Do you need a good barber? Does your barber charge more than a case of bud light? If you answered yes to either of those, head to Golden Star. For $ 12 you’ll get a great haircut and good conversation. Have a sweet beard? Add another $ 5 for an impressive beard trimming and still be out the door for less than a case of bud light. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem that hasn’t raised prices in years. I took off one star because it’s not the nicest space in the world. Who cares though? I’ll take a good cheap haircut over a $ 40 haircut in some reclaimed wood hipster haven. Oh, and for $ 12 you might just get a little culture from the gentlemen working there.

I’ll point out to begin with this is on Nolensville Pike, not Nolensville Road(second time I’ve submitted this correction). If you’ve always called it Nolensville Road, look closer — it’s Pike: near Nashville, Road: further away from. This is why the barber shop appears on the map 2.2 miles south nearer Brentwood. Actual location is Nolensville Pike and Antioch Pike about six blocks south of Thomson Lane. In the complex that has the Osborn Buy Rite. Now, as for the barber — this is a barbershop, they appear to do kids and males but I can’t comment on the kids hairstyles. Place is cash only, but for $ 12 you can get a very nice looking haircut. I needed a trim for a job interview, I think they went above and beyond as weeks later my hair still looks good without any product, and if you’ve ever met me you’ll understand that for my hair to not look like something a cat coughed up is absurdly rare.
