The prices dont bother me, thats what you can expect with a locale like this. The young lady bartender who made our drinks was a bit surly, one would expect a bartender anywhere, nevermind in a location like this to smile, and be a bit friendly and to apologize for any mistakes made. We had a great time watching the sun set and met some wonderful people doing the same. When it was time to leave our tab was not detailed, just a total of $ 35. Funny, as usually my husband does not usually question a tab, but wondered how 2 beers and a gin and tonic in plastic cups could total $ 35. when asked for the detail we saw that we were charged also for a $ 12 margarita.
So, not problem, brought this to the young lady’s attention and guess what?! «I didnt do that»…NO APOLOGY TO THE CUSTOMER THAT WAS OVERCHARGED. If my husband had not asked for the detail, we wouldnt have realized the error. As a former bartender myself who tips very well, and as a result of the way we were treated, i actually left no tip. never done that before. But felt compelled to make a statement, and told one of the other bartenders why there was no tip added. He was nice enough to apologize on her behalf. Wish he had waited on us instead. maybe we caught her on a bad day… who knows…

We only went for drinks, the sunset and world class people watching. 5 stars on all 3 accounts! We didn’t try any food but it looked like normal bar food from what we could tell. Great entertainment (live band) and service. Best part of our quick trip to Naples! Check it out!

By far the best value on the menu is the steak sandwich — it’s $ 20 and literally is a NY Strip steak on a 6 inch bun! It was cooked perfectly. Instead of fries I ordered fruit and it was a great serving and fresh tasting. In general the food is good but overpriced but again, it’s Naples so it’s expected.

The Sunset Beach Beach Bar is the beach side bar at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club. The food is the same at the Pool Pavilion. If you are spending the day at the hotel, these are the only choices for food besides HB’s the overpriced sit down restaurant. The food at both the pool and beach bars can be decent but overpriced as well.
At one meal I ordered a Florida Salad with Chicken and an iced tea. The price was $ 31 with tax and tip! The Florida Salad itself is fantastic: Baby lettuce, artichoke hearts, grape tomatoes, hearts of Palm, oranges, strawberries, and sunflower seeds in a champagne vinaigrette. The juxtaposition of sweet and tangy ingredients and the varying textures really worked. The vinaigrette was tasty but not too overpowering. At one meal, the chicken in the salad was tender and juicy. The next day it was dry and tasteless. Even when I got a new order it still tasted that way. My server graciously did not charge me for the entire salad!
The other items we ordered were very good and included the Buffalo Chicken Wrap ($ 17 + $ 2 extra for grilled chicken). To be fair the sandwiches are very big and can probably be shared by those with smaller appetites. 10 year old this and ate every bite (he does not have a small appetite!) Husband ordered the Grouper Sandwich ($ 19.5). The grouper was very fresh and tasty. Both sandwiches came with fries which were quite delicious.
The view from both the pool and beach bars can’t be beat. There is music at the beach bar at night. I just could not give this place a higher rating due to it’s prices. I have been to many resort bars and restaurants which typically have higher prices than normal, but these prices were way too much. Unfortunately, if you want to stay on the premises for lunch, there is no other choice!

May sound cliché, but perfect spot to watch the sunset while having a drink.
The only reason I’m not giving a high rating is the prices on drinks are ridiculous.
Paid $ 7 for a Corona in a can. I can buy a case of Corona for the price of 1 or 2 from this bar. Is it that good, NO

My wife suggested we go here for Fathers Day lunch she had the Asian Salmon Salad and that was great and I had the five thousand calorie grill cheese that had about ten pieces of bacon plus tomato. The main parts of the meals were excellent I could feel heart slowing down as I ate the grilled cheese the reason I didn’t rate the place better is both meals came with fries and they were nasty like most fries in this area they have some kind of coating on them that holds the grease and these were served cold. Fries are supposed to be plane old potatoes either fresh or frozen dropped in hot oil until cooked how can a restaurant serve bad ones? Has the chef never eaton one? The view is worth the price and be warned they allow smoking and because of the foreign clientele there was quite a bit of it going on.

