After visiting many times in the past, we revisited this location for the first time in two years. In the past we had a very good experience. This visit was filled with problems. They didn’t allow a substitution for the vegetables that came with the ribs. One waitress was working eight tables at the same time, so once she brought our food, we did not see her again until she brought the check. The ribs were over cooked and had very little meat to them. They also tried to charge us with an extra salad bar, but luckily with some explanation we had the charge removed.

Overpriced. Only a few channels on the television come in. It looked like there was once a recreation area but nothing there now. Walls are super thin. Don’t park under the trees! Absolutely covered it in filth.

You can feel the love the new owners poured in to making the Brown County inn, great again. It is lovely food and bar are great. I hope anyone coming to brown county will give it a try!

Brand-new remodel under new ownership! Forget anything you knew about this place before today. They open at 8AM and close around midnight. You won’t find another establishment like it in Nashville. Everything in this building was remodeled including all of the drywall, paint, beds, swimming pool, etc. The dining room has really changed as they have exposed the timber frame roof and applied new lighting. The menu is amazing! They are really pushing the farm to table trend here. Whether you come here to stay, play, or just dine and drink, you will have a wonderful experience at my favorite place in all of Brown County.

If you are looking for comfort, this is not the place. The pillows have to be the originals from when the hotel opened years ago. The sheets are a step above sandpaper. The mattresses are way below average. Blankets paper thin. The coffee maker didn’t work. Had to get another and then the packaged creamer was expired. The room was $ 120 a night which is pretty pricey for what you get. Everything is old and outdated and should be a $ 65⁄75 hotel. Could not get connected to wifi. Bathroom plugs both cracked so nothing would stay plugged in unless I held it in place. Proximity to downtown is great and the staff are friendly and helpful which is the only reason I’m giving two stars.

We stay at the Brown County Inn at least a couple of times a year ! Like how you can walk into town. Enjoy the restaurant & especially the brunch buffet on Sunday. The Corn Crib Bar is a fun place too !

I have been coming here with my family since I can remember. My parents even came here on their honeymoon 33 years ago. Sadly, we will not be back. We spent the day shopping in beautiful Nashville and returned to the Inn to check-in around 3:30. The registration desk said your rooms are ready! They gave us our keys and off we went. After a long day of shopping we were looking forward to relaxing for a bit. Our room hadn’t been touched by housekeeping. The beds weren’t made, there were pop cans and trash still in the room. The previous guests towels were still in the tub. I immediately called the front desk. They apologized and said they would send someone right away. That I will give them kudos for! The housekeeping lady that came on at 3 couldn’t have been nicer. She was apologizing for something that was clearly not her fault. She said she was embarrassed and was over the moon trying to make us feel better. Big thumbs up to her! Some other issues… the wallpaper is coming off the walls in the rooms. It doesn’t look like they have vacummed the floors in the hallway or stairwells for a long time. My mom said for the price she paid for the rooms, she was very disappointed. We had planned on eating at the restaurant at the Inn, but decided against, afraid of what it might be like. Unfortunately we don’t think it will be open for much longer.

I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid, and It’s always been beautiful. I’ve always had delicious food, and fantastic service. This place is not fancy by any means, but if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay, they have a cute little bar, an indoor swimming pool that opens to the outdoors in the summer, and a beautiful scenic view in the back. there is also a volley ball quart, a playground, and a mini put put course. Not to mention the«Game Emporium» by the pool :) Will always love this place, wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Nashville.

I won’t be back here EVER!!! Anniversary trip and the wife found pubic hairs on the bed and floor right away when we got to our room. It had a terrible chemical odor and bad musty museum smell also. We left right away and went to the Comfort Inn down the road, very nice hotel and the trip and my evening plans were saved!!! the place has a strong chemical smell and is badly in need of updating. Moldy carpets with strong odor and dirty rooms. I paid then left with a full refund within 30 minutes of checking in. The front desk staff did not seem shocked and did not protest the refund. I will never return. They need to bulldoze this dump and build a good new clean hotel. It was empty which should have been the first clue.

