History
Established in 2011.
E. T. Burk is named after Ernest Theophilus Burk. After arriving in Oklahoma with «four children and $ 10 in his pocket,» within a year he was running a successful dry goods store. He and his family then moved to Amarillo, TX in 1920 where he opened the Amarillo Furniture Mart. He treated his customers as friends, and made great effort to welcome all people of varying race, religion and social standing. E. T. Burk owner Chris Kletzien followed in his great great grandfather’s footsteps, opening the shop in 2011 in his honor.
