East Nashville Family Medicine

I came into their clinic with a separated shoulder. They prescribed me IB proufein and told me to go to a physical therapist. I had to go to the ER that night and get it put back into place. They totally misdiagnosed the injury and treated me like a deug seeker because I’m younger. This is the worst doctor’s office experience of my life

I mean this with absolutely no snark and with complete sincerity: having insurance is a blessing and my morning spent here reminded me of this fact. At the end of the day, I was charged $ 300 to be told to take Sudafed. I didn’t have to pay that (because, insurance) but if I had… wow.
As an urgent care clinic, I am grateful that ENFM is here. I think it serves a valuable need. I walked in and was greeted with kindness, the facility was clean and the check-​in process was fairly seamless. I arrived right as the clinic opened, yet I waited a bit longer than I might have expected. I assume it was to let everyone get situated. There were no doctors on site, so I was seen (at first) by a nurse practitioner. Again, pretty standard. I told her what I was experiencing and what might be the case. I was briefly examined and then given a treatment I didn’t need. The NP didn’t perform the procedure. That was farmed out to… I am not quite sure what this new person’s title was. Whatever is junior to the NP. In any event, I spent a good chunk of time on a Saturday morning to receive a procedure I didn’t need (and one that didn’t alleviate my symptoms/problems)and to be told, ultimately, to take Sudafed for a few days and to call in if things didn’t improve.
That cost $ 300.
It’s pretty shameful how difficult it is to see a doctor (in Nashville). Despite being a hub of the medical profession, getting appointments are something you have to plan many months in advance and woe be to you in you miss it for some reason. Urgent care fills a very serious hole and I am grateful it’s here. I am even more grateful for good health, good insurance and the ability to see my physicians of choice (even if it takes months to happen).

I’ve been here a few times now and have consistently impressed with the time, concern and personal touch that the nurse and Dr Mimi Gerber have shown.
Wait times have varied from 10 – 60 minutes. I will return again.

Do not go here! I’ve been six times (seven if you count the latest disaster) and here are my experiences. I’ve gone three times to get my depo provera shot. Which is prescribed by my gynecologist. Never had any issues. Pee in a cup, here’s your shot. In and out in 5 minutes. Once I went because I had a really bad sore throat, a fever and white sores on my tonsils. They did a strep test and a blood test and sent me home. I never saw the doctor. The nurse «diagnosed» me with an ulcer. After three days, my strep was so bad not only did I need antibiotics, but I also had to take narcotics just to curb the pain enough to drink water. They finally called me back and told me I did, in fact, have strep. I’d already been somewhere else. You know, just to keep from being hospitalized. Time number 2 that was not shot related was a horrible case of folliculitis. The nurse said she had never seen a case so bad and needed to look up on the internet how to treat it. Yep, Google to the rescue. After her web search, she sent me on my merry way with no antibiotics for a bacterial infection covering my entire body. I had to seek treatment from my dermatologist, who gave me both an antibiotic cream and an oral antibiotic. It still took a month to heal completely. So, cut to today where I sat for 30 MINUTES waiting to be seen, only to be told they couldn’t give me my shot because they aren’t my primary care physician. Um, they’ve never been my PCP, but apparently today it’s a problem. Oh, and by the way, today was the FIRST time I ever laid eyes on the doctor. Just for her to tell me she would not give me the shot. Not because there is a law but because they aren’t a «shot service». Let me reiterate-​DO NOT GO HERE!

Dr. Mimi and the whole gang at East NashvilleFamily Medicine could not have been more friendly or any kinder than they were to me. Mimi is the best doctor I have ever met and she is so kind, friendly, compassionate, and yet very serious and professional. I just can’t say enough good things about the place and it’s people. I never felt rushed and she took her time with me and put my mind at ease. Mimi called me at home at 7:15pm to check on me and make sure I was doing ok. Mimi is my favorite doctor without a doubt and I’m so glad we have her here in our neighborhood.

They worked me in in under an hour as a walk in. Courteous and quick front desk staff. I met with a very knowledgeable nurse practitioner «Mimi» who spent more time diagnosing and discussing my issue with me than any MD I’ve visited in the past 5 years. I plan on making this clinic my main office — also the walk in cost $ 90 vs. $ 120 or $ 150 at the other walk in clinics. Convenient location, plenty of parking.

Walk-​in, without insurance is $ 90/​office visit.
Without appt, you can sit anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour.
Getting in is the hard part, but once you’re put into a little room, waiting for the doctor, then it becomes easy. Once you’re in the little room… time goes by more quickly.
Give them history, let them check you out, give them the name of the pharmacy you work with and out you go…
Pleasant surroundings, lots of help, everyone answers your questions, simple enough if you’re not deathly ill… otherwise, they refer you to the emergency room of your favorite hospital.
Brother went in, they put him in the little room within 60 minutes. Got the job done. He needed a script. They told him to give them a call, at the end of the antibiotic run. Simple, efficient, easy to work with. Good to have simple, in the neighborhood. Would return.

East Nashville Family Medicine is one of the, if not the, greatest family practices I have ever experienced. They truly care about you and go so far above and beyond to make sure your health is taken care of. I can say without a doubt that I have found my life long practitioner.