Order the fried chicken. I wouldn’t get too adventurous with the ordering, but again I haven’t had too many other items. The biscuits and apple butter are really good, and every potato side I’ve had has been good. Decent salad bar too. Friendly waitress. Chicken was a large portion and hot, but the all white meat entrée was $ 17.95, which is a bit steep for fried chicken. But most other options in that town are also pricey. It’s not gourmet but I’d return.

I don’t know if I’d come here again. The food wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had but it also wasn’t that good. A few of the fried biscuits were not cooked thoroughly. The wings tasted frozen. The cod didn’t really taste like anything. The resort was practically deserted when we arrived save for one family and eventually a group of seniors. Service was friendly enough but nothing to write home about. Next time I think I’ll try one of the other restaurants in the area.

I will not return! If you are looking for southern hospitality then look some where else. When I arrived I parked my bike in the handicapped space because well I’m handicapped, no left leg, it’s hard for me to walk long distances. As I’m backing my bike up I get harassed by an employee here is how this hotel greeted me HEYGETOUTOFMYHANDICAPPEDSPACE! My wife says right away HE is handicapped! then this bitch says — I didn’t know handicapped people could ride bikes… REALLY… Ok so yeah this happens a lot people not seeing my plate and saying something, but never have I been insulted after they find out I am handicapped!.. Next —– The check-in: It seemed they really didn’t want to get me a chair for the bathroom, I had to ask a few time to have them check to see if they would get me a chair… I was then told there was a band playing and when I asked what kind of music I was told instrumental, I’m thinking great old 50’s music, come to find out the next night it was a great classic band and I missed out on the first night… The room: Opened the door and it smelled like Moldy Old People smell. The bathroom door will not close, guess is since the bathroom has no exhaust fan it has wrapped the door. The bed had no fitted sheets and you ended up sleeping on the bed mat after a few hours of sleep — gross! TV is a tube… No fridge… Had to do it old school ice in the sink. NOCOFFEE: on Saturday morning. baffled what kind of place is this!!! The first night they left a towel and wash rag to clean up my bike, that was awesome, but then second night nothing… Not a happy camper!

Average food at best. Salad bar was not well stocked. Breakfast was decent, average. Had chicken for dinner and it was over cooked. smells like an old musty basement.

Came here for dinner during a family reunion in Brown County. There was exactly one entrée on the menu that didn’t have meat on it, and practically everything was deep fried. Their draft beer list was atrocious, and their salad bar featured more pie than salad. Being short on options, we ordered the fried biscuits, which the waitress informed us come from a can. They earn one star for an attentive waitress who kept our water glasses full.

Had the Sunday breakfast buffet. The food was pretty good. Our server was friendly and very attentive, going out of her way to help us. The atmosphere was nice. We had a horrible experience for dinner the night before at Holy Cow, and our expectations for breakfast were pretty low, but we left wishing we had had dinner at this place.

Had dinner this evening. Had breakfast several years ago –thot it was pretty good. Was not impressed with dinner. Salad bar had only iceberg lettuce and a fair assortment of ingredients and dressings. Rolls must have been purchased at local IGA — could smell preservatives. My companion liked ample serving of catfish. My salmon was tasteless without honey-mustard sauce. How can you mess up salmon? Same price range as famous place up the street, but no comparison–

