Great selection, awful service. Owner is incredibly condescending. If you are not from Nashville, expect some level of criticism. As much as the influx of people to Nashville is likely helping her business, she’s more concerned with a snobby idea of what makes this city.

Been waiting outside for the store to re-​open for 15 minutes!
Wouldn’t be a big deal if I didn’t really need to buy a special gift in a hurry.

Beverly & Anna at Savant Vintage Couture were extremely helpful when it came to a recent photo shoot I was doing in Nashville. They selected beautiful dresses for me to wear & even opened up the shop on their day off! I’m pretty sure I can’t say enough about these two. But the clothes? A beautifully curated & thoughtfully arranged collection of delicious vintage!

Had I written this after first walking into the store I would have given it at least two more stars. The place, though small, is like a treasure chest or a museum of oddities and I was very happy to be walking around and looking at everything. However, when I started talking to a woman who might be the owner my opinion of the place became conflicted. I did my best to say hello and see how her day was going, then she brought up the weather to which I replied that it was new to me being that I just moved to Nashville from San Diego.
Without skipping a beat this woman goes into an almost muttering short monologue about how all the transplants have ruined the vibe here and how it’s time to start going elsewhere. I waited a beat, unsure of how to proceed, I wasn’t sure if she meant to insult me or if she was just going on. So I asked what it was about the culture that had shifted and she have some different points and I mentioned that one of the reasons I left Southern California was because I was looking for friendlier places and new experiences. She continued on her rant about the transplants killing the vibe dead in another year and so I asked where she wanted to go next.
Detroit.
I just wonder, how those in Detroit are going to feel about all these transplants taking over and killing their vibe. I also wonder if she is a Nashville native or if one day many years ago, she too was new.
I left the store feeling very confused though not offended. She was a living, breathing and insulting version of what she didn’t want Nashville to turn into. Or maybe she was just having a bad day.
Such a shame, the store itself is so awesome.

This is a whimsical second hand store. One would think you would find some great bargains or at the very least the staff would be interested in selling their merchandise. The opposite seems to be true. Sadly, it’s grossly overpriced.
A few days ago was my fourth visit. My first visit I found a few things I was interested in buying. I was given price quotes on all three. I called to organize purchasing a large and expensive item and suddenly it was no longer for sale. What? Bizarre. The second time I went back, I picked up another item I had been given a quote on, and suddenly it went up by $ 115 (in a matter of days). When I explained that wasn’t the price I had originally been told, the gal became very snarky and said «different day». What the hell? Am I back in Los Angeles, these folks are light years from friendly.
My recent visit, I notice all three items are still there. (it’s been months) I look at the price tag on one of the items (the one that went up by $ 115) and it had been marked UP an additional $ 50. Clearly they don’t want to sell it. I then proceeded to a smaller item and they had marked it UP another 50%. I offered cash for the original price and was once again met with a load of attitude and a snarky «no».
Instead of shopping there now, I like to pop in just to have a giggle that the used stuff just sits there.
At this point I would have spent over $ 2000. Instead, I’ve spent $ 0.

The owner has a killer eye for vintage and is focused on wearable and relevant styles people want to wear when they don’t want to look like an extra in a period movie. Was really happy to find it on my recent trip in to Nashville. Prices are a little on the high side for the better pieces but deals can be found. The most frustrating thing was that the best items are reserved for rental only. Owner was personable and friendly with an edge.

I went here to go prom dress shopping with my mom a while back and i tell you what, this place is down right amazing. SO MANY CUTE CLOTHES!!! It can be kind of pricy, depending on what you’re looking at, but nothing world shattering. The upstairs is especially cool. I tried on a lot of dresses but sadly none of them fit just right. I was stressed and very pressed for time but the owner and her employee were very patient with me. Anyone who thinks the owner is mean obviously doesn’t have a sense of humor; she’s pretty damn funny. I would definitely check this store out.

I actually loved this shop for a couple of years, a friend and I would go every week and have a look around. It was always fun and there was always new stuff to see. So why did I give Savant 1 star? easy. The owner is horrible! She doesn’t pay anything for consignment, lies about what she can get out of it, and insults customers. For example, she told me to not be surprised if she didn’t know me the next day, she doesn’t brother to remember anyone. Rude much? She was just insulting all around. The second reason I rank this shop so low are the prices… I saw a typewriter in her shop priced three or four times its $ 50 value… And someone will probably pay the inflated price. I will give the shop props for being very organized, having a large selection, and some FABULOUS pieces, however I won’t ever be shopping there again. And I know my friends won’t either.

First question the store owner asked us? How were we all related… um what? But it fit the kooky style of the store.
There is a really nice selection of clothing, housewares and furniture. The prices were pretty good for the selection especially in this fancying up neighborhood. The store is really full so take your time perusing. I wasn’t so into the clothes, but the accessories and the furniture were really fun.
Worth a peruse if you’re in the area. Might be a spot to avoid if you tend towards claustrophobic, but I’ve been in way tighter shops.

Out shopping with my mother on a casual Sunday looking for interesting and unique items. Nicely arranged store with fantastic vintage wares in great condition. Prices are high but I made the fatal antique/​vintage store assumption that she may interested in haggling (Did some one else mention she was?). I asked if the owner was interested in considering offers and she 1. Looked my mother and myself up and down 2. Asked where I worked and 3. Told us a story about a woman from New York that tried to haggle a $ 500 item down to $ 50 in her shop. After about five minutes of complaint about how many times she is asked to haggle in her 11 years of business, we left empty handed.
A simple «No, I am not interested. Please pay the marked price.» would have sufficed.
TL;DR: Don’t ask the owner if they are interested in haggling.