I absolutely cannot say enough great things about East Nashville Family Medicine! I’ve used them both for their walk in services as well as for my yearly physical. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and both Dr Lewis and Mimi Gerber have been a joy to work with. It’s very much a place where they hear you and give you plenty of time to feel taken care of.
The fact that you can walk in all day long when you are sick is so helpful when your schedule is crazy and you don’t have the freedom to just take whatever appointment your doctor can fit you in for.

My SO finally decided to go to a doctor after some issues he’s been having for a while have affected his quality of life to a pretty good extent. He didn’t know who to go to and since East Nashville Family Medicine is where I plan to go, he went on in and got checked out.
The office is very clean and very… GREEN! The staff is also friendly and competent.
We saw Dr. Roz and she discussed everything patiently and answered all our questions. She was with us for at least 20 minutes which is pretty astounding; many doctors zip in and out in these kinds of situations. As a fellow medical professional, I was very impressed and highly recommend this clinic. Even the SO approves and may actually take better care of himself now that we have a good doctor in Nashville.
The med he agreed to take for one of his issues works like a charm; nothing relieved his headaches prior to Dr. Roz’s prescription… and they could last for days.
They also have an Urgent Care clinic which I hope not to have to use, but I’m glad it’s there. You will see the nurse practitioners if you go to Urgent Care.
Just be warned there are a couple of very delicious shops in the same complex so be prepared for temptation. We got cupcakes as a treat since he was such a good patient :-).

Honestly, I hate going to a doctor. I’m very much an ‘I can cure this with soup, hot water soaks, and hydrogen peroxide’ kind of gal. But, there are two things I don’t mess with: my lady parts, and fevers stemming from a primary infection.
When a blister of mine tore open, I cleaned it up and continued to run on it for two days (dum, I know), and lo and behold it became infected. As soon as I realized I had a fever, I Unilocaled the nearest walk in clinic, with the best reviews, leading right to Mimi! Yes, I had a semi ridiculous wait, but I was a walk-​in and knew that would happen. Once I was in the room, Mimi took one look at my foot and was all «you’re gonna need a shot to the booty.»
WUT.
I have a fear of needles. I am that person that stops breathing as soon as I see one. And you know what? Mimi held my hand. Not a lot of NPs do that, or at least not a lot of the ones I’ve encountered. That’s care for your patients, and I appreciate it, and it is the reason they get five stars. Long wait: bad. Good nurses: more than make up for it.
BONUS: they take my insurance so it was cheap as ballz

I have only seen Mimi, the nurse practitioner and she is amazing! She used to be an ER nurse so she’s seen everything and you can’t surprise her. She’s friendly, knowledgeable and thorough– exactly what you want when you aren’t feeling well.
The office is very convenient and they have local art on the wall.
The only downside is that it’s right next to Yeast Nashville so you might gain a little weight if you are sick often!
Go see them and feel better :)

They were so compassionate and cool. Reasonablely quick if you’re in a hurry but also thorough and careful.
Gave me a shot for immediate relief which I’ve never had. And also did a breathing treatment so I would be good for the rest of the day until I got my meds from the pharmacy.
They took my out of state insurance.
When the pharmacy they sent my stuff to was closed their phone service people and on call doctor (who was also wonderful) made sure to leave me messages insuring me that she had sent the prescription to the ²⁴⁄₇ pharmacy I found online. I left that message with their phone people and it went smoothly.
I’m breathing and working again and so grateful.

I usually wait to give a review but couldnt wait. I had a little fester that couldnt wait either! Was not in the best of places and extremely painful. I walked in screamed like hell and was not a happy camper. Despite all of that, i felt like i had his great family member taking care of me. Dr Mimi was worried, she held my hand, was so sweet and took care of me. I am definitely making them my primary doctor and when i feel better go in and her a big hug.

Finally! A doctor in the neighborhood. And so far I’ve been beyond pleased with the practice. Cheerful friendly atmosphere, good records system, prompt and courteous staff, the blood technician respects the needs of a needle-​phobe, and the doctor had a great manner. The do appointments and walk ins, so it’s perfect for all medical occasions! Well, not emergencies. But most medical occasions. Fantastic add to the hood.

This place is so nice and welcoming. There is local art on the wall for purchase and yummy coffee in the waiting area. Checking in and seeing the doctor is very quick. All of the staff are nice and caring. It is so nice to have a place near by to be able to pop in real quick and get the help I need. This is 100% our new family location.

When I woke up this morning I had three voicemails, all pertaining to a new prescription.
Just before the ENFM office closed last night, I called in to ask if Dr. Roz might send a prescription to CVS that we’d talked about me possibly getting set up with in the future.
By morning, (1) Trish from the office had called to let me know she called around to a bunch of pharmacies and all of them only had the 1% version of what I’d asked for. She said she’d go ahead and fill that and if I wanted to look around more for the 2% to give her a call back; (2) Kate from the office then called to re-​confirm that they’d sent the prescription in and give them a call if I needed anything else; and (3) CVS had called to say that the prescription was indeed ready for pickup.
This was just the latest in great care and service I’ve experienced in my short time going to ENFM. I highly recommend these good folks…

Fantastic, brightly colored, beautiful local art, I feel better just sitting in the waiting room, not like any other doctors office and then there is Dr Roz, a sweet and gentle person who will reassure you and ease any stress. What a great addition to East Nashville. Yes as good as it gets