This place is sad. It is perfect if you’re looking for an ill-prepared 4 pm dinner from a can /freezer, at a premium price, with crappy service. If you’re looking for signs of actual life, either in your dining companions or in terms of your food’s freshness, good damn luck. Despite the«always fresh» notations on the menu, most of the menu is from frozen. They’re liars if they disagree. The cordon bleu is lower quality than the Schwanns man delivers. The pasta is damn near foul. The shrimp was cooked by the grocery store. The apps are from frozen. All of the potato sides are fudged(the hash browns are from frozen, the mashed aren’t fresh, the baked taste like they were reheated from last week). The salad bar doesn’t exactly involve a «recipe» aside from«deliver from deli,» nor does it involve more than three or four fresh items at a time(i.e. there’s iceberg lettuce mix, there’s tomato, there’s broccoli, and there is literally not another fresh veg on the bar) This place is damn near morbid, unless you’ve a love affair with premixed iceberg salad & goldfish. Given the quality, which is less than«Denny’s with a smile,» the prices are obscene. This place is AWFUL. And I’ve not even gotten started on the rooms…

Booked a two night package here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I could perhaps overlook the outdated décor, peeling wallpaper and threadbare carpet if it weren’t for the odor. As soon as we walked in to check in, we were greeted by a smell that was comparable to an old dingy bowling alley full of stale smoke. We were assured that we were in a nonsmoking room on a nonsmoking floor, so we went ahead and checked in. The hallways smelled horrible– smokey and musty. The room, to our surprise, did not smell bad when we arrived. However, after a couple hours, people in the rooms next door to ours began smoking. Our room began to smell as bad as the lobby. I called to complain, and the hotel management supposedly went and spoke with the guests who were smoking, but it did us no good because the damage was already done. We couldn’t stand it, so we packed up our stuff and left. The only reason I am giving this place two stars instead of one is because we were not charged anything for our time in the room. We left and went to the Comfort Inn down the street instead. Compared to Brown Co Inn, the Comfort Inn is a like a 5 star luxury resort! If you’re going to Nashville, unless your idea of a good time is living in an ashtray, I wouldn’t recommend the Brown Co Inn! PS — kicking myself for not reading the other Unilocalers’ reviews before I booked. What was I thinking?!(clearly, I wasn’t thinking at all… don’t repeat my mistake!)

I might go back and I might not!!! Stopped into the Corn Crib Lounge late Saturday after a day on the lake for some dinner. It was about 4:30 and we were told we could not order off the dinner menu because dinner did not start until 5. I was a bit disappointed since I wanted to try out the Prime Rib… settled for a sandwich and fries which was not what I really wanted. Having said that I am sure my opinion of the place was tainted right off the start. After all… dinner in Brown County on a Holiday weekend in an advertised«resort town» and you can’t start serving for another ½ hour… come on… take my order and make me wait a ½ hour… serve me up some drinks and ask about an appetizer or something… but do not tell me «I can’t.»…we were by the way the only customers in the place. A sign posted 6 feet above my head on a beam in the lounge said Wi-fi spot. This was pointed out by a more observant member of our crew than me… since I had just tried to get«on line» and I got a big«no access available»…so the wi — fi was not serving up either… maybe it didn’t start until 5:00 …I didn’t inquire until the waitress noticed I was putting away my electronic gadget and inquired — then said you should have told me I would have reset it. I appreciate that she was aware but by that time I no longer had the want or need for wi-fi.(shouldn’t someone make sure it is working besides the customer?) The food we did get was good — in all fairness to the cook. The menu(looked great for dinner) and I would like to go back again and try it out. The service was stellar… and the waitress added a nice touch by asking us all our first names since we were being billed separately and she then called us by our names throughout the meal. A nice touch and she got all 5 of them right!!! Atomosphere is so — so… not exactly«resort quality» but when the bill came I was more than pleased…

This place is so nasty. My husband and I went here in February because we got free gift certificates and we thought it sounded like a nice place to try. The food was of horrible quality, the bread was stale, and the service was horrible. I ordered chili because everything else on the menu scared me, and it was one of the saltiest creations I’ve ever tasted. The general odor in the dining room reminded me of an elementary school cafeteria mixed with vomit. This was on experience I wish I could forget, but the sad memories of the odor, sights, and service will remained ingrained in my mind for all eternity. Next time I’m in adorable Nashville, IN I will steer clear of this ridiculous place.