Arrived for a late lunch/​drink on a beautiful Saturday. The place was packed but we were able to find two bar stools fairly quickly. The bartenders are very hard working and quick.
Drinks and food are priced on the higher end and the food menu is limited. With that being said there is still something for everyone. I got the chicken sandwich that came with lettuce, tomato, avocado and Monterey cheese on a roll. The roll was a little soggy so I ate the chicken with a fork and knife. The chicken was very good but the French fries were amazing. The speed at which the food came out was impressive. I could see the kitchen from the bar and they were a well oiled machine!
There was live music while we enjoyed our drinks and food. The views of the ocean and beach were fabulous. I really liked that they wrote down the sunset time for all to see. I have heard that this is the spot to be if you want to watch a sunset.
Staff and bartenders were all super friendly and fast. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I will go back again to watch the sunset!

We visited the Sunset Bar three times during our stay at the hotel. Watching a sunset from the seating area on the beachfront with a tropical drink is pretty fantastic. Drinks are pricey (about $ 12) and don’t be surprised if it arrives in a plastic cup. On two out of three visits, we had extremely slow service, to the point where we had to go find our waitress after waiting 30+ minutes. The food, live music and setting were great.

Great seats for sunset and great drinks. I recommend the clementine mojito.

One of my Louisville crew (Fast Eddie) was visiting on business and staying in the attached, retro-​licious hotel, The Naples Beach Resort, so I decided to drive over for and visit for a spell, as he would put it.
This bar is postcard appropriate and perfect for the vibe and energy of the hotel and surrounds. It is a tad overpriced, but someone has to pay for all that great service and the upkeep of the grounds and surrounds.
The service was immediate, and friendly, and efficient, and they raved about the family who owns the bar and hotel. So that bodes well for management.
The first time I visited the joint was back in the day when LB/​FB Steve Gorrie was running dudes over with the local Arena League team. Since then they covered the pool surface over and creating an eco-​friendly water retention system.
Great place all around, and if you are visiting Naples, this is probably right up there on the must visit list for the beachfront view if nothing else.
I’ve not tried the food.

BEST place to watch the sunset in Naples. Valet is validated if you show your receipt from the bar. My mom and I paid $ 22 w/​tip for a Mai Tai and a Pina Colada with the perfect view of a south florida sunset.
There was also a live acoustic guitar player playing Mumford and Sons and Bob Marley, win in my book. I would definitely return!

Great sunsets, crowded bar which makes for a slow service experience during peak times. Relax… you’re on vacation.

Waaaaaaay overpriced! Only reason I gave this place two star is because of the view and location. To give you an idea of how overpriced this place is… we ordered two appetizers, a chicken sandwich and 4 drinks and it was $ 100! The food was not fresh and definitely not worth the money. The view though was incredible but you can see if for free if you just go to the beach and bring your own food.

Expensive, but great location and good service. Sunsets are what you do here, definitely worth it.

Great view! Service was a little slow on a Friday but it was busy. The mojito was watery.

Medicore food, overpriced.
But beautiful views and good service.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the hotel overall, but the chicken Caesar salad was really eeh.
Truth be told, I think I would still do it again, and just stick to something with fries.
It is just convenient and pretty with a good vibe.

Overpriced drinks and okay food. Food was probably more decent than the drinks. Ate here twice during my stay, had a good salad and the chips and dip were also good. It does have a great view of the Gulf, but it doesn’t make up for the mediocre/​poor drinks.

Drinks = $ 12 each (Ouch!)
Bartenders = fighting about equally sharing duties in front of everyone (entertaining, I had my money on the old dude)
Booze of choice = the girls ordered everyone a round of banana somethings that were like an alcoholic’s milkshake, yum! and then me and the other guy there switched to lifeguard lemonades, which were strong and refreshing.
All in all, when you need booze on vacation (and who doesn’t?) this place was convenient and served its purpose!
