This store is in a strip mall with a few other stores and is right next to a restaurant. My husband and I pulled into the parking area, which has a narrow drive, to go to the restaurant. A car started pulling out of a parking spot farther up, and we pulled into a spot in front of this Radio Shack to give them more room. After we got out of the car, an employee ran out of the Radio Shack and asked us to move our car – literally two spaces over – to be closer to the restaurant since we were not patronizing the Radio Shack. This was frankly a stupid request for such a small strip mall with many empty parking spaces, including another right in front of Radio Shack; but, my husband politely declined and correctly noted that there was no signage limiting where one can park in this shared strip mall lot. The employee then called my husband a rude name and stormed back into the store. Radio Shack is not-so-slowly dying, and employees like this who have nothing better to do than come out and yell at people in the parking lot are hastening that demise.

I’ve been in quite a few Radio Shacks in my day, and I have to say that I was thoroughly underwhelmed by my most recent experience. Sure, the prices on everything but the most simple components are astronomical(especially in the days of Amazon), but this location had a very poor selection of cellular accessories and was rather understaffed. In short, if you have to have something in your hands to make a purchase, you’d be better off going to Walmart for cellular accessories; they have Radio Shack beat on both price and selection. If you need a part for your HAM radio, this is still your place.