I love this place I like the vibe and the atmosphere… and also the music I am in this store every other fmFriday looking for some cool vintage stuff!

I loved going to Savant. It was fun to visit but the prices were a little high so I didn’t make any purchases. If you’re looking for good vintage clothes, it is a great place. There is a huge selection of everything you can think of. Lots of fun to visit!

I take issue with an establishment that doesn’t list its hours on a website, on Unilocal or even on its own stinkin’ front door! We attempted to visit Savant two times while in town only to be turned away during very normal business hours. While we were parked in front of the shop another couple had a similarly frustrating experience. I’m all for the laidback easygoing vintage shopping vibe, but really if you’re going to open a public place of business, you ought to welcome customers. I’m sure Savant has a fantastic selection but I have no idea what’s inside because I can’t seem to get in the door!

I like this place. They’ve got some really cool stuff, including old boots. Unfortunately, my feet are massive, and I couldn’t find any to fit, but that’s not their fault. Wish I’d had more money, because the selection was really awesome. The vintage dresses were especially tempting. As well as the jewelry above the checkout. This place is unique, and I would absolutely go back.

Massive selection of vintage stuff here. It can get a little pricey, so be prepared for that. The store itself looks pretty small from the outside, but appearances are definitely deceiving here. This place has two full floors of vintage wear from shoes to clothes and even some furniture.
The owner was really nice and welcoming. She knew a lot about scouting out vintage finds and had an awesome selection. This place definitely has a greater selection than Local Honey and other vintage stores I’ve been to around town.
I’d come back for sure, but only when my wallet was pretty full.

I’m not much of a vintage shopper, but I was curious to see if I found anything I liked. I caught sight of a really cute small, tan, real leather crossover purse for $ 38. I’d been looking for such a purse and with half off using the Scoutmob deal, I HAD to buy it! Neat little store if you are into vintage and willing to pay a little more for it (prices werent cheap).

horrible vintage shopping experience. Owner is absolutely atrocious, rude and pushy. I spent a good amount of money there and so I thought it would understandable to ask for a discount on one item because there were stains on it…2 dollars off. Are you fuc*ing kidding me? The prices are really absurd here as well, I manage a vintage store in a large city and you should never be that pretentious with your pricing. You don’t have to be an asshole just because you own a vintage shop, some people that come in are just as enthusiastic and knowledgeable and you should treat them in that manner. My friends (top sellers on etsy/​ebay and own their own successful stores) will never shop here after the horrible customer service and awful prices. Good vintage is not worth the attitude here. That old hag needs to get a reality check.

Okay, now, I AM skipping straight to the fourth star and handing it straight to Savant. I can easily say that this place is hands down one of my favorite vintage shops of all time, especially in Nashville. Of course, I do agree with the reviewers who say that it is a tad bit overpriced, but there really is something for everyone. Not only is this place stocked from floor to ceiling (literally) with the most unique and eclectic collection of décor, clothing, and accessories that I have ever seen, there seems to ALWAYS be new things coming in daily. The owner, her name unfortunately escapes me, is very nice, and very knowledgeable about every single piece in her shop and has always made sure that I felt right at home when in Savant.
All matters aside, I will continue to visit this unique gem of a vintage shop which just happens to be located in one of my favorite areas of Nashville.

Not to be dramatic but I actually struggled on how many stars to give Savant Vintage Couture. I kept leaning towards 2 stars due to the waaaaaaay overpriced cost of much of the inventory in stock ($ 255 for a white Frederick’s of Hollywood jumpsuit from the 70’s?) and the slightly abrasive and curt owner who felt it was necessary to advise my friend and I that her shop «carries REAL vintage» and not the kitsch that we are accustomed to. Oh, really? Thanks so much for that. I personally have no experience with Fashion nor do I have a closet full of vintage apparel and accessories. (hello, snark.)
However, I decided on 3 stars as I will give her credit for her amazing eye for beautiful vintage gems which stocked this house converted to boutique on 12 Avenue. I perused through the multiple rooms filled with sumptuous fabrics and unique relics. Much of it was in stellar condition and were pieces that I would have loved to add to my collection but the inflated prices prohibited that on this trip. I have to point out that the male sales associate who was working the floor was very charming and a highlight to the trip. He was certainly customer service savvy and counteracted the owner’s sometimes awkward behavior. He proceeded to help us pull looks from the 70’s era that would fit into our Boogie Nights party theme.
Kudos for the layout and merchandising with interesting inventory but unless the price points are reconsidered and the owner decides to take the attitude down a notch, I won’t be a client of Savant Vintage Couture anytime soon.
TIP: You may inquire about renting the merchandise which she quoted as being 25% of the retail price of an item.

Walking in this place is like digging around the set of That 70’s Show. There are tons of neat old pieces well organized and placed throughout the store. The racks are set up by color so it is easier to target something that you like.
On the downside, the store was a bit pricey. I found a few things that I liked, but I just didn’t LOVE them enough to buy them at the listed price. The owner is super friendly and helpful and seems to have done well finding great pieces for her jam packed store
