Go somewhere else.
The doctor I saw was so rude, unfriendly, rough and impatient it made me feel just as bad as my tooth pain did.
And then they never called with the cost of the work I needed done even after I followed up a couple of times asking for it.
This was one of the worst dental experiences I’ve ever had if not THE worst.
Please, go somewhere else.

It’s a ZERO STAR, they will tell you a price, make you pay higher, followed by another payment that your insurance didn’t pay :(

I went to the Smyrna office and had the best experience I have ever had in a professional medical office. Lindsey was the perfect assistant to Dr. Latham. I would not recommend getting a root canal but if you have to, this is the place to go.
Everyone from reception to the follow up call was wonderful. Thank you for the great experience.

I’m only giving one star because I can’t give 0. Save yourself literally hundreds of dollars and go somewhere else! They will give you the run around and quote you a different, higher price every time you come into the office. They can’t even set timing expectations properly. They told me two hours for my husband’s procedure-​they took four. The first price they quoted us didn’t even include the nitrous! Obviously this needs to be included in the quote! THEN after lying to us and scamming us, they had the nerve to send us a bill claiming «insurance didn’t pay for everything like we thought.» They have a horrible reputation with other professionals around town for being over priced and deceitful. I found out too late. Do yourself a favor, go ANYWHERE else!

I would highly suggest this practice. The quality of the care is excellent. The facilities are state of the art and offer the newest technology to treat your teeth. All of the doctors are great. I know that doctors like Tom Heeren and Graham Locke do an amazing job and have the utmost care and compassion for the patients they treat. Not only are the amazing clinicians, but you will enjoy getting to know them as more than caring professionals but also as friends!

Like the other reviewer, I had such a wonderful experience at Apex. I was so scared of getting my first root canal that I had put it off for eight months! Finally, the pain in my tooth had worsened to the point that it was definitely root canal time. After a referral from my dentist, Apex fit me in same day, which I greatly appreciated. I may have been lucky, because my wait time was only 5 minutes. They started right away. The dental assistant explained everything to me clearly (the anatomy of a tooth, what a root canal does to the tooth, etc). Dr. Watts was prompt and competent. The laughing gas eased my nerves.
A tiny pinch of a shot was the only bit of pain I felt through the entire procedure. I will say that you should be sure you go to the bathroom before you sit in that chair! :) Everything took less than an hour. The laughing gas wears off very quickly after you stop breathing it, so no need to worry about the drive home.
I am so appreciative to all of the staff at Apex. I am no longer afraid of root canals!

Apparently an Endodontic office is a strange thing to review. Allow me to be the first.
Many people will never need a root canal. I hope you are one of them. If you, like me, are not so lucky maybe you should go to Apex.
Good Stuff First: The staff is wonderful. The doctors are professional and kind. The absolutely horrible anxiety of getting a root canal was made very much less so by the fabulous doctors and assistants at Apex. They were patient and calming when my nerves were getting the best of me and for this I am more appreciative than I can say.
Why the 3 stars?
If I could, I would give 3.5 stars. This is entirely due the the waiting time. I understand this place must have very few doctors (maybe only one?) and they are obviously very busy but I literally waited HOURS for both appointments. They do have emergency cases, as well.
I went in for the initial consultation one day at noon. I had an appointment, of course. It was 3pm before I even got into a room to be seen and have X-​rays done. I was not late for my appointment. It was just before 4pm by the time the doctor came in to put a piece of ice on my tooth and say «yep, you need a root canal.»
The day of my root canal, I waited at least an hour past my scheduled appointment in the waiting room then another hour after they numbed me up in the chair. Had I had a vicodin or xanax this may not have been as big of a deal, but since I was already anxious the waiting just seemed terrible as I worried about the novocain wearing off. If you’ve ever needed a root canal, you probably know tooth pain and can understand what someone poking at that tooth would make you worry.
I did have a small breakdown when it was time to get started and, like I said before, the doctor and assistants were incredibly patient, kind, and good-​humored about it. I can’t speak highly enough in this regard.
Basically, these guys are good, but be prepared to wait. Maybe that’s what you should expect to get the best treatment. Fair enough, I would just be wise enough to find some way of relaxing while you wait.
