History
Established in 2013.
It is said that the best businesses solve a problem. As a New Year’s resolution, songwriters Patricia Patts and Liz Downing, two veterans of the music and entertainment industry, made the decision to write weekly with each other. However, they had trouble finding a consistent room on Music Row to write and distractions at home made songwriting difficult. From that conundrum, Write Off the Row was born.
Write Off the Row is your creative haven, your songwriting studio. It’s a place where you can book a room, grab a cup of coffee and write great songs. Our writer rooms are soundproof, safe and a professional place to work while providing all the comforts of home without the distractions.
Meet the Business Owner
Patricia Patts and Liz Downing L.
Business Owner
Patricia Patts started work early as a child actor doing such notable shows as Annie (as Annie in the original Los Angeles production) and adding her voice to the Snoopy/Charlie Brown classics as the voice of Peppermint Patty. She continued to work as a professional actor while also working behind the scenes at both entertainment and music companies. Patricia moved to Nashville to pursue a music career, but soon learned that spending 300 days on the road wasn’t for her. In 2008 she attended Belmont University as a Songwriting Major with a Music Business Minor. She graduated in 2012 and is now excited to be utilizing the knowledge she gathered at Belmont in this new endeavor.
Liz Downing had her first cut in 2008 and released her first EP Home in 2011, all the while working with a pro who taught her the business side of the music industry. Liz is excited to bring to Write Off the Row her great passion for music, as well as the unique perspective that only an artist/songwriter/pro has.
